reception gave wrong keys to a guest - came into our room at 23:00 very noisy - all doors seem to "bang" shut
Good value / money
Nothing i could think of
The friendly staff
Can't get wifi in the room, too expensive
We couldn't really sleep so much, but that was due to rude guests in the room
We shared an 8 bedroom so we did know what we were facing..it was clean and comfortable, friendly environment, friendly staff...and perfect position!
The noise. It's not recommended for older couples as it is packed with noise backpackers making it exhausting when you need to rest.
Loved the staff. Really helpful and nice too :)
The staff unbooked me for my last night when I called to come a night early, which doesn't make sense to me. So on my last night there they said we don't have any space for you. I was going to have to find a new place when luckily someone checked out. So if you are changing your boooking, make sure they do not cut you off on the end!
Liked the security, that you have to buzz in and there is 24Hr front desk. Nice atmosphere, not too many people so it is more intimate there. The staff were amazingly friendly and knowledgable. The beds are clean, a bit squeaky, but it was alright. There is breakfast to buy if one wants, coffee, drinks and snacks. Ashanti Green point really became my home for three weeks. I loved every minute of it.
WiFi signal was very poor from my room.
The staff are super friendly and helpful. Its nice and quiet so one gets good rest after a long day.
That we share the bathroom and toilets
I liked the friendly staff
Clean & comfortable. Spacious. Convenient location.
Other guests were so cool en they were coming from Germany, england and other parts of the world. It was we knew each other for ages
Really clean, the toilets were great and showers never had a line. Loved the pool and it was quite cool at night despite being the middle of summer (partly due to a good ceiling fan). Would definitely stay here again.
The bar wasn't what we expected.
Myself and boyfriend stayed at ashanti greenpoint for 5 days in December, the lodge staff were very friendly and accommodating and booking in was easy. We then inquired about points of interest in cape town and staff were very knowledgeable and assisted us on all places we should see. It's not just a backpackers but more of a luxury room at a competitive price, and a great place to meet people. We will definitely be back!
staff were friendly and attentive, location was central and easy to get about. a wonderful vibe. i would stay here again
They offer pancakes for breakfast but some days that we woke up around 9:40 it was over. No wifi in the rooms and bad connection even in the reception
Everything was good, nothing below or above the average. Room was nice and clean. Location is good if you want to relax, it not near the city center. It is around 20 minutes walk to the Waterfront. There are nice restaurants around. Staff was okay. We met very nice people and others just doing their jobs. The shared bathroom was good and clean
Clean , comforable and affordable family room.
Wifi in the room is non-existend. A lot of noise from the hallway. As if the persons were standing next to you in the room. Bed is short.
Rooms are small, clean and the interior is relatively new. Shared sanitary is clean. Good location in Greenpoint.
Sharing bathroom thing, not very clean sheet and towel, no wifi in the room
The stuff were helpful
People talking outside my room on the verandah; Onsite parking only available for about 6 cars.
Efficient organisation, modern clean rooms and ablutions, central location, wifi, helpful staff
The on suite bathroom was not the cleanest. The bathrooms doors (yes... Doors) looked like you would walk into a kitchen cupboard. The would not go all the way down to the floor. This is not really private. We could here people walking in the corridor.
The price was what we had budgeted.
Night staff and day manager unproffesional. Parking as advertised was blocked by big truck of one of the residents. No parking for rest of guests. When asked about this manager just said truck had priority so 6 cars denied access to parking bay. Not recommended for any one expecting some service and hospitality or in need of sleep.
The chef was friendly
The groceries that we bOught were not safe, anyone can poison yOur food if they wanted to because there wer no lockers in the fridge and our food was stolen
Wi-fi signal would benifet with it being stronger, sound proofing in rooms maybe ?
*Not being assisted to carry my very heavy luggage when checking in. *Being told 12 hours later that I had not paid for breakfast when I had paid.
*The information provided at check-in *The clean and comfortable room *The clean and hot shower *Clean toilet *Friendly staff *Great breakfast *Great location. Close to Sea Point and Green Point
We were a group of four females who over the course of our time in South Africa stayed here 3 times. First for two night, then back for 2 nights and then again at the end of our trip for 3 nights. We had a lovely big room with a safe, sink and a shared bathroom. towels were provided and the bathroom, kitchen and reception area were always clean and well organised. the wifi connection was excellent and worked in all areas of the hostel. A breakfast menu is available with a variety of hot and cold options at very good prices. Plently of facilities to cook also and lots of ware/pots etc avaiable. The location was good, in a safe part of Capetown with the supermarket and restaurants 5 minute walk away. The waterfront is about 30 minutes walk or the staff will order a taxi for 40rand. The staff are were friendly and helpful, Rene, a local is very knowledgeable and incredibly helpful and Nick is always ready to help carry the bags. When we came back after our trip on the garden route they welcomed us back and made us feel at home. We all really enjoyed our time there and I highly recommend the place
