Friendly efficient staff. Homely atmosphere. Large rooms. Nice extra touches - free sherry in room, fruit bowl, etc. Cell phone reception is poor.

There was not a single thing I didn't like about Ashdown House. Paradise in heaven! Very friendly, flexible and helpful staff, nicely decorated rooms, marvellous garden and located in nice & quiet neighbourhood. Can definitely recommend it and will definitely come back!

The place is quiet and very well decorated, with several places to seat and relax, enjoy a drink from the "honesty bar" or just to have a chat with other guests or the staff. Many thanks to Chantal for helping me ordering the dinner, cooking a delicious salmon and arranging the transfer for me. The room was quite big, with a confortable bed and a nice bathroom with shower and tube. There is WiFi coverage everywhere. The breakfast was excellent. I would certainly stay here again and strongly recommend this place. It's not at walking distance to any restaurant or shopping but the staff would help you get anything you need.

We were delighted with our stay @ Ashdown. returning for a second stay was like returning to a second home. Adelle and Chantalle go out of their way to ensure you're stay is as great as possible. As we were without a car we booked the evening meal option each night and this was delicious! Fresh home cooked - beautiful presentation. In the room was free of cherge sherry, fresh fruit, home made biscuits, freshly ground coffee etc. Bath salts, candles and matches with all the usual ammentities in the bathroom. VERY pleased to recommend this guest house to all!

Amazingly friendly staff and felt like home from home. Beautiful place and delicious breakfasts! It is not easy to walk somewhere to get food when the restaurant is shut. You need a car!

We enjoyed our stay in Ashdown House, we received a warm welcome. Although we forgot to book for dinner, it was immediately arranged for us. The bar service was based on trust and that made us feel at home. Nice room, wonderful view, relaxed atmosphere. In Ashdown House they show the difference between good and great!

The room was beautiful, with a balcony overlooking a lovely garden with a swimming pool. Lots of nice touches including daily fresh fruit and great coffee. Very good breakfast included in the price. I checked out of the Westcliff to move here and found it much more intimate and luxurious. The staff were great - very helpful and friendly. I had a wonderful time. Thank you.
