Ohh the taxi I booked which did not turn up on the day of my departure. However the helpful staff called a new taxi which showed up half an hour later. Thanks a lot or else I would have missed my flight .
The place was centrally located. I enjoyed the varied breakfasts, the spacious dormitory and attached shower rooms & toilet . Most of the staff were very friendly & helpful.
I had made changes in my booking, via booking.com and accordig to my receipts I had one night left to pay when I left the place. Placed the payment when checkin out. Anyways the Hostel have been charging my credit card even after this one (already back home) and are no longer answering my emails, nor sending me receipts for what they're charing my card for. Fully recommend u check your balance when you sign in, and what ever left to pay, use cash. Other than this, very alright hostel. And WIFI had pretty much min of its own.
Location was excellent, so were the facilities. Staff was friendly and helpfull whilt staying there, rooms were clean and building very well maintained.
great location modern and clean all facilities you need from a hostel
All was fine
Staff, atmosphere, backpackers
This backpackers is simply great! Great facilities, activities every day, very friendly staff, secure location within walking distance of the city centre, this is a very good placw to stay!
One of the more expensive rooms we had in SA. We've mainly booked B&Bs on our trip, this was roughly the same price, but without the elaborate breakfast.
- Lovely, clean and spacious room - Good mix of backpacker vibe with communal areas and great private room - Great location, close to restaurants and walking distance from V&A Waterfront - Parking spot on premises behind gate
WIFI seemed to have mind of its own... when it worked it was very good!
Close to everything and very clean hostel with extremly helpful staff. If people are complaining about the brekkie, one should keep in mind it's still a hostel, don't go expecting a continental breakfast. I was more than happy with what they offered. Room was really nice, stayed in four bed mixed dorm, we had our own bathroom and clean towels provided every day. Would def book this place again!
friendly staff, nice guests, both also very helpful, good company, comfortable rooms, safe area, close to V&A, quite close to long street,
Friendly staff Nice and clean room, kitchen, common areas variety of activities to do (township; surf; excursion; braai)
Aircon in the hot summer months would be nice!
Staff is adorable, great laid back atmosphere!
Don't get a top bunk. Especially if you plan on coming in late. Haha. Would like the terrace and ping pong open later but understand the reasoning.
Almos everything was great. For a young person traveling alone it was perfect. Lots of interesting people to meet, good activities, and braai night was great.
Being the one girl in a 4bed dorm for some days felt a bit awkward at times.
The wed braai was awesome.
Room ventilation lacks a lot. Addition of air conditioning would help. Pedal fans do niks... Set up of bathroom not conducive for one to shower and get dressed.
Set up is awesome. Loved it and it was easy to access.
it is not next to the beach but pretty closed
everything I would recommend this lodge, it has everything you need as a traveller
Ceiling fan in the dorm was kind of loud at night and could need a fix.
Very well situated close to the city center, V&A Waterfront, Sea Point promenade and on the way to Camps bay. Electronic access system at entrance and dorm rooms makes it very secure. One can easily leave stuff in his room or in the big lockers (bring your own lock!) Nice TV room, garden with a tiny pool, bar facilities... Comparatively good breakfast with toast, spread, fruits and scrambled eggs. I didn't do any tours but it seemed there are plenty of good tours offered by the backpackers and its partners so you don't have to worry about your program.
Sharing the bathroom was a horrible idea and the TV wasn't working and Noone knew how to fix it. Also it didn't say that the breakfast was very poor in the ad.
Nothing really. Wifi could have been better but even this was not really a problem.
Very much liked te atmosphere combined with the people, the location and the staff to be honest. One of the better hostels i've stayed in especially considering the price.
clean, good location
staff was amazing Clean good location
Wifi doesn't work in female dorm
Power point in the locker Breakfast Atmosphere Beds - comfortable Very clean
*Please don't advertise to have an outdoor pool when it's nothing more than a cloudy fish pond with a hose in it that takes up any space to even dip in. I was so disappointed as I booked this place based on a pool - being summer and the fact that after three long flights from Australia wanted to arrive somewhere and unwind in a pool. *The wifi was close to rubbish and very disappointing when trying to plan things and not get online. Luckily, nearby, found an excellent cafe called Shift Coffee that had fast/efficient wifi. Even the staff couldn't assist with some things because they had trouble getting online. *I thought, having put my name down on hostel board to go seal snorkelling it was booked. Told at one point I was and then at last minute not booked and too late as fully booked. The staff anyhow seemed to know little about the experience. What time pickup, for how long etc. I've booked myself for when passing through CT on way home.
*Location. Excellent position and easy to walk to everything. Great to have Woolworths supermarket within short walking distance and also a great cafe called Shift. Given no pool, I did happen to find a pool at the nearby 5 star hotel that offered free swimming at their sky bar. *Great guy called Siphine who works as a taxi driver and hangs around the hostel for business. Very trust worthy and fun guy. Highlight of my stay commuting with him. *Two of the girls who worked at reception very lovely. I just forget their names. One an American and the other a local I think.
i did like everything about the place I wish to visit the place again next year December
little bit noisy
Friendly and helpful staff, good location near pubs, restaurants and shops, very safe place with car parking inside, breakfast small, but enough, internet working properly
Staff very helpful, price affordable, I like the location, lots of activity options, comfortable rooms, well looked after
