Score from 94 reviews Very good
liked that it was easy to find, close to town, staff friendly and just a great get-a-way for a night out.
The staff were very friendly, and the breakfasts very good - the Auberge itself is a set of beautiful low-level whitewashed buildings, still had beautiful views of the mountains from the mezzanine floor of individual rooms. Very quiet, secure and tranquil location, yet still within a few minutes drive of the centre of Franschhoek, with truly excellent restaurants and vineyards.
Nothing - it was perfect for us.
Nice establishment in a lovely quiet area of Franschhoek, short drive to the main street and all the activities. Super breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room view could have been nicer but this was part of the original building so in those days they did not build to maximise views and location! Nothing otherwise
Great hospitality and caring Eager to assist in arrangements Lovely setting Really nice owners
TV was a bit low down on the wall to view when lying in bed. No instructions for the air-conditioner / heater
We were upgraded to a cottage which were excellent, without any issues. The venue met all our expectations, and more, it had all the features in which we were use to and to gain access to a fireplace on a cold night was fantastic. The fire placed warmed up the open plan cottage, making it nice and cosy. It was peaceful and quiet, just what we wanted. The receptionist and other staff was friendly and very helpful. It was great knowing that the town "Franschoek" was just a couple of minutes drive down the road to visit restaurants and to do some wine tasting and sight seeing. Bed and Breakfast. Breakfast was great and tasty - a real cosy feel atmosphere in the dining hall and good "great" warm food for a cool morning. A great place for anybody wanting to get away from the normal routine.
The cottage where we stayed in just need some attention with the patio door. Cold air somehow came into the cottage, but we managed with the extra blankets that were available and the warm fireplace. I hope that the owners of this venue would consider adding meals - dinners to their list of services that they offer.
Views, under-floor heating, friendly helpful staff.
We loved our stay!
Maybe just extend the time that breakfast is served to 11 am in the morning.
Lovely views. Quite central. Comfortable bed and delicious breakfast
It was all good
Stayed only one night at this venue. Lovely views, friendly and helpful staff and well situated.
Great place, delicious breakfast. I would go again definatly
Positioning of the rooms. Conditions of the bathrooms.
The setting the location and the grounds and pool.
Rooms were good size but tired. Furniture was functional but not stylish. Shower was ridiculously small with such an inadequate curtain the floor always got very wet. We enjoyed our stay but think we could have done better in the area for the price. The male owner was a bit off putting in his chauvinistic remarks toward female members of the staff.
Ideal place to enjoy the nature surrounding Franschhoek.
Very nice people & breakfast? Tv with satelite and all possible options. You are in a farm.
The bed is not like an Hotel? Not hard very soft. small bathroom.
Truly beautiful place and hosts and staff
The room was one of the best we have ever stayed in, setting is stunning, really lovely staff. Very relaxing to hang out around the pool. Breakfast was a real treat.
Could not fault it
Location is fabulous rooms are nicely appointed
The setting, the rooms, the staff, and the breakfast.
Location, friendly & helpful staff, good breakfast and lovely rooms.
We stayed at the mansion which has 4 rooms in the whole mansion overlooking a dam and mountain. The owner also stays there when he is not travling. Very romantic and relaxing. The swimming pool is a big help to cool down on a hot day.
There are 4 dogs that stay in the mansion. They are friendly and adorable dogs, but they can be noisy and their hair shed on the sofas in the living room I don't think it's hygenic. There is no air conditioning in the room, so it can be a bit unbearable because Franschhoek is often a warm town.
Comfortable room, good location, substantial breakfast and good sized swimming pool
The only downside was that the owners allowed three of their dogs to roam around the dining room looking for food scraps whilst guests are having breakfast
Lush and scenic grounds and views to heaven , ambient atmosphere and hospitable hosts.
Service was good. Staff very friendly and courteous. Location great. Facilities great - loved the gazebo by the dam - ideal for sundowners.
Wonderful place snd wonderful people absolutely loved it !
