Excellent location, very nice farm house, freindly owners and staff, beautiful decorated rooms, good breakfast.
Deck chairs at the pool looked a bit worn out
Very close to the town of Franschhoek but at the same time it gave a nice feeling of "getting away from it all".
We arrived much later than planned and missed our wine tour but the fabulous Ronel quickly got on the phone and organised us a trip to visit two wine estates and sorted out a dinner reservation and taxi in no time!! She really saved the day - thankyou!!
Just wish we stayed longer!!
Loved the views, the room was very comfortable, great location, staff very friendly and helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
The pillows :/
Really terrific staff. Quiet, somewhat rural location. Loft rooms quiet spacious.
Too far from the village to walk. Have to get in the car and drive to go anywhere.
Beautiful farm-like style in a charming and comfortable place
Wonderful location Friendly staff Large room which was very tastefully decorated Fabulous bath Extremely comfortable four poster bed
Fridge in the room made loud hissing noises like gas escaping every 40 minutes which kept me awake all night Shower was very small - a pity as there is more than enough room to have made it big enough to get in / out of.
Staff were great - helped arrange taxis, gave great tips for eating and wine tasting. Breakfasts were great value and staff were very friendly.
Loft unit with the bed upstairs and the bathroom downstairs wasn't great. Aircon didn't work properly.
- The views were amazing! - Felt very welcome on arrival - Very peacefull - The dogs and donkey's were so cute!
The stairs in the room! It wasn't obvious on the photo's! My husband has back problems and my mother has problems with her legs. If I knew about the stairs I would probably rather have gone for the cottages or have chosen another guesthouse.
Lovely grounds in quiet spot. Spacious room. Manager was delightful and very helpful. Breakfast was very good.
One window in the room had no curtain or blind in it. The morning light beamed in from 5 am waking us. My tall husband hit his head twice on the low arch of doorway. Loud music played at breakfast time.
Very good accomendation, nice owners and very good breakfast
The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating so that we could get our key after hours. Very quiet and peaceful location. Excellent breakfast
It was just a bit further away from our wedding location than we thought. Everything was perfect and we wish we could have stayed longer
Friendliest people, breathtaking views, neat as a pin, gorgeous garden, sumptuous breakfast! Absolutely worthwhile! Hope to be back soon
Didn't like to leave
accomodation sightseeings food and wines
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We stayed in Room 1 (I think it was the Shiraz Room) and it was beautifully decorated with a private balcony. The grounds are quite tranquil and serene with farm animals to set the country mood. Ronel was so helpful and really friendly. The kitchen staff made a delicious breakfast that was well worth it. The breakfast is one of the best I've ever had. The staff are a great asset to the establishment - wonderful service! Overall, I will highly recommend Auberge La Dauphine to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable yet luxurious stay. I give it two thumbs up and will certainly return.
I personally didn't mind it at all but if you are not a pet-friendly person, you might not like the dogs who wander free on the property. They're really unobtrusive, people-friendly and very well-trained so are no bother at all unless you're sensitive to that sort of thing.
Great accommodation, The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Altogether a lovely visit
The room was charming, the breakfast excellent and the view was fantastic. It was nice to rent a bike and explore the vineyards on our own.
Everything was superb, a very comfortable and well appointed room, friendly and attentive staff and a magnificent setting. Go back for a visit? No, I want to live there!
liked that it was easy to find, close to town, staff friendly and just a great get-a-way for a night out.
The staff were very friendly, and the breakfasts very good - the Auberge itself is a set of beautiful low-level whitewashed buildings, still had beautiful views of the mountains from the mezzanine floor of individual rooms. Very quiet, secure and tranquil location, yet still within a few minutes drive of the centre of Franschhoek, with truly excellent restaurants and vineyards.
Nothing - it was perfect for us.
Nice establishment in a lovely quiet area of Franschhoek, short drive to the main street and all the activities. Super breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Room view could have been nicer but this was part of the original building so in those days they did not build to maximise views and location! Nothing otherwise
Great hospitality and caring Eager to assist in arrangements Lovely setting Really nice owners
TV was a bit low down on the wall to view when lying in bed. No instructions for the air-conditioner / heater
