This family-owned and run country inn provides an environment of beauty and tranquillity situated between the vineyards, with majestic mountain views of the Stellenbosch and Simonsberg Mountains.

Auberge Rozendal is a beautiful guest house property situated on a working wine estate in the heart of the Western Cape wine country. Located only 30 minutes outside Cape Town, and even closer to the airport and ocean, each of the 16 modern, en suite guest rooms have 30 m ² of space, plus a private terrace.

Hotel information

Relax at the pool or enjoy a leisurely hike in the adjacent forests and mountains. The restaurant is located in the 150 year old manor house, where meals may be enjoyed on the terrace and in the dining room. A set menu is created daily using seasonal ingredients, such as home-grown vegetables, fruits and herbs, as well as fresh local products purchased daily.

Food & beverage

The restaurant's cuisine can be described as creative and natural with Provencal roots. Ingredients are always fresh, sourced from home-grown organic vegetables, fruit and herbs, as well as free-range farm eggs and milk. Other organic products are locally sourced, such as duck breast, venison, salmon trout. Meals are served either on the vine-covered veranda overlooking a tranquil lawn, or in the dining room with its gallery of canvases by world famous local artist, Paul Ems.

All meals are preceded by a glass of Rozendal's own health inspiring vinegar and are prepared with French country flair. The restaurant is open to the public 7 days a week for Lunch from 12:00 – 15:00 and for dinner from 19:00 – 21:00, but closed June - August. Please note that booking is essential. The restaurant is open exclusively to our guests for breakfast through out the year.

Room information

Guests are accommodated in simple elegance and comfort. Each room has both an en suite bathroom and a patio.

The rooms have been decorated in European style with a South African touch; the walls of many have been decorated by works of well-known, contemporary South African artists.

Travel information

By Car:
From Cape Town International Airport (N2):
- Head towards Somerset-West on the N2.
- Turn left onto exit 33 (R310) to Stellenbosch.
- At the T-junction, turn right and enter Stellenbosch, past Distell, over the rail bridge. The train station is on your left.
- After the station, turn into Adam Tas Road. At the 2nd traffic light, turn right into Merriman Avenue (see direction sign: Auberge Rozendal).
- Continue straight through 3 sets of traffic lights until you reach the circle. At the circle continue straight.
- After the circle (approximately 2 km) turn left into Omega Street (See direction sign: Auberge Rozendal).
- We are at the end of Omega Street.
