Unfortunately there was a building site opposite...this also spoils the view. Also the hotel is a little old fashioned and needs some minor modernisation

Fantastic!! I don't believe there is a better place to stay in Knysna, Fantastic views, Fantastic staff, a lovely comfortable bed and a wonderful breakfast. And what a bathroom! Great.

There is nothing to dislike.

Excellent value for money. Olde world charm. Enormous suite and bathroom. Complimentary port. Advice from staff on local attractions. Proximity to the 'Heads'. Good restaurants nearby. Secure parking.

A lot of steps to property.

Service was great, really friendly place with nice little personal touches such as the sherry in the room to welcome us.

Really sorry that the place across the road has planning permission as it is affecting the aesthetics of Augusta Bay, such a shame.

The service, the rooms, the breakfast and the location. Could not have been made more welcome and could not have been more relaxed. The views from most of the rooms is just fantastic, and you can hear the waves lapping against the shore, sheer bliss.

The Augusta Bay is a fantastic guest house and brilliant value for money. Our room was luxury and large with a luxury bathroom. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. They even went to the trouble of providing Gluten free bread and cereal for my husband and also soya milk. Thank you. x

I loved the view and location of our room at Augusta Bay and the room and bathroom was very spacious. The staff was very helpful, friendly and accomodating. Was excellent value for money.

Location is wonderful. Facilities and staff were great and the views stunning. Its out of town so maybe not ideal for some but for me in a perfect location at the mouth of the lagoon

Great location near the dramatic scenery of Knysna Heads. Comfortable.

The room we were allocated had a stylised old fashioned conservatory style roof which was very light from sun up onwards. The building work opposite was noisy but we got an attractive Smart Deal price which made it acceptable for our two nights. Some things were tired and jaded. Four star at best.

Excellent, friendly and very helpful staff. The rooms were very big, always clean and the beds were comfortable. Good loaction on the Heads and two good restaurants locally.

It's not the fault of Augusta Bay but only compliant was the building works opposite - hopefully they will finish soon.

Excellent little guest house! It is clean, has a swimming pool, and is very nicely situated at The Heads. The personnel and management are very friendly and helpful. Very much recommended.

Parking is a little tricky

We had a wonderful stay at the Augusta Bay Guest House thanks to Peter who went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience during our brief visit to Knysna. He was able to secure us a reservation at a popular restaurant in town at the last minute during the busy holiday period and helped us make arrangements for a great day of mountain biking nearby at Harkerville. Although there was only limited parking available at the guest house, we were able to keep our car there well past check out so that we could enjoy our biking tour. The facilities were certainly nice, but for us it's the people who make all the difference and in that regard the Augusta Bay Guest House is hard to beat.

Great location, friendly helpful staff. Close to great restaurant and viewpoints. Large spacious room and also dining room/bar overlooking the bay. Breakfast is excellent and sets you up for the day.

Nothing to dislike - would return here in an instant!
