Pool Large room Balcony Location very close to town Room safe
-decoration -size of room and bed -ocean view -staff
Large room, perfect Balcony , well furnished(our room had the best view overlooking whole Camps Bay) with the evening sun. Nice sitting area in room Restaurants on walking distance. Close to all the highlights.
Lot of stairs! Bed room couldn't be totally darkened because of glass separating it from the night hall. shower
Very close to town, spacious rooms and decks, friendly staff. Relaxed but luxurious atmosphere, with wonderful views.
We had honeymoon suite it was very nicely furnished and very spacious. Freshly made breakfast Short walk to the strip Quiet Free wifi
Climb up the stairs with luggage from car park level to top of building. But not much you can do about that if you want a view.
Restaurants are nearby in walking distance and a walk at the beach is always nice.
In contrast to other B&B places where we stayed, the atmoshpere is here more hotel-like than that of a B&B. Parking could be a problem as Balfour Place is at the end of a cul de sac. Another guest argued about whether the rooms are facing seaside (he expected a room with a straight view onto the sea = parallel to the beach): the rooms are sea-facing but more from a side view.
The staff are really helpful and add to the relaxed atmosphere. There are numerous restaurants just a few minutes walk away and the location makes it easy to get to the table mountain cable car or into Cape Town on the coast road. It is right next door to a Primi hotel, where you would expect to pay quite a lot more if you booked via your travel company rather than via the internet.
Not a 'dislike' but there are quite a few steps up to the hotel and again inside as there is no lift. Having said that we had help with the bags on arrival and checking out.
we just stayed here for one night, very nice people, big room with nice view
The views, the decor, furnishings etc
A bit noisy, especially at weekends as close to three main roads, but quiet enough at night. There was very little choice for breakfast, with not a cereal in sight.
Absolutely amazing view! Delicious, made-to-order breakfast in the mornings from very friendly staff. Staff was accommodating. Walking distance from the promenade in Camps Bay, the hop on hop off bus, and the beach. Would definitely book again.
Wifi was in and out and connecting to different routers in the guesthouse. Sometimes the staff was hard to find when we had questions or needed help with something. There was no phone or fridge in the room.
The location and view. Room #5 is the biggest one. It is beautiful and spacious. The location is an easy and very short walk to the beach/restaurants/shops but feels removed and is quiet.
I didn't like that guests could smoke on the balconies so you had no control if you were next to a smoker.
Perfect location to go to the beach and the restaurants. Free parking
Location. Manager. View from Veranda.
I thought Breakfast was so-so. Shower was also a bit strange but acceptable.
* good breakfast, * Friendly staff * great location.
Reception very close to the room that we stayed in.
3 min walking to camps bay beach and good restaurants.
Lovely large room and balcony with views over Camps Bay
the good situation very nice breakfast nice view very quiet
nothing, maybe the fact that only 2 cars can park in front of the hotel
The views, the huge bed, how close it was to the main road
There was nothing I didn't like. Small suggestions: 1) to have a jug of water downstairs 2) on beautiful mornings, to set a table outside for breakfast
I liked the location and the spacious room and bathroom. I actually liked the fact that we were left alone and that we didn't meet the owners/managers although a friendly welcome from them would have been nice. The views were just breathtaking.
There's no small fridge in the rooms, so we had to go down to the kitchen to get ice from the fridge. Would have been nice to have a small bar fridge to keep drinks cold. But also understandable that owners don't want too much drinking there.
Overall, fantastic. The hotel had brilliant views of the beach and the staff were very friendly. We found the room was very clean and spacious and was furnished/decorated to a high standard. We were both very impressed with our stay and will definitely be returning.
We found the Wifi a bit temperamental.
Location and friendly staff
Value for money Friendly staff Close to good restaurants Good views of the bay and the mountain
Some tours and taxi drivers had trouble accessing the address Wifi was often not working Stairs would create problems for some people (though not us) Pool balcony not open to guests in the evenings - could not see the sunset.
