The staff and owners were excellent. Very friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food in the restaurant was delicious. The artwork and decor were very cool and unexpected for a small country hotel.

The hotel was in need of redecoration and we were put into a room above the bar. On the first night the noise from the music and clientele was excessive (until 12.45am). We were however moved the next night. We really only visited Barrydale to meet up with distant relatives, and are unlikely to visit the town again.

A great eclectically decorated country hotel, warm friendly staff, great food Location is opposite the off sales, which on a Friday night was noisy, with locals arguing and brawling on the street (however this stopped at around 7pm once workers had been transported back to the farms. Hotel bar is also a bit noisy

The hotel is different and not quite what we were expecting. Bathroom enormous. The breakfast was to fatty. The restaurant was undergoing renovation.

Dankie vir 'n ongelooflike langnaweek - die Klein Karoo het my hele hart opgefrommel! Ons verblyf in die Barrydale Karoo Hotel het 'n ewige letsel van hemelse herinneringe agtergelaat - die personeel was soos familie en die diens was puik. Ontbyt by Mike was 'n stewige fondasie en inspirasie vir elke lewendige dag en saans het die hotel-aktiviteite in die kroeg ons ingesluk. Ons het die voorreg gehad om deur Piet Botha & kie Saterdagaand vermaak te word .... dit was 'n belewenis! Die hele karoo-omgewing deur die Tradauwpas op die motorfiets was 'n onvergeetlike ervaring en kan nie wag vir 'n volgende geleentheid om weer daar te kuier nie.

specially the aloe products available for use was unique. Not even the 5 star hotels have anything that special. A small travel pack as a gift when you leave would be very special. Thank you. We would have liked some help with our luggage when we arrived.

Loved the decor and the large room with balcony (room 3) ... definitely value for money. It is quirky ... Love fresh air ... No windows in room 3 only double door ... did not feel comfortable to leave them open at night ...

Vriendelijk personeel, leuke bar bij het hotel. Uitstekende wijnkaart en keuken. Bijzondere kunst van Magpie, kamer met ruim balkon, prettige tuin, gratis parkeren (op straat). Gratis internet.

Das Hotel ist mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, wir hatten das App. mit kleinem Garten und beeindruckenden Blick auf die Berge. Bar und Restaurant direkt nebenan.

Wir blieben spontan eine Nacht länger! Ein farbiges, originelles Hotel voll bunter überraschungen. Und gleich nebenan das feine Restaurant Mez. Wer durch die kleine Karoo fährt sollte hier Halt machen!

We liked the staff and the service. We felt very welcome throughout our stay. The food in the restaurant was lovely, and Mike from Liverpool (the restaurant owner) had an excellent manor. We didn't like the shower being in the bed room and the toilet being shared with other guests down the hall. I think you can pay extra for an en-suite but this was not made clear at the time of booking.

L'originalité du lieu, la décoration très originale de chaque chambre et les repas dans le restaurant adjacent remarquable. Un peu isolé au milieu de rien, juste une étape où il est risqué de sortir le soir

Nothing We found the room to be dark, grubby and very noisey. The room was full of mosquitos and between the two of us we had over 50 bites, and only stayed one nite!! The plug in mosquito was ineffective!
