The quiet old fashioned appeal of a past era with modern facilities. Lovely Gardens
Service slightly slow in Restuarant.
They went out of there way to make our first night as a married couple really special
Wonderful ambience, beautiful gardens, outstanding breakfast and afternoon tea.
The facilities, service and engaging nature of the staff make this one of the most outstanding hotels I have ever stayed at.
I have difficulty in finding fault anywhere.
Service and Staff were excellent. We were upgraded to a room with a view of Table Mountain which was great.
Wonderful hotel, great staff
Wonderful mountain view, great service all round and couldn't find any fault with our room service on the night, timeous, polite and delicious! Very professional and a classic hotel.
Not much! If anything and it's petty. Checkout could have been a bit swifter when needing to add waters from the minibar. We did leave at 5am though, so maybe forgivable.
We loved the historic architecture combined with modern amenities. The breakfast buffet was incredible. And the staff was very helpful and friendly.
The graciousness of the staff, they were wonderful
Not much indoor space to relax in comfortably.
The pale pink hotel with all its original features is like staying in a museum but with all the modern features. I loved it. Pool scene divine too.
- great refurbished junior suites - friendly, attentive service - varied breakfast buffet - location just off kloof/long streets - lovely gardens
-AC in one of our rooms didn't work
Professional and friendly staff. Food was great in Planet restaurant and staff were very helpful
The hotel is wonderful, a haven of security in an uncertain town. The staff where helpful and the atmosphere was to be enjoyed, the afternoon high tea certainly not to be missed. Our suite was amazing.
The breakfast was in another part of the hotel, far from the lobby and might as well have been light years from the hotel, completely sterile but the breakfast was attractive. Unfortunately we had a terrible mattress, sloping on both sides that made sleeping well impossible.
The staff are very professional, and made us feel at home from the word go. We will certainly return to the hotel.
Fantastic staff, very welcoming and friendly. Made our marriage ceremony very special.
The ambiance, warm and friendly staff, especially Lazie in the Oasis, the smiling Head Concierge (Byron Page), help with arrangements, great breakfasts, Planet Bar
Unstable bar table in Planet Bar at lunchtime, cold bathroom.
What a gem. Beautiful old school luxury but still a relaxed atmosphere, and not too pretentious. Courteous staff, nice rooms, gorgeous garden area, fantastic high tea +++ this institution is a must see either it is for staying or spending an afternoon for anyone who visits Cape Town.
The day we arrived it was quite hot and humid, and the "plush" furnishing with all the carpets made the room feel a bit stuffy..
The afternoon tea was lovely, the staff extremely knowledgeable Very accommodating to us while waiting for our flight home The whole atmosphere was perfect
A very special place with outstanding staff, great facilities and wonderful rooms
Everything was perfect, the staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble, we felt at home and relaxed instantly, the whole place is welcoming.. Even the resident duck didn't mind sharing the pool with us..!!
We didn't like leaving..!!

We will return for sure, special thanks to Wilson. Buissy and Washington for all their help, smiles and laughter .. We love South Africa ..!!
It is ready to be refurnished
