It was a terrible weekend. The location was filthy and smelt terrible. The restaurant was appauling. The staff at the restaurant was rude - particularly at night.

Top class, food was great - service great and staff always at the ready to serve you

We booked a room on the internet requesting shower and double bed - but - got room with bath and double bed - I cant get into a bath so no trouble they changed it but then we got two single beds - we were too exhausted to complain - but it is a nuisance when requests are not met.

The proximity to the sea. Area also much quieter than the busier areas such as Langebaan and Paternoster.

The fact that our cottage was between the laundry room and the waste bin area, not the best situated cottage on the property. The continuous noise from the jet ski's early in the evening when they were cleaning and reving the bikes outside our unit. I did ask to see the manager to report this and was told he was going to come and see us but I am still waiting.

At list it is a quite place to rest and enjoy

beautiful location

the play area infront of reception is run down and the huge ants all over the place is a problem for the children running around barefoot. 2 of the 3 swimming pools were green so couldnt be used on the 5th of Jan so peak season.

The whole ambience of the lodge was excellent. The staff very friendly food superb. Thev lodge was in good condition.

Thought it needed a pub type area where people could meet. Room a little bit too small.

Had a lovely 3 night stay at Blue Bay Lodge over the Christmas period. Our semi-self-catering suite opened up onto the pool which is awesome when the kids spend hours in the pool. Also the semi-self-catering worked out well as the kids were always hungrey after swimming. The views at breakfast were wonderful. And the beach was lovely. Arts and crafts for the kids (organised by the hotel) was fun

Kitchen/Restaurant and room service was a bit slow, but I guess this is to be expected over Christmas time as hotel is probably short staffed.. I would still definitely return

Hot water / shower not working properly. No dstv.

I liked it because it's quiet and near all holiday destinations.

The smell of the drains was disgusting! There were no cooling in the bedrooms - not even a fan or a rooffan. You can't open the windows at night because of the crime level in S.A. So it was really hot at night in the bedrooms.

Typical SA thing: pre charging your credit card when booking at booking.com. When you travel in a group not practical at all. Some rooms are small.

The location, the general facilities in the room, the general condition of the rooms / premises. The general service and friendliness of the staff. The close parking facilities, the ease of finding the lodge.

1. The overcrowding at the bar with large couches in front that guests prefer not to use, therefore crowding the space around the counter making it hard for other guests to move from the dining area to outside. 2. The lack of staff on duty. The dining area was full as there was a school reunion on, yet there were only 3 staff on duty. We received good service from our waiter but couldn't help noticing how stressed out he and the two ladies on duty, were. 3. The drain plug in the basin in our room was not properly functional and we thought the drain was blocked. As it turned out, once it was unplugged it couldn't be plugged again. Again it took a few hours before this could be attended to as there were not enough staff on duty. 4. There was a bad smell in our room, probably coming from the bathroom drains. We asked for our room to be changed, but this was ignored, apparently because staff were too busy attending to other guests. 5. The breakfast selection of croissants & scones etc were not very presentable. The scones were hard and over baked and the croissants were just a few and smashed.

At the breakfast table we were informed that our breakfast was not included in the tariff although it was advertised that the breakfast was included in the room rate. Afterwards we made an enquiry and according to the head reservationist Vanessa Koopman it was due to the fact that we did not make the reservation directly with the hotel but through booking.com.

Food was good & bar was welcoming. Staff were friendly & helpful.

Poorly located - on coast but overlooking shipyards, industrial areas & a large oil drilling rig. Beach was dirty & smelly due to previous points. Rooms were small & also smelled of damp. Water dripped onto our heads from a pipe above the main door when we went in or out. No mat to wipe feet - so constantly trailed dirt & sand into hallway. Only cold water tap for washing hands in toilet.

We had a wonderful time at Blue Bay Lodge. The staff was so friendly and courteous - we were made to feel like royalty. The room in which we stayed had a stunning sea-view and was quiet and very clean. We also ate at the restaurant and the food was tastefully prepared. We have stayed at many b+ B's / guesthouses and Blue Bay Lodge was definitely a highlight for us. We have no problem in recommending this accomodation.

It was a nice location to take a break. Very nice for sightseeing. Staff were very friedly and helpfull. Enjoyed the food very much.

The rooms are very small and would prefer the TV to be of a higher quality.

Contrairement à l'annonce, cet établissement est situé en bord de mer! Nous avons opté pour la solution self-catering et étions dans un cottage en bord de mer. Tranquilité absolue !

Cottage trop éloigné du "resort", la question de la sécurité est ouverte malgré un vigile qui patrouille la nuit. De plus, le port minéralier donnat sur la baie dépose des résidus sur l'ensemble de la région, ce qui donne un aspect rougeâtre à la végétation. Qu'en est il sur le plan de la santé ? Wifi payant, dans un salon de l'hôtel.
