Outstanding hosts with a hands on approach and an eye for detail make you feel like you are in your own home. Spacious and nicely designed private rooms, excellent breakfast, tranquil gardens. Would definitely stay at the Blue Jay again if the opportunity arises.
Nothing that we didn't like
Friendliness and helpfulness of the owners, Room comfort and beauty of the hotel, Location near the Kruger National, Partnerships with efficient tourist activities.
Our visit to Blue Jay Lodge was complete within every detail of hospitality. Philip and Margy are realy nice people who made these few days of our honeymoon very special!
The seting was nice, it had a nice pool and briaa facility. The breakfast was good. The rooms were comfortable and clean.
We had ants in the self catering unit. The driveway will scrape the bottom of your car if you have a low car.
Great hospitality from Margie and Phil Beautiful garden Very good breakfast
Road for the Last 200 meters is very bad
We found good ratings online for the Blue Jay Lodge, and decided to book two nights. The room was amazing! Large and comfortable, clean and exceeded our expectations generally. Definitely one of the best breakfasts we had along our trip (and we had plenty)! The owners (Phil & Margi) were great!!! They helped us a lot getting around and gave really good tips. We also got a good chance to chat with them several times and had a very good time just speaking to them…lovely people!
Finding the place was a bit tricky since the lodge is located at the end of a small dirt-road (the owners told us they are trying to get this paved).
The lodge has very nice suites and the garden is really nice. The owner Phil and his wife are really very nice people and we got a lot of good recommendations what to do and where to eat. We had a very pleasant stay and were driving around the area. Hazyview is a good starting point as it is right in the middle between Krüger, Graskop and Sabie. Hazyview is not a tourist town so you see life like it really is.
-The owners are very kind and helpful -The room size, its huge - Very quiet
-Its a little hard to find, the GPS does not identify the street
The ambience and luxury accompanied by the hosts hospitality
We stayed at the Blue Jay Lodge for the second time, what a lovely place. We really enjoyed our stay and Phil and Margi are nice and warm people, we felt very welcome! The lodge is close to the Phabeni gate and for sure, enjoy a nice meal at Pioneer's grill in Hazeyview.

I personally battled with the bed and had backache.
This is set in a great location and the owners are fantastic with lots of good info and advice on where the best places to go are in the local area. Would recommend the safari services they are able to source for you.
