No air conditioning. Fan was noisy.
Maybe needs some refurbishment of the bathroom shortly...
Nice helpful people, good breakfast, good location, great atmosphere
Baie skoon en netjies
The luxury double room is right at the entrance, almost on top of the reception!
The bathroom was super small-shower is about 0.9m by 0.9m but also had a small bath. Seperate 'room' for face basin. Four poster bed was a bit creaky but lots and lots of history. Breakfast just breakfast..
The location-BEAUTIFUL gardens, antique well kept furniture,
Lovely welcome, friendly staff, accommodation, pool, gardens and breakfast. A delightful place to stay with great history beautifully preserved.
Character property in excellent location. Safe parking and helpful owners.
Room advertised was Luxury Double ,featuring a Terrace. In fact room was Small, some what claustrophobic, and stuffy, with portable, noisy aircon and Terrace was small area outside heavily padlocked burglar bars, over looking Car Park. Swimming Pool was not attractive with heavy sediment on bottom. Breakfast was fresh but over cooked
Lovely Building, lovely Art work, feeling of History, pleasant garden, secure parking, easy walking distance to town
The owners and staff were wonderful. It was like "home from home". They achieve the right balance between making you feel at home while still feeling that there is no intrusion on your privacy. Thanks Johan, Ode and Bernice and staff.
The only thing I didn't like was the very noisy aircon/fan.
Breakfasts were great and the ease of getting to my room plus secure off road parking.
Breakfast on outdoor terrace and hospitality and helpfulness of all staff Secure parking a bonus.
Really enjoyed the stay, nice garden with pool, good restaurants nearby and plenty of places of interest within easy walking distance or drive
We feel that Caledon Villa should have realised that our room Elizabeth was not suitable for such a long stay. The air conditioning was a large stand alone unit with a hose vent out of the window that made the small room even more cramped. All of the plumbing was elderly and badly maintained. There was just no feeling of luxury anywhere.
WE booked this guest house in July for a 23 day stay to follow a busy time with lots of eating out and socialising during December. We wanted somewhere to relax, enjoy some home cooking and unwind. Our so called luxurious room provided none of this. The room was small, dark and cramped with no adequate seating and poor kitchen fascilities. We made the staff aware of our disappointment and they were very helpful, but couldn't move us for four days. A beautiful old house it was stuffed with old furniture and if as much attention had been paid to comfort inside as to the lovely garden perhaps things would have been better. Breakfast very good and Bernice was etremely helpful. We move after the four days and stayed another five days in a bigger more pleasant room. Caledon Villa kindly released us from our planned long stay enabling us to move to a more suitable venue.
The round bed was not so comfortable
Location, garden with the pool, staff was nice, we enjoyed the Nouveau room with a jacuzzi which was very comfortable
bathroom could have been a bit better cleaned..
very nice villa with some history, really nice location in stellenbosch as everything is in walking distance, good breakfast!
Staff really friendly and helpful. Covered/secure parking. Beautiful lodge.
Can't think of any.
Extremely helpful staff (Bernice is amazing) All historical details are impressive, the house is like a museum We had the feeling to be part of a family, by the intimate, friendly an relaxed atmosphere. Location is perfect.
Beautiful property in excellent location. The owners (Johan and Ode) and staff are so welcoming and happy to help with any request. The house contains a wealth of history and Johan delights in sharing this with visitors. Less than 5 minutes walk to the centre of town. Lovely pool and gardens. Great breakfasts.
Having to re-enter lengthy wi-fi code each time.
Enjoyed the many antiques, the welcoming touches,i.e.the wine, the biscotti with coffee & tea in our room, the staff's friendliness & helpfulness with luggage, the owner's assistance in planning our time, the beautiful grounds.
Very nice house and garden Quietness City in short walking distance Friendlyness and detailed and competent suggestions by the owner
We felt nervous walking from Town at night. Breakfast small portions and buffet cold meats not good and poor selection- the bacon did not taste good. The plumbing -shower in Maria- badly needs modernisation. Expensive for what it is.
The staff were delightful and the setting was outstanding . A magnificent tranquil garden-liked the succulents.Quite well situated for City centre.Breakfast very well cooked and served.Quiet and serene atmosphere felt at home with the antique furniture.
Shower was full of hair Room was adjacent to hall way, noisy before breakfast For this price Internet should be complimentary.
The guesthouse is beautiful and our room was stunning. The location is perfect and breakfast was good.
Staff friendliness & accommodating. Quality presentation. Service offering. In room presentation. Facilities. Location. Pleasant experience.
Great stay. Friendly staff. Ask about the dolls. Walking distance to restaurants. Great victorian style atmosphere. Would recommend this.
