No milk in the fridge
We came to do the Spar ladies run/walk. the start was literally across the road and made it so much more convenient to sleep in Green Point and not fight the early morning race traffic. The hotel is drop dead beautiful and it was very luxurious.
I liked everything, location, rooms, staff - All
We stayed in a number of 5 star accommodations over our 2 1/2 week stay in SA. The breakfast in the Cape Royal did not compare with the other establishments - particularly the Palazzo in JoBerg - as a result we only had breakfast once during our stay. Wifi - it was very frustrating to have to use the username/password system being used. It is much easier to use your room number and surname like most hotels. Please note however that my stay overall was fantastic and that I intend to stay in the Cape Royal on my next visit.
The room was fantastic as was the overall hotel.
We really did not like the beds as they were really small and hard to sleep on. The beds were hard as rocks too!
The location just cannot be beat - restaurants and the Waterfront minutes away.
Week Internet in the room i
The complimentary wi-fi is only 1gb, after that you have to pay for more, it's also erratic and unreliable.
Thr suites are large and comfortable with well equipped fitted kitchens. The location is great for a short walk to the waterfront and for strolling in downtown Cape Town.
The pool on the roof and the breakfast restaurant which actually we did not use since breakfast was not included.
Location by the waterfront and convenience of staff and indoor parking.
Limited wifi, very dark in lift entrance area and the roof top pool and bar area was extremely disappointing and uninviting
Room size was excellent
The service levels had dropped, not special touches, we were just a number that was served terrible food and the facilities in the room such as TV remote and phone were broken. We had to send the food back it was so bad and go out to eat, they still tried to charge us.
The porter and reception
No bath, aircon and shower not working properly, bedroom without window, restaurant service poor and food a disaster. Wifi constantly needed reconnecting.
Good location, comfortable bed
My room was not made up one day as i left bit late
Position and staff was great
Paying for parking when you are staying at the hotel. Limits on wifi.
We recently had a wonderful stay at the Cape Royal. We stayed in a very large luxurious 2 bedroom apartment with a bathroom for each bedroom. The position was excellent and walking distance to the A&V Waterfront. Staff were lovely and always helpful. The rooftop deck was a great spot for sundowners every evening. Overall a very enjoyable stay!
The wifi was okay, could need some improvement with speed.
The staff made this entire stay memorable. Customer service goes a very long way, and Cape Royal staff executed that very well!
Wi-fi Need to login several times
Very spacious. Location is great. Lots of restaurants within walking distance. Clean and neat. Valets were excellent.
The coffe machine in our room didn't work and there weren't many pods for us to use. I had to call 3 times to ask for an iron and ironingboard and waited almost 1 hour. The bathroom only had 1 large towel despite the booking being for 2 people. We ate in the hotel restaurant, which was very understaffed and we found it difficult to get our waitor's attention and gget served. Our waitor was so rushed he accidentally dropped someone else's dirty cutlery on my dress. This left a grease stain, which even after going through the hotel's laundry service hasn't come out. I also had to call twice to ask for this to be done. Upon checking out we were not given a discount for my ruined dress and staff didn't seem to bothered about it. Also, staff had no information about when morning boat tours left the harbour and we think it would be good for them to work more closely with Tourist Information to provide a good service to customers.
The initial meet and greet service was good and the check-in staff were welcoming And helpful.
Not a good view from the room.
Very spacious and clean room. Friendly staff. Proximity to Waterfront and good Restaurants.
There is a rooftop bar and pool but the area is only small as is the pool and the sun beds are very close together.
We stayed in a spacious 2 bedroom apartment with the added benefit of hotel service. Room was cleaned daily and the towels were changed every day too. Tea and coffee was provided and there was an in room safe. Although the hotel is located on a busy road our room was very quiet. There is a restaurant on the ground floor, serving breakfast lunch and dinner and there is a great choice of restaurants and a supermarket near to the hotel. The staff were very nice and room cards are checked to allow access to the hotel. Free WiFi is provided and worked perfectly.
It was our honeymoon and we were treated like royalty. The hotel is in a great location and the staff is so attentive and helpful. It was one of the best hotel we have stayed.
Sky bar was disappointing in terms of quality of furniture and comfort and lack of choice of bar food
location near the waterfront and other amenities
The service, the room and comfort
Terrible parking. There is a large parking lot in the back of the hotel but unfortunately guests are not allowed to use it. The guest parking is only valet parking. The front of the hotel is usually very busy, and the valets have a bad attitude. One of them is particularly rude and made my arrival experience a nightmare. First experiences matter, and unfortunately that one was terrible. I took it up with the hotel's management, and hope that will take action.
Room was amazing. Spacious and well decorated. Beautiful and comfortable.
- huge appartment with two bedrooms and bathrooms, kitchen with washing machine/tumble dryer - very friendly staff - close to Waterfront and city center, some restaurants in walking distance
