location near the waterfront and other amenities
Sky bar was disappointing in terms of quality of furniture and comfort and lack of choice of bar food
The service, the room and comfort
- huge appartment with two bedrooms and bathrooms, kitchen with washing machine/tumble dryer - very friendly staff - close to Waterfront and city center, some restaurants in walking distance
Breakfast at Banting kitchen could be more 'Banting' buffet and better value.
Room with living room. Can cook and the location is good.very nice staff and very good service.
The bed seems can be more dryer. And the swimming pool is a smaller one on the roof of the building.
Location great but parking could be better. Really nice apartment.
The location is excellent. Easy access to the motorway by car, good parking and a short walk to the V&A Waterfront. Or, if you are heading out for a classy evening out and the ladies are wearing heels - there is the chauffeur drive to drop you off for a very reasonable fee. Used the Hop-on Hop-off bus for the first time and it proved to be an excellent way to get around, especially for the cable car to visit Table Mountain - you can buy the inclusive ticket which saves time when you get to the cable car.
The suite suited our family perfectly. Coffee machine in the kitchen was excellent
Pool and roof bar pretty average fit out and service.
Employees are very effective. room is big and clearn. A bit pricey though.
Water pressure was VERY low on 8th floor. There's no cooking equipment at all. We have to ask for almost everything. It's extremely inconvenient compare to the other family room from the other hotels.
reception, staff attitude ambiance
small glitches in the breakfast room
Given one wifi free voucher between 2 of us. It ran out in 24 hrs . Staff reluctant to give another . We were 2 people staying for 6 nights. We're told voucher should not have run out. Explained we only used wifi for e mails . Never used it for downloading or streaming. Staff attitude not good
The size of accommodation was excellent.
The staff couldn't follow through with requests and would say a manager would have to come back to us. This left us in a situation where our booking to have Christmas diner at the hotel was only confirmed late evening of the 24th December. I had personally spoken to the Manager who was on duty at lunchtime on the 23rd December 2014. He was not interested to find out about our lunch reservation and took no responsibility for an outcome; only quick to point out that he needed to fund out from the restaurant which was a few feet away. He just sat down behind the desk and when I intimated that we needed to know given the closeness of time he said the person who had the reservations book was not around. I was shocked at his attitude: exhibiting a high degree of unprofessionalism and not caring either way. Secondly the breakfast in the Banting restaurant was greasy and tasteless and not worth the money.
Staff went further and beyond to ensure we were comfortable.
WIFI was poor, couldn't pick it up in the apartment.
Loved the location - easy walk to Victoria and Alfred waterfront. The management staff were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us.
very unhappy with amount of noise even after moving room.
Size of room and location
Small overcrowded pool deck who ran out of stuff often Gym too pokey and spa closed
It was a fantastic stay with an awesome welcome by all the staff
Large and comfortable room. Good location for local supermarket ,restaurants and bars
I arrived and was advised to sit in the lobby and wait for the 1 check in assistant working that day. 20 minutes later I finally got spoken to They could not find my booking I had made the day before and 45 minutes after arriving I finally got told that the room was not ready and I would have to wait. The time it took for this process to happen is way too long for a 5 stat hotel.
Restaurant very poor compared to the hotel amenities. the view from our apartment very bad,
On the whole we were happy with our stay - there were some items we weren't happy with (see What didn't you like). The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable, and the housekeeping staff did a very good job of maintaining the room during our 10 day stay. We used the valet service which was very good. Having a self catering option (with a very nearby Woolies) was a great option for budgeting and eating healthy. Location was very good...would definitely look at staying again for any future visit.
There were a few things we weren't super happy about: - had to specially ask for cooking utensils (ie spatula, pans or pots) - No formal dining furniture despite images for a one bedroom suite suggesting this would be standard (next time I will specifically ask for this) - no sofa in the lounge area - only 2 not very comfortable single seat chairs which made it difficult to have friends to visit/relax during the day Be warned the hotel restaurant is an advocate of the Banting diet (which I had never heard of coming from Australia) this lead to a very disappointing breakfast experience...ie french toast without regular bread - they used a Banting bread which really isn't bread...just something to keep in mind when ordering from the hotel restaurant.
apartment very comfortable for 4 people kitchen sporting all modern amenities In all being home away from home Personnel very kind and guest oriented
Parking not included in the rate Limited/capped wifi (good speed though)
Normally I stay at the Cape Royal due to the comfort and layout of the rooms. - good service - good breakfast
The room (217) I stayed in is completely useless, the layout of the rooms makes it impossible to get a good night's sleep. The bed room doesn't have a proper window due to the fact that same is faced against the corridor. During my stay the kitchen service was poor, and it was very complicated to get a hold of the room service staff.
The hotel is designed with open corridors which means you hear every door open and close from every door/floor in the building. They had a private party on the rooftop which attracted more noise with loud music and loud visitors. Restaurant quite below expectations.
Location, spacious rooms, luxurious bathrooms.
The beds are really hard, windows rattle very loudly in the wind (don't seal properly), had to pay for laundry powder. Perhaps a couple of complimentary pods would have been a nice touch.
