Clean good location friendly staff helpful reception good wifi
The sofa in the lounge very uncomfortable The view from hotel room
- very large rooms - excellent service - green point is very nice with beach and waterfront walkable, green point park is amazing!
- too short stay - no more breakfast buffet
The rooms were clean and freshly remodeled in an upscale, modern style. A complementary shuttle was available to the V&A waterfront. The central location provided walkable access to many tasty coffee shops and restaurants, as well as the football stadium. The Sky Bar remained open during load shedding (scheduled power outage). They were able to provide a fan to provide white noise in the room for sleeping.
Upon arrival the air conditioning in our room was broken. It took 3 phone calls and an 45 minutes for the staff to arrive and determine it was broken beyond their ability to repair and promised it would be repaired the following day. The staff suggested that we open our windows, but the window in the second room opened to an interior hallway that was both uncomfortably warm and resulted in a loss of privacy. Several phone calls and a face-to-face meeting later, and they provided a fan for one room and sent our second occupant to another single room to sleep for the night. Due to the inconvenience, we were provided with a wine and cheese platter the following day. The fire alarm went off twice, once at 22:00 and again at 22:15, both false alarms that caused us to redress and walk down the stairs to stand outside. They also delayed our room service by over an hour. The internet requires passcodes that expire after 2 GB of data use. The initial passcodes provided were already expired, so we had to go to the lobby to get new ones. The in-room internet routers frequently crashed requiring us to unplug and replug them. Upon arrival the second phone in the bedroom was broken, but they replaced it the next day. Also, a TV remote was missing for the second bedroom, but they resolved that issue within the first hour. Service was courteous but slow because the hotel was full and due the false fire alarms. The Cape Town downtown district suffered 3 hours of load shedding one weekend evening while we were staying. Most restaurants in this area, including the hotel's, close early on weeknights, around 22:00.
Rooms were spacious and very comfortable. Kitchen facilities were good and a good shop was close by for everything we needed. The restuarant served us one of the best meals we have had in ages. Valet services were always friendly and helpful.
Access to the Internet in our room was extremely poor. We were on holiday but had to complete some work and it took ages for the problem to be resolved - in fact when we left after 3 days it still wasn't fixed completely. Our view was disappointing.
Great location, easy limo service with great drivers, very nice rooms
Did not have our room first night (but did upgrade us for that night to the Penthouse suite); fire alarm went off at 10:30 pm and no one seemed to know what was going on nor did they communicate to the guests about it; did not let us know in advance that there was going to be a city-wide power outage from 6-9 pm one night
Cleanliness and very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms very tidy and spacious. Assisted with late booking request for next month.
Reception area - too many desks, I first went to the first desk only to be told that my request for check-in will be attended to at the next desk to which I was moved to. I left the hotel not knowing what the other person in the first desk (located at the corner towards the dining area) does - as she/he didn't attend when checking-in or when checking out.
Location: close to great restaurants, cafes and supermarkets. Walking distance to the Waterfront and public transport to central Cape Town. Staff, especially porters and concierge, were efficient and amazing.
Only 2 people doing checkout which was very long. 2 other people were sitting alongside them but apparently they are in a different department but they were doing nothing. Management should really address this.
Our deal on Booking.com was excellent value for money. Location was superb overlooking Cape Town Stadium.
Good location, impressive lobby, friendly door men / concierge.
Every day of our stay (25-28 Nov) the roof top bar and pool would be closed from 3pm onwards to the hotel guests. No advance notice given, just a letter slipped under the door once we'd left our room in the morning. Each day they acted like it was a one off event which it clearly wasn't. Terrible water pressure - not worthy of 5 stars. On our last night the fire alarm went off four times at about 11pm, complete lack of organisation and protocol. Luckily it was a false alarm otherwise I dread to think the outcome.
Lovely spacious room and the staff were helpful
Size of suites, friendliness of staff, central location
Pool area could be nicer, rest of hotel has a very nice design but roof top would benefit from an upgrade
The view from Sky Bar. The size of the corridors. The security stuff always with a smile in face.
Nothing to complain.
Extremely noisy housekeeping staff shouting and crashing about from 7am on a Saturday morning Parking is a huge challenge They seriously hassled me to vacate the room on check-out, and then I had to sit and wait in the lobby for 20 mins, as there was only one person on duty who could help
Close to V & A, secure parking, friendly staff.
No dishes or anything to use. Not even a bottle opener. Shouldn't have to call a butler to get some, especially in a suite. Rooftop bar seems like an afterthought.
great location, only 10 min to waterfront very luxury appartment
our bedroom was facing the hallway and it was very noisy didn't have hot water the last day
the ambience was good and the place was comfortable.
the kitchen was not adequately equipped . if one made a request, not enough utensils were made available. they had only one bottle opener in the entire hotel premises. can you believe that ?? so we had to call them, they would come with opener, open a bottle and take it back.... I found that v ridiculous.
Convenient to the Waterfront shopping mall. A relatively glitzy lobby. Above- average sized rooms. On a busy thoroghfare- easy to find.
A nearly complete lack of privacy shades on windows leading to both the hallway corridorer, & towards the street below. Poor soundproofing was a big problem with the room. There was tge frequent annoyance of hearing neighboring room doors slam. Lack of carpeting or area rugs in room- had a negative effect on my ability to relax & sleep in the room. Unsympathetic & confrontational staff; in regards to neighbor noise dispute. When I rang the neighboring room's door, to ask the occupant/s to quiet down, I was physically assaulted. It was caught on CCTV. Instead of throwing the old man & his wife out; the next morning the rooms division manager shows up at my room unannounced. She is accompanied by hotel security, & demands to be let in. I am told that I had no business ringing on neighbor man's door- to tell him to quiet down. No corrective measures were taken whatsoever; for being hit twice by the neighbor.
This is a beautiful hotel, the building itself is so impressive. Our stay was really comfortable in one of the spacious apartments, the location is excellent & close to Waterfront.
The feeling of insecurity in the general area, which meant the short walk to the Waterfront was a little nerve wrecking and impossible after dark.
The rooms are excellent with a Kitchen area if you want to do your own catering,
Would like a in door pool.
On the main, most of the staff was very well trained and knew what to do. The entrance was exquisite and very welcoming. The shower was great! The entrance to the Room and the foyer was fantastic and created high expectations of what was to follow. Fantastic kitchen and appliances
The staff at the bar didn't look professional. Shirts were out of the pants and they also looked clumsy. I couldn't see a manager around, which could have led to the unprofessional manner that the staff looked. The quality of the towels was just poor, the bedside tables were of a very poor standard. They were old and chipped. The location of the bedroom was just wrong. I could hear very movement on the corridor. Which means the sound proof was also not good. I could not believe that the bed was a double bed. The linen was also of a very poor quality. The bedroom was just too tiny. It all just didn't add up because the kitchen was great and big but we didn't even use it. The couch, or what was supposed to be the couch in the living area was terribly uncomfortable. We could not relax in that area at all. I couldn't find a note pad in the entire room but there was a nice pen. The tv in the bedroom was the smallest tv I've ever seen in a hotel and I have been to a lot of hotels. I was very disappointed and didn't think that we got value for money. I honestly didn't mind not being in the hotel room and couldn't wait to leave. I won't miss the hotel or my stay there. I had an underwhelming experience.
Liked everything. Location superb. Two bedroom/two bath apartment close to CBD and waterfronyt could not have been better. We will always stay here when in the Cape
very plush, attentive staff who deal with problems quickly, well positioned to walk 10 mins to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront. kitchens in suites include full size fridge freezer, washer dryer, coffee machine, toaster, combi microwave and hob
booked 2 bedroom suite expecting dual aspect views from other info read but the second room has a window into the hotel corridor so couples only need a one bedroom room, also views of table mountain are really minimal.
well furnished and good location
Very expensive when we checked other hotels in the area.
Rooms were very big and equiped, anything the room didnt have you could phone up and ask. The trips arranged through the hotel were fantastic. Spa facilities superb.. All round lovely experience!!
the bathroom towels could do with being renewed!!!!
The location of the hotel was great and the staff were friendly and ready to help. The tour organisers were fabulous as was the pick and delivery service. The proximity to the V & A Waterfront was perfect.
The couch was uncomfortable in the stuio apartment and there could have been a range of utensils in the kitchen.
