This is a grand old house that is best described as well lived in. Needs a bit of updating. The pool needs some attention. Not at all inviting. I don’t understand why they don’t just get an expert in to give it a thorough clean without doing it themselves.
The staff are wonderful.

A real student town but also filled with international tourists so a good mix of places to suit both crowds. Some good value for money eateries such as Java and Die Vrije Burger, and also high end restuarants for those with a bigger budget. The mall has all the main shops and its easy to walk about town or even go by bike. Close to explore the wine areas around town , but also for a beach visit at The Strand. So close to beach and berg.
I liked the room with the terrace and also the complimentary bottle of red wine in the room.
The wine degustation was also very nice and for free.
The wines, in overall, are very tasty and you cannot go wrong with any of them. Our favourite was Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.
The staff was very helpful and the breakfest plenty and wider choice.
We also liked the fact that the property was not located in the Stellenbosch city but very close to the city, as it was surrounded by nature and quiet.
The most incredible staff and General Manager - everyone so hands on and attentive to the smallest detail. I have been in the hospitality, eventing and marketing industry for 35 years and the hotel was immaculate. The food and breakfasts were wonderful and reasonable. Spa on site an absolute win with wonderful therapists. Entry level rooms - Premium - where South Africans can afford deliver beyond expectations. Would not look anywhere else if you are wanting to explore the Stellenbosch area.
Almost everything about the Stellenbosch Hotel reminded me of being in western Europe. The staff is great, very helpful, friendly and always providing a personal touch. Breakfasts were very good with a wide variety to choose from. Undercover parking is provided. I would stay here again, and again. Very centrally located both in terms of Stellenbosch itself and access to the different wine routes.
This is an amazing place to stay for anyone visiting Stellenbosch. Nadine is a great host and was very warm in welcoming us. She also helped us book our wine tour and let us use her kitchen to fix ourselves a meal. The accomodation is very close to the city and Nadine had some great recommendations on things to do and restaurants to try. Would definitely love to come back and stay here again.
The hotel has the comfiest beds with lovely squishy pillows! There are 2 pools, each one getting the sun at different times of the day. It is located on a lovely quiet street, not far from the main town with all the restaurants/cafes/shops. Staff were so friendly and made us feel at home and there is a resident cat called Caroline!
Charming property in a terrific location. Room was spacious albeit not the most functional. Steps to one of Stellenbosch’s best restaurants, The Fat Butcher, and just minutes to many other terrific restaurants, supermarkets, and attractions. Relatively safe and very quiet.
The staff was friendly and responded promply to requests.
The location of the hotel is perfect in terms of easy access to restaurants and the CBD.
Room was clean and fresh.
Modern interiors appreciated.
What a lovely boutique hotel with amazing history. From dropping the car off to concierge to the bottle of red and chocolates left one evening, we had a lovely stay in the beautiful town of Stellenbosch.
Good hotel and location for exploring the vineyards in stellenbosch and Franschhoek! The views from the rooms are really amazing, the breakfast is fresh and good! The shower and bathtub are excellent!
Beautiful place, comfortable beds, friendly, supportive staff, no problems with electricity (I learned from my colleagues that it was a problem in Stellenbosch in other hotels), 24/7 reception
Beautiful hotel in the countryside, 10mn away from Stellenbosch
Adrian and his staff were very nice to us and gave us plenty of advices to visit the area
