The nature, activity range for children, food.
Nothing to complain really
The Hotel is old but that is its charm, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was superb, the walks in the mountains were scenic and we got some wonderful rest time.
The ability to enjoy the Draconsberg without losing creature comforts.
Quietness. Peacefullness. Nature and fresh air and the beautifull mountains. Sound of water around the hotel. Very nice Hotel!
We liked it all
So much to do but so little time. Staff are attentive and the facilities are ample. Whether you want to just relax or want to be physically active you can do both. The food variety and quality is unsurpassed, while the view is at all times breathtaking. An amazing stay Thank you
Some of the activities can be very expensive if you are travelling as a family. ie quad biking and the helicopter flips
Room was spacious and berg walks great
Hotel guests next door to us very rowdy till 3:00 am and food was ordinary for the price we paid.
A wonderful location with excellent friendly staff, good food and good quality accommodation
Situated in the berg . Peasefullness
Parking for vehicles not convenient for guests
Food - lunch & tea were terrible.Felt like I was back at boarding school. Too many people in too small a space. Considering what you paying per night they still make you pay for activities. Harry's Bar feels like your 'local' not a bar in the beautiful mountains.
All of it, considering we wanted to experience the mountains.
The last stretch of road leading there
New rooms well decorated dark curtains for late sleeping Go food
The trout did not bite.
Staff very helpful, great room, beautiful view.
GREAT FOOD AND PERFECT LOCATION!!! ROOMS WERE SPACIOUS AND WELL MAINTAINED. HIKING TRAILS ARE EASILY ACCESSIBLE FROM THE HOTEL. REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY
The hotel is amazingly beautiful, clean and peaceful. I love that it caters for adults and children. It is family friendly.
The service by the staff in the dinning room was not to my satisfaction. They were not easily available as per my observation.
My husband and I have been coming to Cathedral Peak for many years. We have tried all the other Berg resorts but nothing compares to Cathedral Peak. We love everything about it.
Everything was good - no bad comments.
That the hikes we not well signposted, but I think that's rather the reserve than the Hotel's problem.
Stunning beautiful location in the mountains Lots of activities
This is a biggish hotel and not a small boutique .... however it still works very well.
spectacular mountain scenery with superb services to match
we were given a very good rate to upgrade our room to a private bungalow which was incredibly beautiful. the view from the bungalow was indescribably beautiful. the room its self was immaculate and the bathroom in superb condition. the cleaning staff were thorough. the quad bike contracted service was also excellent with quads being in excellent condition and friendly guide. mid morning and mid afternoon tea and scones were excellent.
the food for a 4 star hotel was of poor quality, only a buffet available for dinner. the restaurant staff were confusing when it came to being seated- open tables were stated to be used by other guests for breakfast- we were there for dinner? restaurant staff also cleared the dinning area before stipulated closing times making a late meal impossible. there was no interaction between duty managers and guests, the quality of the Albert Bar food was very poor, food was stale, cold and undercooked.
Everything was great and we enjoyed our stay.
Only that when we walked a long the path there was a mess from the horses and we could not see look where we were going as we had to watch where we were walking
Situation of the hotel, staff and food at dinner time.
Weather at the time of our stay. Rain, rain, plus rain.
The peacefulness in the mountains!
