Chamonix Guest Lodge  

It was 10 minutes from ot Internetional Airport and getting there was prettty easy. Ideal if you arrive late into ot and need somewhere close. Chantel was fantastic and gave us a fantastic breakfast, and also helped us with a few admin problems (mobile SIM card, etc) on our arrival into SA. The room was lovely, newly decorated and having breakfast outside in the garden the next day after a long flight was lovely.

The hospitality of Chantal almost made me feel like I was visiting family. I arrived rather late at Johannesburg airport but their friendly driver was there to meet me. Chantal even made me a pot of tea when I arrived at my room. I invited (pre-arranged) a couple of friends for breakfast and they even commented how wonderful Chantal's hospitality was. This will be my regular overnight place when visiting from abroad.

We had a long trip from Kruger Park and were taking off the next morning at Tambo airport so we wanted something convenient to the airport and comfortable for a good nights rest. Although we had a little trouble finding Chamonix, after arriving we enjoyed a very warm welcome and the owner graciously upgraded our room to accomodate our repacking project. The room and bed were extremely comfortable and the full English breakfast by the pool and gardens were excellent.

A really comfortable guest house whose owner made me feel so welcome and helped me when my friends were unable to collect me at the correct time and made me a super sandwich without expecting payment. Thank you so much Chantal. I will come again sandra

Great location near the airport, lovely breakfast and lovely hosts

Chamonix = hospitality. Our stay there was great because of the warmth and attention to detail of our hostess. Eat IN--the food is delicious and reasonable! We took the shuttle service they offer (for 150 zar each way) to and from the airport for our one-night stay. It's a great B&B-- you leave feeling like a friend or member of the family.

We would have liked a bigger bed, as we are used to sleeping in a king bed, but other that that, everything was great.

Room damp and no breakfast.

The first impression i got was the friendliness of Chantell and Johann the owners of Chamonix, they were extremely helpful and easy going collecting me at the airport late at night. When I arrived at Chamonix, although the room was a little cold (the underfloor heating hadn't been put on) the room was beautifully laid out with some lovely finishing touches way surpassing a hotel of this price range that i have stayed in before. Rose petals on the towels, beautiful bed linen and a mini bar, DSTV, tea, coffee facilities and Chantel very kindly lent me her computer for the evening....there was also a hot water bottle in the wardbrobe and Chantel very kindly brought some decaf coffee through for me too....I was surprised how cold Johannesburg was and i found it difficult to enjoy a bath in the morning, and the underfloor heating doesn't really help much....but i am learning this is a whole SA issue unless there is full heating in building..Chantel very kindly made me exactly the breakfast i wanted instead of the cooked breakfast included in the price and was very easy and friendly to chat with over breakfast.I would highly recommend Chamonix and maybe I will also have the chance to return again. I was just a bit chilly on arrival and trying to bath.....apart from that no complaints....

The bed & breakfast has been thoughtfully designed and decorated together with the wonderful garden/patio area, the room was very comfortable as was the bath room complete with full size shower. Breakfast freshly cooked to order and plentiful. Highly recommended for anyone looking for good clean and welcoming accommodation close to the airport.
