Chapmans Peak Hotel  

The sea view room we stayed in was stunning. It was very big and spacious, had everything we required and more. We had an amazing view and were almost within touching distance of the sea. The restaurant and bar were of a high quality. A very relaxing experience and lovely to hear the waves all through the night and see all the cyclists/runners/walkers heading up the mountain or along the beach. A great base for a holiday in Cape Town.

Being a boutique hotel it does not have 24 hour service. So if you have a busy day and get back late in the evening or leave early in the morning you may not be able to get a meal or a drink. Reception was tucked away and was not always open although everything at the desk was handled well and with minimum fuss.

Breakfast could have been better No turn down service - even though specially requested (reception told me they couldnt pick that up from the online booking I made) and it was noted in the book on services about the hotel in the room

Restaurant food was second rate and certainly not good enough for a high rated hotel. Overcooked ans chips from frozen foods were found to be unacceptable Comments by staff to say that gratuity must be added to invoice refered to room number because they were broke not acceptable Overall a sad experience

Staff generally friendly and particularly the reception staff are exceptionally helpful and really go out of their way for you. Food magnificent. Location and views are superb. lovely beach 50 meters away

the experience depends on which side of the hotel your room is. One side is ocean view luxurious feel

One side of the hotel is smaller rooms with a view to a hill side giving it a feeling of a luxury dungeon... We did not like open plan bathrooms where the bath and even the toilet door is translucent and visible across the room

The way in which the hotel accommodated us after my wife broke her ankle - from lending us a computer chair as a makeshift wheelchair to providing ice at any time for ice packs. We were given a table with ample leg room and the staff provided cushioning etc. without any request. In all it was a perfect location which coped excellently with a guest suffering a traumatic injury on day 1 of her holiday. We will definitely return.

Room was large - spacious bathroom - good view

Very expensive price for what was offered - basic room with few extras - small fridge and no mini-bar - renovations underway whilst we were there (no notice of this) - asked to stay an extra hour (I.E. until 12 noon) for check out after 3 nights stay but told not possible even though booking.com sheet were were sent said checkout was between 11 and 12 noon (I.E. not 11 am precisely)

Food was amazing, the staff were professional and very welcoming. The seaside rooms are absolutely stunning,the design of the room with the open bathroom and wooden finish is very nice. The bed was very comfortable and extremely large. I would recommend this hotel to anybody.

The only thing we did not like was the card swipping in the elevator,in other words accessing the room quickly or the car quickly became a struggle. Also in terms of a fire emergency we were concerned about the card concept as well and there not being any stairs for an emergency.

The reception staff were great. The room was great.

The night service was weak as were the security staff who were sleeping on 3 out of 4 occasions I was in late.

The rooms setup is absolutely stunning, the designs are perfect! Had a lovely stay.

Nothing particular, just needs a mirror outside the bathroom with a plug for when you use a hairstraightner, otherwise perfect

The rooms were stunning - we had the sea view rooms on the 1st level and they were amazing. The staff were lovely and very accommodating.

Spacious rooms, beautiful views, quiet and relaxing location and yet only 20 minutes drive from Cape Town.

The only thing was that the WiFi service was intermittent.

Accueillant, luxueux,propre,aidant (se sont décarcassés pour nous trouver un local pour garer nos vélos).Baignoire avec vue sur la mer!!Bon resto le soir et petit dej-buffet du matin.

la localisation la chambre vue sur mer est magnifique la chambre elle même est fabuleuse le resto juste en dessous internet gratuit

Balkon hatte durch einen unmittelbar davor befindlichen Bergabhang keinerlei Aussicht. War Kelleratmosphäre. Schwimmbadwasser wurde zu wenig gereinigt

Très bon accueil, personnel sympa, le restaurant est très typique et propose une bonne nouriture. cet hotel est très bien situé pour la visite.

Il etait noté sur notre réservation "Vue sur la montagne" mais malgré ma demande nous n'avons pas eu de "vue sur la montagne" mais une vue sur les toits.....!

Frühstück zu Beginn noch nicht vollständig angeboten. Empfang und Hilfestellung für Gepäck gab es erst ab der Reception, wäre aber bereits ab hauseigener Parkgarage angebracht (Treppen etc.).

Quiet location of room at the back of the hotel on second floor. Helpful reception staff. Location of the swimming pool outside the second floor, overlooking the beach and mountains. Sunny terrace overlooking the beach. Quick access to Chapman's Peak Drive. Which is spectacular.

Bathroom is very modern which is good but no door and opaque green glass door to toilet - left a gap. Chairs on terrace are very low compared to table height with no cushions - they would be good on the wicker seats!
