Liked the mud huts was a nice experience. Good breakfast and dinner. The organised safarie drive was excelent and we enyoid vevery minut
Staying in a luxury mud hut Location Grounds The owners dogs
+ very close to Addo + off the road (quiet compared to other locations in the area) + pool, wifi-area and boma in front of the garden huts + sweet and cudly cats & dogs + partly very friendly staff
- you have to love the very rustic and authentic style of the (optically) very used huts - nothing for olfactory sensible
the atmosphere and the rondavels were great to sleep in. The 3 course meak was delicious. I could have stayed longer
Not much to do except to go on safari or just relax by the pool hwere wifi is free.
Our group loved everything! The rooms, the host, the grounds and the food. Not one complaint.
Nothing. Nothing at all!
The orange trees in the garden make it very aesthetic. Good breakfast, lovely dinner, tours to the Game Park are well organized. Our tour was really fun and pleasure with a very competent and friendly giude.
The water in the pool was very murky and not inviting. Except the game park there is no real place of interest in the closer area. Apart from that all was fine.
Mud huts, big size of the room, great shower, friendliness of staff, good dinner
Our mud hut was recently thatched, which meant a bit of a weird smell, but we were reassured that the smell will disappear over time. Wi-fi limited to a hotzone.
Friendly staff, good advice on what to do and good food. Fantastic location.
Authentic mud huts
The huts smelled strongly of creosote, so much so we had to launder our clothes after one night in the hut. This was not the first complaint of the smell we learned later. The food was distinctly mediocre, quantity was not a substitute for quality. Just seemed to be trying to do things on the cheap, though this was the most expensive overnight we had in SA.
I loved everything about it! Monique and the other staff members were extremely friendly and helpful! The setting is beautiful! Overnighting in the hut was a great experience and added to the whole African charm! The breakfast is very nice and I highly recommend staying for dinner!
Quiet Location close to the Addo Park, very friendly and nice Service - very delicious meals!
Close to Addo Park Cooperation with Criss Cross Adventures Dinner (Food and Setting)
Breakfast (limited options) Open bathroom Wifi
Tranquil Garden setting with mature trees great for relaxation and unwinding after road trip, planning next steps to explore locale and soaking up nature. Friendly helpful staff suggested other supper venues and routes. Tasty meals served with care. Wonderful pets Jack, Rascal, Peppa and cats
Rather dim lighting in luxury chalets Flooring also perhaps needs updating
Friendly and helpful staff who will book safaris and give other excellent advice Good food in the evenings and breakfast Clean and luxurious mud huts Good location for Addo National Reserve and other safaris
The only point was that the lighting on the complex needs reviewing and upgrading - for example movement sensitive security lights at the hut doors so you can see where to put the keys in in the dark! More use of LCD lights throughout would improve the lighting standards ( and reduce their running costs!)
Beautiful setting!!! Close proximity to Addo National Park Two unit family Cottages with connecting door were great Meals were delicious though service was slow due to lack of staff. Servers Worked very hard to serve everyone as quickly as possible.
Muddy access to family units needs straw or stone pathways Large wheel push carts would improve bringing luggage from parking area over bumpy terrain
We loved the whole mud hut african experience, the views, and the service......we are kosher food eaters and the staff were very very accomodationg about us eating our own food in the dining room. They tried to make our stay as easy as possible.
The outside areas are not well lit, it was a bit hard finding our way around. The Bathroom does not have a door, only a bead curtain...even after 28 years of marriage we found this a bit wierd ! No Tvs anywhere or radio....bring a book and get an early night!
Staff members are very nice and helpful. The style of accommodation is unique and very african. Their dog Jack is lively and we feel safe when he is around.
We dislike the Hazel restaurant near to the Lodge because you have to buy bread separately for your main course meal. And the tip is compulsory.
The warm and amazing help from all the staff, food was amazing and the whole lodge well situated and such amazing views and pool area. Most of all was the best safari drive, quad biking and canoeing ever and the tour guides so well spoken and knowledgable and sorry I think it was Steven or Steve and the man for the canoeing amazing chaps and well worth the visit thanks again and keep up the excellent work Zane & Gosia
Nothing to not like
- Friendly staff - Clean, spacious rooms in mudhuts - Large territory - Nice dog - Close to Addo Elephant Park
Nice location ideal for a visit at Addoo Elephant Park Nice garden and pool area Friendly staff
Roof beams in the huts have been painted with chemical wood preservative. Headaches next morning. Lot of dusts in the hut despite open windows. A door between bathroom and bedroom in the hut would be nice
Clay build cabins, with good beds. Spacious rooms. Friendly staff. Breakfast is excellent, both in quality and location. Good location towards the Addo Elephant park)
Bath facilities are very basic, and sometime no warm water. In our cabin there was a very strong smell of paint or a dissolving agent. If you don't like dogs or are allergic, the two house dogs are always around you. We took dinner twice here, but the quality is poor compare to the restaurants in the neighboorhood. (those are at 10 minutes drive)
Pretty with an African feel and lovely pool
everything - we can definitely recommend a stay at Chrislin's and will certainly return !
Feel of authentic african accomodation, nice details in room. Very helpfull staff. Surroundings are beautifull.
The road which brings you to Chrislin is very poor. There are no mosquito nets inside the room, which would've come in handy in the room.
