Thought there were walking tracks from Clairewood but in fact there is only one track down to the river which is nice but hard to find as there is no signage on site. Hard to find your chalet. We didnt have internet so couldnt print off map
Lovely setting. Nice pool area but due to rain couldnt use the facilities.
What tainted our stay was that when we arrived we couldn't get in the gate - we tried calling the number provided, only to be given another number but got no response. Finally someone else came out the gate so we were able to get in, but then drove around as there were no signs to where to go to check in! Although we fully understand the need for security, sending an email prior to booking with the gate code and details of where to go on arrival would avoid this. Also need to make sure that someone answers the phone as although the location is beautiful, this meant our stay got off to a bad start.
The location was wonderful and the pool is great. The rooms are very nicely done and it's extremely peaceful. We only stayed one night, so didn't get a chance to go on the walks. Once we had found someone to check us in, they were friendly and the information provided in the room was useful.
Upon check in no one answer the lodge phone. We were standing outside the gate with no access code in the rain. I tried randomly pushing numbers - and opened the gate by luck.Kingfisher is only a room, not even a microwave oven. No light outside - only a very old worn down indication that the light is out of order. In the bathroom the light at the mirror has beautiful notice on how to operate - please don't touch it - I had a electric shock.
The area is beautiful. Peaceful. I will stay here again, but in a self catering unit. I wasn't aware that the set up is like this, I thought its a guesthouse.
Apartment was small and humid, no hot water on first day, floor dirty onfirst say, dstv didn't work at all
Location and gardens are great, lovely short walks nearby
The TV is located in such a way that a tall person could bump his head easily.
A luxurious chalette in a beautiful location; stretched out lawns, ponds and the forest beyond. Well equipped kitchen, huge bathroom, quality linnen, inside fireplace and outside braai.
There was nothing we didn't like. Beautiful spot, well equipped chalet- all that was missing was something o make proper coffee in- French press/ cafetiere would complete it for me.
Love the location. Grey Heron was a little bit of luxury. George was a great guide to the walks on site. We loved the pool and the views.
- nice and relaxing place in the middle of nature - trails
Would have liked a small stove in unit.
Great place. Great views of mountain. Lovely walks.
The views and tranquility were awesome. The unit was well equipped, clean and the beds and bedding 5 star.
