Loved everything about it
The picture supplied on-line for the self catering Villa not the one we received. Front door and towel hook behind the door to be fixed. Shower small.
We stayed in the Self catering Villa amazing views.
It is very nice, but a bit pricy compared to other estates/lodges with similar standards, and the reception staff wasn't always overly helpful.
Located on a hill, you have a great view of the surrounding vineyards and mountains, and with separate fully equipped guesthouses and with two different pool areas for relaxation. The lunch was very good and they also have an opening to the neighbouring Delaire Graff Estate where we had a walk on the vineyard and a very luxurious dinner.
Service was a bit slow, but the staff were courteous. The WiFi was also slow. Our room was at the entrance to the hotel so there was a bit of noise.
Wonderful large room with huge, comfortable bed and a stunning view from inside and from the patio. Spotlessly clean and stylish furnishings. Beautiful view from the non-heated infinity swimming pool.
Great setting, beautiful scenery - gutted we couldn't stay longer!
My only deception was the dinner, it need a little upgrade. Other wise everything was just perfect!;)
The pool was dirty and the gardens sound the pool were messy with litter and the lawn was overgrown, not what you would expect during peak season and for a top notch estate.
Great room Great view Good breakfast
Breakfast is a bit expensive for what you get.
Stunning views, wonderful location.
Staff training needs to be better, particularly around the food.
My wife and I enjoyed the Clouds estate for the scenery, service, modern architecture and artwork around the property. Highly recommend 2-3 nights.
Nothing apart from the Bathroom door didn't close properly
Absolutely perfect place to stay, rooms amazing and staff very helpful.
The peaceful and relaxing surroundings. Wonderful views over the mountains from, all parts of the hotel. Food of a very high standard
The "Deluxe Villa" is nothing more than a self catering unit and I felt like I was robbed. Price was 3 times higher than i would have paid. None of the pictures we saw online is actually what we got. Just didn't feel like we got what we paid for (fake nespresso capsules and other obvious and tacky cost saving techniques). No dressing table and the only full length mirror is inside the wardrobe, which doesn't open as it's obstructed by the bed. Owners should be ashamed of charging ZAR3000.00 a night for a place like this.
The mountain view were stunning.
Too quiet at dinner and the staff were a little stretched on the night we ate. Pool could have been heated and a little more time on arrival to show art and history of the estate would have been nice.
The hotel and chalet style rooms were contemporary, bulging with modern art and quirky. The views were impressive and the quietness and general relaxed environment was wonderful. Staff were pleasant and service was first rate.
Seemed short staffed at times, eg not answering the phone when trying to order room service. No fitness facilities / pool to small to swim in.
Amazing location and views, staff were very helpful, lovely complimentary bottle of wine on arrival and great villas. Food also good and provided great maps of the wine areas/ vineyards
The view of course is the high point , literally- surrounded by mountains and beauty, but they've done a wonderful job with the spaces and feel and decor
Thought it lived up to its 5 star rating. Spacious breakfast very high quality . Loved the fact that everything in the bar fridge was complimentary .
Only a couple of very minor things: Whats warm to a Brit isn't to a South African and had to initially ask for cushions to be put back on outdoor furniture. Asked for the mini bar to be restocked before we went for dinner, but it hadn't and had to hunt for staff on our return.
Seclusion De Graffe restaurant by buggy Scenery Breakfast cooked to order Complimentary mini bar Beds so comfy we noted the manufacturers. Once staff knew we were staying out to enjoy the sunset and stars, they brought us blankets, snacks and a lamp - little things. Totally fills that "gonna need a holiday after this holiday" having spent 2 weeks in Cape Town.
Compared to other forms The price was high The restaurant was bad
Amazing views. Brilliant service and overall a fantastic experience. Really great location for visiting Stellenbosch and Franschoek.
