Electric blankets were put on for us.thanks
We got back late from a Wedding and fire was not put on as promised, also dirty tea cups were not cleared or replaced when the bed was turned down
The Resident Manager, Sumanth made my stay - he is extremely service orientated and goes the extra mile to make you feel special. This is what makes this hotel
There was no SABC channels on the TV or a TV Guide for the 10 Dstv channels options
Although a little Pricey, we love to come here to have a break , something we don't often get to do, so we enjoy the complete quiet and bliss of the Place!
The day we have to come home!
The venue and setting.
No room service menu for small meals only the main set menu at R250 per person. The bathroom will need some maintenenace very soon.
loved the fireplace in the bedroom, the ducks waddling around and the serenity.
Most definitely the very cold and uncomfortable bathroom, just dampened the mood.
The "extra large bed"
Peacefull quiet location. Nice fireplaces in each room - to relax by
The food was appaling. items on the menue were not available Dulstroom is known for fresh Trout, It was taken off the menue - that suddenly available - but when it arrived on the plate it was dry and unappetising- probably frozen.
Goog location, walking distance from other attractions in small village. Good food.
great location very scenic staff are friendly and helpful fireplace in each room with real wood fires our first room had no hot water but we were moved to another room without question
found it to be overpriced some fittings in the rooms are worn/tatty lakeside facing outside porch of the room was dirty - furniture was dusty and the floor had not been swept (leaves and spiderwebs)
The dinner was not nice at all. We asked for medium-rare fillet and we got well done meat that was dry. This also happened the previous time we visited. The chef should be replaced or should attend training especially in preparing meat. Not acceptable. Breakfast display was taken away while we were still busy enjoying breakfast!! It was still early and there came a family for breakfast while we were there and they did not even get anything from the display as it was taken away - they had to choose only from the menu - this is unfair as we all pay the same amount for breakfast. They should just do something about the food/chef urgently. The wine list is disgusting. Needs updating urgently. They must contact wine farms like Durbanville Hills and La Motte and Neethlingshof for wines.
Peaceful, near town, but not too near. Quiet setting with lake in grounds. Good food for dinner and breakfast.
No wifi in the room
Beautiful setting and nice facilities
Service was awful. Meals arrived staggered over a period of 1 1/2 hours and many were uncooked and cold.
Location Character of buildings Surroundings ok to stay - eat somewhere else manager did respond to complaints
slow service cold food insufficient staff in bar and restaurant bad management of restaurant no water - pipes not protected from freezing faulty electrical appliances in room
There was a very loud group that came back to the hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning. They were very disruptive and noisy.
Staff friendliness. Clean room, fresh linen and towels. Great breakfast.
Reception area needs a sprucing up.
Under floor heating, bathroom Warm blanket Nice warm room
Loved the peaceful setting and proximity to shops. The breakfasts were excellent value and the dinner menus had a good variety. All the meals were excellent!
Very well appointed rooms. The fire was laid for us Good assistance in getting to the room even with the luggage
Limited amount of fire wood for the open fire. Rather long waiting times at breakfast while we were the only guests in the dining room. Lack of small meals on the room service menu
location, setting, peace and quiet,
duvet, would prefer blankets
We arrived to be told that we had been upgraded to a suite - what a pleasant & welcome surprise. The staff were exceptional - very friendly & accommodating. Our waiter Joseph was brilliant - served the food from the right hand side of the Guest, & was politely friendly. In fact he was also our valet helping us (an elderly couple) with our luggage and orientation guys with our room facilities. Bathroom was excellent with warmed floor - luxury!
The road through Belfast was in ruin - indeed, as it had been on our last visit to this area 7 years ago! Nothing seems to have changed! We were there on one of the warmer nights and unfortunately I did not think to check if there was a blanket as opposed to the duvet on the bed - as a result we both woke up feeling suffocated at 2:00 in the morning and only had a small "comforter" from the foot of the bed to use instead. I ended up using one of the bath sheets on top of that which proved adequate. But an alternative to the duvet would make a huge difference.
Loved the cozy log fires in the room over a cold, misty weekend. Comfortable bed, centrally situated in the heart of Dullstroom. Beautiful setting around a clear trout dam.
loved the fire (!), location, lake, the breakfast, and the staff.
no wi-fi in the room even though hotel staff said it would indeed work. other rooms complained of the same issue
comfortable beds clean lake yummy breakfast
better dinner options, only 3 course meal available without the option of only ordering one meal
We arrived at the hotel and apparantly our booking wasn't on their system and after me showing them my email confirmation with pmt, they sorted it out, got the idea they put us in the last room they had available which clearly has not been prepared for guests, carpet full of old dirt and not dusted in a while, an old dirty smudge on the throw , no pamphlet stating the reception nr if needed, we were just shown our room. Had to go back to reception and find out about breadfast times etc, every where we frequent hotels it's standard professionalism to advise your guests, why not here? something wrong with fireplace as well, instead of smoke going upwards and out it blew straight into the room, needless to say it was a sleepless night with all the smoke, or else the wood was wet!!! I am really one of those persons that oversee a lot of things, cause sometimes things can go wrong.......but this was too much keeping in mind we paid so much for a night ! We were promised a discount for all the discomfort......lets see!!
The quietness, private rooms and the fireplace in the rooms.
A bit overpriced.
