location-mandela square and sandton city
lots of noise from staff cleaning rooms, noise from doors of neighbours when opened as doors are too close
Proximity to transportation
COULD HEAR THE DOOR ADJACENT TO MINE EACH TIME IT CLOSED.
Very good location right in Sandton City close to shopping and restaurants, rooms are well furnished and comfortable, staff is friendly and helpful
Not much to dislike.
Staff are efficient and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are modern and very comfortable. Nicely appointed bathrooms, comfortable beds and the hotel always makes sure I have my preferred type of pillow.
Because of the design of the rooms, when the door to the next door room closes you hear it clearly, a bit of a nuisance when your next door neighbour insists on slamming the door quite frequently and often late at night!
The door of the room bang with a terrible noise so when a client in the neighboring room comes late at night you inevitably wake up. Do something that the doors don't bang!
Staff were very helpful and friendly, the hotel is also centrally located with easy accesiibility to shopping and amusement facilities
we came with 2 children and also we ask in advance to preper beds for the children the bed was not ready we arraived at pm we ask again to preper the beds and only at 8 pm the staff started to preper the beds while we were waiting in the room
Location, just about 5mins from the train station. Also located next to the Nelson Mandela shopping centre
My flight was in the evening, I asked to check out late. To be honest, although I understood that the hotel was fully booked, the staff didn’t seem to make an effort to accommodate me or to help. I’ve stayed in other hotels in that area who in a similar situation managed to accommodate me. It felt like the staff just wanted to get rid of me at 10:00AM. This is the only issue I had with my stay there.
Room, breakfast and location were brilliant
Misquote on some services but it has been remedied
We stayed in an airy and sunny room 833.The staff is very helpful organising drivers for us to visit special places like Soweto and Nelson Mandelas houses. And when I thought I had lost an item they went out of their way to search, contact us and report. All turned out good Linsey being ever so helpful.
Shopping mals and restaurants around Davinci
Mirrors every where doesn't give homely feeling
Sytle/decoration of the room
The swimmimg pool is to open to people passing by or eating in the restaurant therefore no moment to enjoy it
I loved the room and service of the staff was Excellent!
They were not able to offer late checking out and wanted to charge a full day rate if I checked out at 4 pm. I think they should be flexible to cater for such need
Staff attention to booking details
Early check out 10 am
one of the best choice hotel in the Nelson Mandela Square. Helpful and friendly staffs. Nice breakfast and clean and comfort room.
House keeping began shouting outside rooms from 8am on a Sunday despite a DND sign being put up. They proceeded to vacuum which could also be heared in the room ensuring that you could not sleep.
The Black and White theme.. Very retro
More of a business users hotel and didn't warm to the location of the restaurant . The bedroom doors are 2 together so noisy if you had a neighbour.
The staff were extra-ordinarily great, charming and ever there to give you a lending arm. At a time I forgot to lock the vault in my room, I was just too surprised to found the room cleaned, re-arranged but non of my valuables were missing from the vault. This is highly commendable
I got no access to pay-tv that I am used to. It makes the room boring for me as I do not enjoy most of the TV programmes, except the news stations.
Great position with very good shopping mall below hotel.
Some rooms on 7th floor share a terrace (for accepted smoking outside) - something most other rooms don't have. Some rooms do have spacious and entirely separated bath rooms with shower and bath tube, others have less comfort. Excellent service and hospitality.
Room doors always paired and clairaudient (frequent room services). Lower level floors facing 5th street pretty noise from street and construction work around (better for rooms facing Nelson Mandela Square). AC in rooms can only be lowered but not completely switched off.
The restaurant is well below par. Both stays food average.
Porters very helpful, polite and welcoming reception, excellent location, within walking distance from Gautrain station and the many restaurants of Sandton City. Comfortable beds and pleasant rooms with everything anyone may need.
People in next room kept on slamming their door, the hotel should have a look at this and add foam pads to the doors to prevent the discomfort to others. I am amazed at how arrogant people can be by slamming their doors every time they go to their room :/
