Wifi not consistent in the room
the wi fi was better in this hotel than in all other Cape Town Hotels where I stayed during my 5 weeks in the City.
Walking up many flights of stairs, having to be buzzed in/out of the hotel/creakiness of the old wood floors
Access to free wifi and Computer. The welcome drink.
the bed was making a noise at every turn
Location is excellent, cafe next door really good for breakfast. Rooms comfortable and clean. Outstanding help from staff.
The welcome from Sean at Reception was great and there it ended.
The room smelt of old smoke. All the hanging plants in the atrium are dead. This a not a boutique hotel - merely a dated hotel trying (and not succeeding) to be arty. The "Rooibos" amenities in the bathroom have a very chemical smell. The overall feel of the entire place is shabby. Very depressing stay.
Really cool staff Code station Smoking sections
Floors can be noisy
The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times - especially Mannie!
You don't get to see a view of the city - all windows open up to the inner buildings which is a shame because we are in Cape Town to see the mountain!
Staff were very helpful, great location.
the sheets needed renewing. They used to be white.
Friendly helpful staff, good location, clean, interesting design, good value
Staff did not make us feel welcome, there's no TV, everthing is cramped up in the room, no cupboards for clothes, you get a railing with x2 hangers. Needs a new mattress, you can feel every spring in it which leaves your body aching in the morning.
Location is good . Room are comfortable
I loved the vibe and the staff was very friendly, they arranged by transportation and even helped me rent a car
The room I was in "The Emergency Room" was a bit surreal and not suited to me travelling alone on buisness. Mirrors on 4 walls from floor to ceiling and nurse/doctor pillows are a bit more suited when travelling with your lover.. Also, from the room there was no noise from the street but you could hear anything happening in the corridor/stairs or rooms nextdoor..
Especially the helpfulness of the staff
I like the friendly welcome and the safe feeling
The noisy bed and " no we didn't"
Decor is very interesting. Very central. Nice staff. Close to all major sites. Decent pricing.
The area can be a little dodgy after dark on week nights.
Excellent service, clean place situated at a great location
the hotel is well located within walking distance to good restaurants Staff were friendly
No Coffee facilities in room - have to go outside to shared usage area Wifi only in designated areas not in room No TV Staff could not find room key when I checked in even though that morning I had advised of arrival time Parking was on the street - was not sure of safety Pillows and beds a bit tired and in need of refurb No breakfast included With all of the above I could have stayed in Backpackers for same facilities (or better) for half the price
Quirky rooms with themes very cool, great beds and bathrooms. Lovely helpful staff!!
Good coffee but no breakfast
Awesome, funky hotel. Great vibe and the location is excellent.
very VERY friendly and helpfull staff. location is great, right in the middle of restaurants and bars. rooms are nice, complementary coffee and tea
No parking space available, even though it said so. Parking costs about R108 per day. Rooms are a bit noisy.
location value for money good mattress clean friendly staff
no secure parking available no option of a breakfast bed a bid small
Very noisy - not just noise from outside but from inside the hotel. Far too expensive for what it is. After I booked two rooms I called to ask about the parking - the duty manager told me that there was only one room available. Luckily Booking.com were able to sort this out for me. There was very little privacy between the room and the toilet, just an opaque sliding door with large gaps at the edges. The internet connection went off halfway through the stay and didn't come back on. The idea for the rooms is interesting but it's very tired now. More like an upmarket backpackers, not really a 'boutique hotel'.
friendly staff, helpful, close to the waterfront
next door neighbours were very noisy, not enough insulation against noises in the rooms...
The hotel is very unique and the room was very different! The complimentary coffee and biscuits was also nice.
The staff could be a bit friendlier.
