Location was excellent and staff was very friendly and helpful. Good and consistent Wi-Fi. Each room had a unique design which was cool.
Walls were pretty thin. Rooms were pretty small.
The "Art Hotel" is a nice idea, however the room that I was assigned looked like a grade 5's art project and was tired and badly in need of a coat of paint. There was no table or chair and only a standing rail to hang your clothes on. This might be novel for teenagers but too impractical for comfort.
Staff was friendly
On the website it look so much better than in reality, it's definitely too expensive!
Clean room and friendly staff.
Wifi was spotty.
Very friendly service. Nice atmosphere and nice and individually designed room!
The booking.com platform made me belief, that I reserved a specific room, but at the reception we were told, that the hotel does not take reservations for specific rooms unless you talk to them directly. So this is not a criticism about the hotel, but the booking platform. So we were a bit disappointed about the room we got but the hotel personnel was very friendly and rearranged to give us a differs room for the 2nd and 3rd night!! Thanks again:-)
Centrally located, nice rooms
No breakfast facilities, partly compensated with coffee and tea facilities
the room we were in had the sailor's theme. Everything felt like on a boat. All details we discovered each day. :-) The location is juqt perfect for people who want to enjoy the vibes of Long street...
That they were overbooked and we couldn't stay more...
Location and free drinks.
The mattress was very uncomfortable. And no secure parking.
The atmosphere and staff made the stay a homey and comfortable one
the friendliness of the staff and the location of the hotel.
liked every bit of the place.
Helpful staff, they will try their best to assist you on that you need in town.
Wifi not consistent in the room
the wi fi was better in this hotel than in all other Cape Town Hotels where I stayed during my 5 weeks in the City.
Walking up many flights of stairs, having to be buzzed in/out of the hotel/creakiness of the old wood floors
I liked the friendliness of staff, loved my Freshly Ground room and the location was superb!!
Access to free wifi and Computer. The welcome drink.
the bed was making a noise at every turn
Location is excellent, cafe next door really good for breakfast. Rooms comfortable and clean. Outstanding help from staff.
The welcome from Sean at Reception was great and there it ended.
The room smelt of old smoke. All the hanging plants in the atrium are dead. This a not a boutique hotel - merely a dated hotel trying (and not succeeding) to be arty. The "Rooibos" amenities in the bathroom have a very chemical smell. The overall feel of the entire place is shabby. Very depressing stay.
Really cool staff Code station Smoking sections
Floors can be noisy
The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times - especially Mannie!
You don't get to see a view of the city - all windows open up to the inner buildings which is a shame because we are in Cape Town to see the mountain!
Staff were very helpful, great location.
the sheets needed renewing. They used to be white.
Friendly helpful staff, good location, clean, interesting design, good value
Staff did not make us feel welcome, there's no TV, everthing is cramped up in the room, no cupboards for clothes, you get a railing with x2 hangers. Needs a new mattress, you can feel every spring in it which leaves your body aching in the morning.
Location is good . Room are comfortable
I loved the vibe and the staff was very friendly, they arranged by transportation and even helped me rent a car
The room I was in "The Emergency Room" was a bit surreal and not suited to me travelling alone on buisness. Mirrors on 4 walls from floor to ceiling and nurse/doctor pillows are a bit more suited when travelling with your lover.. Also, from the room there was no noise from the street but you could hear anything happening in the corridor/stairs or rooms nextdoor..
Especially the helpfulness of the staff
