The gardens are an absolute delight even by Franschhoek's standards, an absolute oasis of calm.
This place was newly renovated in a very aesthetic Way - good location! Highest recommendation.
Great staff, excellent breakfast, very nice layout. As Capetonians it is now our preferred Franschoek B&B.
Absolutely brilliant location, just a few minutes from the Main Street with restaurants etc. Fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. Also there are two swimming pools and excellentgrounds to relax in. The owner went out of his way to make sure we had an enjoyable stay.
Design and interior of the guesthouse Garden and pools Excellent quiet location near the town's restaurants and bars
Garden was excellent. Comfortable seating. 2 pools. Very helpful staff. Very good breakfast. Rooms very clean.
Room small ( room1 ) hanging rail for clothes but no shelves/drawer for anything else. Had to keep things in case.
Good picturesque location in the center of Franschhoek with the view on the surrounding mountains. Very friendly owner and delocious breakfast. B&B was made in old Victorian style inside the rooms
Yves is the most warm and welcoming host. He single-handedly refurbished this beautifully situated guesthouse in the center of Franschhoek. The views are outstanding, the breakfast is delicious and the two pools offer far more than just a welcome refreshment.
We booked 4 rooms for one night at this gem which was perfectly located for us to make the most of our short stay. Being in the heart of town we were able to walk to the wine tram for a day of wine tasting and walk across the road for a fine-dining dinner. The guesthouse is a beautiful oasis from the bustle of the town centre with friendly staff. Planning the next visit already.
Rooms; breakfast; staff; decor; garden and pool.
Wonderful quiet place with in a busy village. Ooh that breakfast...And if you habe ans question: Ask Yves! The wonderful chief
To leave this oasis...
Close to everything, owner and staff extremely helpful and are working hard to make it a pleasant place to stay.
Perhaps more than just an egg for warm breakfast.
We had unfortunately a short stay but Yves took great care of us. The room was genuinely nice and special. The breakfast was delicious. And the nice garden and pool area was calling out to us to stay. Just a block away from the main streets restaurants it's just a perfect location. We will try and return for a longer stay during future trips.
The new owner was amazing. I highly recommend this place!
The guesthouse is so close to the city center, but not noisy at all. It is so relaxing and tranquil with very impressive attention to detail, like breakfast served right at your door. Loved our stay!
We were warmly welcomed and had a nice stay. Friendly staff, friendly new (!) belgian owner, good breakfast, enough distance to the main street to have a calm night, but central enough to reach everything by feet. THX very much
Looking out at the mountains and being able to walk into town. Spacious room and nice gardens
Nowhere to hang your clothes or your towels in the bathroom. Difficulty to accessing power point for charging and hairdryer. Not having any information like checkout time/breakfast times/contact in case of emergency.
The passion and friendliness of the new owners (we were their first guests), the position in the town (an easy walk everywhere), room 7 (huge and very comfortable), the breakfast (first class), off-street parking (the town is busy and parking is usually a problem). All in all, a lovely place to park off and relax in convivial surroundings. Highly recommended - we'll be back - if they'll have us!!
Not that I didn't like it at all because the Victorian bath is lovely and my wife enjoys a long soak but, my preference is for a shower and room 7 doesn't have that. It didn't detract from my overall impression of Auberge Bligny, so as I say, not a criticism at all.
Very welcoming, attention to detail and breakfast in bed as a special request was wonderful.
Just off the Main Road, Clean rooms and friendly staff.
Very friendly welcome to a traditional homestead. Excellent location, just off the Main Street but very peaceful
The only point was our room didn't have its own patio BUT the staff were fantastic and patient. Highly recommended. It is one of those places that you want to tell everyone about but you want it to be a secret as you always want them to have a room for you when you return !
Cozy backyard, excellent location, ok breakfast
The owner was uninspired and it didn't seem like she wanted to run a guesthouse at all. Omelette was aweful.
Loads of atmosphere
Atmosphere at the cost of comfort, but quite expensive.
Pool and garden. Interesting house. Proximity to Main Street. Good breakfast. Good parking. Quiet. Easy access.
Duvet too warm. Bathroom a little tired.
