We were warmly welcomed and had a nice stay. Friendly staff, friendly new (!) belgian owner, good breakfast, enough distance to the main street to have a calm night, but central enough to reach everything by feet. THX very much
Looking out at the mountains and being able to walk into town. Spacious room and nice gardens
Nowhere to hang your clothes or your towels in the bathroom. Difficulty to accessing power point for charging and hairdryer. Not having any information like checkout time/breakfast times/contact in case of emergency.
The passion and friendliness of the new owners (we were their first guests), the position in the town (an easy walk everywhere), room 7 (huge and very comfortable), the breakfast (first class), off-street parking (the town is busy and parking is usually a problem). All in all, a lovely place to park off and relax in convivial surroundings. Highly recommended - we'll be back - if they'll have us!!
Not that I didn't like it at all because the Victorian bath is lovely and my wife enjoys a long soak but, my preference is for a shower and room 7 doesn't have that. It didn't detract from my overall impression of Auberge Bligny, so as I say, not a criticism at all.
Very welcoming, attention to detail and breakfast in bed as a special request was wonderful.
Just off the Main Road, Clean rooms and friendly staff.
Very friendly welcome to a traditional homestead. Excellent location, just off the Main Street but very peaceful
The only point was our room didn't have its own patio BUT the staff were fantastic and patient. Highly recommended. It is one of those places that you want to tell everyone about but you want it to be a secret as you always want them to have a room for you when you return !
Cozy backyard, excellent location, ok breakfast
The owner was uninspired and it didn't seem like she wanted to run a guesthouse at all. Omelette was aweful.
Loads of atmosphere
Atmosphere at the cost of comfort, but quite expensive.
Pool and garden. Interesting house. Proximity to Main Street. Good breakfast. Good parking. Quiet. Easy access.
Duvet too warm. Bathroom a little tired.
Best breakfast we have had during our tour of garden route. Fluffy white towels, great location. Lovely old building with character. Comfortable bed but very flat pillow provided.
Franschoek has lots of large flying crickets which do get into the house and did disturb both our nights there. Dead insect was still in the bathroom after the room had been cleaned so did not give confidence that the room had been properly cleaned and sprayed. We had the twin room which only had a shower head over a bath so could not get a shower.
charming old building, beautiful garden,
interior gloomy, furniture & installations tired, no WiFi
Location, friendly helpful owners
Beautiful stay and awesome suite. Loved the location and can walk everywhere in the town. The staff was very friendly and so welcoming. Breakfast was a nice treat with delicious and fresh fruit, omlets, cereal and muffins/breads. Highly recommend this lovely place. The gardens are beautiful and great views.
We only booked one night. We would have loved to have stayed longer.
Right in town and quiet!
almost all !! Friendlyness!!
TV only tv1,2,3 & E The bed, uncomfy and noisy very"old style "
Friendliness, availability and readiness to accommodate all requests of Frieda and Jack (his omlets are the best).
Room cleaning staff's in-attention to detail
2 min walk to main street of franschhoek - very practical! gorgeous garden & pool to relax in on a hot afternoon beautiful old house filled with history
