Cheese platter! Local cheeses are awful and a "luxury" establishment should offer the discerning traveller a greater selection. Local is not always lekker.

Lovely old "counry house" style hotel. Staff are so friendly and want to please. Very hands on manager who wants you to enjoy your time there. Had a very good meal in the evening. Would certainly recommend.

Christopher and the staff were very attentive and friendly. The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and our room was very nice. The food was first class and the attention to detail from the booking stage to when we left was second to none. I cannot praise this hotel highly enough. Would definitely return.

Mooie kamer met lounge. Fantastische ontvangst met welkomsdrink : wijn van het huis Dame aan de receptie sprak Engels en uitstekend Frans. 's Avonds persoonlijk verwelkomd door de kok Chrisopher die ook de managers was. Mooie kaart en gezellige, rustige achtergrondmuziek Zeer uitstekend ontbijt : dit was het meest complete ontbijt van onze Afrika reis. Er waren zelfs croissants en boterkoeken ! Wifi zwak op de kamer maar wel op het terras

Wifi zwak in de kamer Het licht in de kamer was een spaarlamp waardoor je minder verlichting had en de kamer wat koeler leek !

The De Dornkraal is an unexpected gem and the staff are superb and go beyond the norm and deliver a fantastic product from teh welcome glass of chilled wine after a hot day in the car to Christopher's superb meals, it is a pace to be treasured and enjoyed. We will return and it will be our pleasure.

What can we say! Chris (Chef) the manager & all the staff could not have done more for us and were very thoughtful regarding our wedding anniversary. Our arrival & stay was very pleasant & the food was glorious. Thank you very much.

Christopher, the manager and chef de cuisine, welcomed us in person as if we were part of the family whom he had not seen for a long time. On top, the garden is beautiful and the food excellent. It was a really nice and relaxing stay. We strongly recommend this pearl of tranquility and friendliness.

Kapholländische Gutshäuser mit komfortablen Gästezimmern in ruhiger Lage am Stadtrand. Chef Christopher Peppas sorgt in seinem Wingerdt-Restaurant für hervorragende Küchenleistungen, die freundlichen Mitarbeiter für besonders aufmerksamen Service in allen Bereichen und einen angenehmen Aufenthalt. Selbst die Anwesenheit eines Regierungsmitglieds mit seiner Entourage beeinträchtigte die Aufmerksamkeit für die übrigen Gäste in keiner Weise.

Hotel je umístěn asi 300km od Kapského města směr Garden rout.. Pokoje jsou velké, vkusně a čistě zařízené, koupelna a WC vše v absolutní čistotě. Na pokoji byl kávovar a k dispozici čaje a káva. Na snídani byl bohatý výběr, všeho bylo dost. v hotelu jsme spali jednu noc, protože jsme ho použili na přespání na další cestu K dispozici bylo wifi v prostorách restaurace

nice rooms and garden, no special location though...very friendly staff. we stayed 1 night on the way to Wilderness. They have a nice restaurant as well, good food but not extraordinary

Der Empfang durch die Rezeption und Christopher, Manager und Küchenchef in einer Person, waren mehr als nur freundlich und wir fühlten uns von Anfang wie zu Hause. Die schöne Anlage, komfortable Zimmer und ein ausgezeichnetes Essen trugen zu einem sehr angenehmen Aufenthalt bei. Die Freundlichkeit und Hilfsbereitschaft des Personals ist außergewöhnlich. Unser ganz besonderer Dank gilt Vivien!

Een geweldige ambiance!! Ontzettend behulpzaam personeel, heerlijk restaurant voor zowel diner als ontbijt. Heerlijke wijnen, zeker die van Virgin Earth!

Helaas werkt WiFi niet op de kamer, maar dat is ook het enige.

A really nice hotel, with delicious food as well as locally produced wine and a lovely atmosphere, I don't have anything negative to say about it. It was a nice gesture with a hot water bottle in the bed at night.

Very friendly staff, especially the owner / chef de cuisine! The food was exquisite, it was nicely home made and most ingredients came directly from the garden. We really enjoyed our stay and can strongly recommend it.

Comfortable, clean, cosy, safe, frendly and warmly wellcoming with local drinks. In the garden there are lots of herbs growing for the kitchen needs so at the dinner you have some of these fresh herbs also on your own plate. As a non south-african visitor chance to go to the wineyards and gardens is something to remember. Idea that you produce everything right from the begining is great.
