De Kloof Luxury Estate  

Everything! Staff and owner made us feel like friends and were so relaxed sipping wine together at the side of the Koy Carp (huge!) in lovely gardens was so relaxing. Beautiful photogenic historical building adorned with really stylish furniture and books- We had an annex room which was large and very luxurious.Huge bathroom. We ate in 1 night - and had the 5 course (smaller portions thankfully) menu cooked by Marjolein Roy's wife - what a fantastic chef , each course was delicious and creative. Edele the manageress couldn't do enough from hosting the free wine sampling to advice on sightseeing We travel extensively but were so impressed with the gorgeous manor house, style, food and relaxed friendly owners and staff that we didn't want to leave. We must come back! Thanks PS La Sosta restaurant in town (they will pick you up) is also good.

Attention to detail is superb, both in the suite and around the estate. Truly a 5 star experience.

The setting of the De Kloof is very quaint and secluded. We stayed in the loft room which was lovely and private and had its own large balcony. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The swimming pool area was large with beautiful views of the mountains. I would recommend the De Kloof for people who are looking for a quiet and peaceful stay. Sue - United Kingdom

Local restaurants are very good

Does not meet the expectations which were raised through their web pages. Very pretentious. Advert should state there are steps to most the facitlities and rooms. The one evening meal taken was very poor quality, quantity, service and value. Ate out after that experience.

Room layout. Am not a fan of slanted roofs and tall stairs to get to the room. The staff talk too much. No need to check on you eating breakfast 4times in half an hour.

we enjoyed the absolute luxury . every possible comfort had been provided for our enjoyment. we have syayed in many luxury B & B's but "de K loof was in A league of it'S own !!

Der Aufenthalt dort war einfach wunderbar! Schon der Empfang der überaus freundlichen Mitarbeiterin an der kleinen Rezeption war sehr herzlich. Die Räumlichkeiten sind mit sehr viel Liebe restauriert worden und werden gut gepflegt. Auch der Pool hat eine ausreichende Größe. Frühstück und Abendmenü haben uns ebenfalls sehr begeistert. Rundum ein gelungener Aufenthalt! Großes Kompliment an das ganze Team! Weiter so!

Das war mit Abstand der schönste Spot entlang der Garden Route. Das ganze Anwesen ist traumhaft schön angelegt und sehr geschmackvoll restauriert worden. Wir haben fantastisch gegessen und getrunken - vor allem der Service am Front Office (Adele) war außerordentlich gut. Wir kommen ganz sicher wieder!

Wij zijn best kritisch maar ik kan werkelijk niets noemen.

Ambiance van het complex uitstekend. Romantische omgeving. Sfeervol ingerichte kamer. Bij mooi weer ontbijt op het terras. Wijnproeverij en diner prima verzorgd.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich begrüßt und gleich durch die gesamte Anlage geführt. Obwohl wir nur ein Standard Doppelzimmer gebucht hatten, bekamen wir ein kostenloses Upgrade für eine Deluxe Suite. Die Suite war sehr geräumig, sehr gut ausgestattet und sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Badezimmer glich eher einem Spa Bereich als einem Badezimmer - es war gigantisch groß und sehr stilvoll. Die Anlage besteht aus historischen Gebäuden aus dem Jahr 1801, die allesamt sehr aufwendig saniert wurden. Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Vor dem Abendessen hatten wir Gelegenheit an einer Weinprobe teilzunehmen. Das optionale 4 Gänge Dinner war sehr gut und vom Preis angemessen. Das im Preis enthaltene Frühstück war ebenfalls sehr gut und reichhaltig. Das niederländische Paar, das die Anlage betreibt hat sich jedem Gast persönlich vorgestellt und war sehr herzlich. Als es am Abreisetag Farmer Proteste in Swellendam gab und niemand den Ort verlassen konnte, haben sich alle rührend um die Gäste gekümmert. Es wurden keine Mühen gescheut, Schleichwege aus dem Ort zu finden, damit die Gäste ihre geplante Route fortsetzten konnten. Fazit: Eine perfekte Zeit im De Klopf Luxury Estate. Wir würden es jederzeit wieder buchen und uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen.

Een prachtige accommodatie (authentieke voormalige boerderij), schitterend gelegen. Zeer prettige persoonlijke ontvangst met uitleg over accommodatie, tuin en verdere omgeving.
