This is a family run guest house and the whole family go the extra mile! They will listen and help when they can. The Sunday braai is a must! With karon lamb chops to start nogal! The owners may be of Dutch origin but they do us South Africans proud! Kudos to Daan and his family!!!!!
The family running the guest house are warm and friendly and made us feel very welcome. There was nothing to fault.
There was nothing that we didn't like
Although we only stayed one night we enjoyed every moment. We were just in time to join the wine tasting at Olsen Winery. Thanks Daan and Arrie! Dinner was also very special! A great stay with a very special family.
me ,wifey ,7years and 3 years doughters .it was my famiily first time in South Africa and initialy did not want to leave cape town ( concearn about safety), but after they visit to paarl and stay in the hotel ,they change mind and next time maybe we will start with Paarl in the same hotel than do the cape town. the hotel owners and managment are very frindly and they will go out of ther way to help .it is the place to really relax and detox(from the office ). we did not eat at the hotel (except for beakfast which was nice) but there are alot of choises in paarl for food
we did not have mor time to stay
> friendly helpful staff > interesting, well maintained facilities > the "experience"
> not much though a second choice a dinner would be nice
What a warm, friendly family! Tessa and Daan met us and showed us around. Tessa took it upon herself to book us a table for dinner that night on their beautiful terrace, we appreciated that as we had attended Evita's show in Darling and then, driven to Wellington , Paarl and finally, to the hotel....so, we did NOT want to get in the car again! Dinner was spectacular! And graciously looked after by Stefan, the son! The next morning we were greeted by Yvonne, the mother! We recommend this hotel HIGHLY!
Cannot think of a thing!
Our 2 nights at De Leeuwenhof Estate was a most enjoyable and memorable experience. The peace and tranquility of this family-run estate is complimented by exceptional service provided by the family and staff. The dinners were thoroughly enjoyed around a wood-fire while engaging with international and local guests and the family. Breakfast was scenic around the poolside in the early-morning sun. A visit to the nearby Butterfly World, Lion Park and Nederburg Wine Estate, rounded up a perfect holiday. Thank you Daan, Yvonne, Stephan and Tess for a wonderful holiday.
This gorgeous family run hotel is set perfectly among the vineyards of Paarl in the wine country, just a short drive from Cape Town Airport. Daan, Yvonne, Tessa and Stephan, welcomed us as if we were family upon our arrival. Tessa showed us to our lovely rustic room opening onto the garden courtyard and introduced us to the dogs on the way. Dinner was one of the best we have had in S Africa, a lovely salmon and avo salad with a succulent steak to follow, and breakfast provided the freshest of fruits and usual fair. The morning we left Daan took us on a short tour. I would return again and again to this incredible place, made truly unique by the people who run it. A memorable experience.
very friendly owners and staff!! We love the garden and the kitchen
A great hide. Family run B and B , excellent service and facilities. Amazing evening meals and very accommodating staff where nothing is a problem. Brilliant location just outside Paarl. If your in the area it's a must
A little hard to locate but worth it
Very welcoming and helpful
Bedroom very dark needs modernising.
Very good location, close to Paarl and Stellenbosch. The best food that we've eaten during two weeks in South Africa!
Breakfast - choice of in the sun or in the shadow. The dinner was nice as well. Beautiful garden. Excellent: our dirty car had been washed by the staff (complementary).
No view to the surrounding mountains.
Very special to us seems that the whole familiy was looking after us, we felt very much at home. They turned the former buildings in such a wonderful guest house with a very helpful and friendly staff. Congratulations.
Loved absolutely everything. Just sad that we only had two nights there!
The breakfast was very good and the accommodations charming.
Staff is very helpful and friendly, very good breakfast, rooms are ample and comfortable. All very well-kept and very clean. The property is really charming in Cape Dutch style.
Nothing worth mentioning, really.
Of all B&B (and I've been to a LOT) this is by far the best value for money!!! The friendly, competent staff. The authentic atmosphere of the oldCape farmhouse and guest rooms. All rooms are very well maintained. The modern techniques and innovations like sun energy and hot water solar panels, which are subtly integrated, to make my stay very very comfortable. The fast, reliable wifi. The impressive breakfast
That I only had time to stay for 1 night. With this B&B you feel bad you have to leave
Wonderful family -run guesthouse.
From the moment we arrived, we felt like part of the family. Teesha and the dogs greeted us and showed us to our room. With a large sliding door onto our private patio and looking over the main courtyard of the working estate, our finely appointed room was rustic and beautiful. We were delighted to take part in the Saturday evening BRI which included grilled sausages, lamb, beef and chicken along with homemades salads and wine. Delicious. The tour of the working farm was insightful and enjoyable. This is a gem of a spot that you won't want to miss
We couldn't stay longer than one night.
Nice location with a relaxing pool after a long day of tiering winetasting that was very pleasant. The set three course dinner was well composed and very tasty. We were however avsked to pay more than our internet booking which was a bit bitter. Took away some of the joy...
Beautiful place, spacious room and bathroom.
Dinner was really expensive.
Very well run family business. educational tour of the working farm by the owner was very nice. Very good food and breakfast buffet .
Daan and his family were so friendly and helpful and also very interesting. All the staff were welcoming and efficient.
