The Brookston is located in the suburb of Brooklyn, within 9 km from the Cape Town city centre and V&A Waterfront. The Canal Walk Shopping Centre is a 15-minute drive away.

Advertised satelite tv and none of the main channels available. Missed my sport.
It is correct that this house commands good view to see both mountain and sea.
Parking could be hazard because the parking space is too small and steep. I strongly recommend parking on outside of house.
Room was clean & spacious
Exactly the same breakfast was offered everyday Not enough hot water for the showers
Underfloor heating Views Breakfast (one of my best ever!)
Location View Friendliness & helpfulness of staff Room quality Food quality and presentation
Not a thing!
The Dream house is excellent, lovely 4 star touches and presentation. The breakfast is just fantastic! Don't worry about security they have more than covered
the rooms, equipped with love for details, groundheating in the bath, view from the terrace, breakfast in a very good quality and more then enough. Staff very friendly and speaks german :-) . Excellent service
parking within the secured ground is very tricky. WiFi could be stronger and more stable.
We had no expectations but were blown away by the beauty of this place. The views were incredible, the staff amazing, and the breakfast remarkable. We would do it all again in a heartbeat.
It is a bit far from the city but in the end we didn't mind a bit.
The breakfasts were a highlight. The staff were incredibly lovely, with a special mention to Ivanka for going out of her way to make our stay enjoyable. There were little things such as providing real filter coffee (not just instant!) in the rooms, we were given 'night time drinks', chocolates on the pillows - that made our stay feel extra special. And the views, oh my gosh. Beautiful. Would definitely recommend!
The driveway was incredibly steep and we had some difficulty getting in and out - but street parking is available and quite safe.
The owner of the establishment is very hands on. The room was exceptionally clean. The breakfast is generous and both hot and cold food is served with eggs made to order. The fresh breadrolls is great, (breakfast is the exactly the same every morning which may bother guests staying for longer than a few days monotonous, we recommend La Cucina down the road for a change of scene). Tip: Best to wait till the gate is open and only then drive up the slope to go out as it is difficult to pull away on the steep incline. The view from house no 51's lounge balcony is great. The owner gave us a slight discount on the room after our complaints and was apologetic.
We did not get the room we booked and the room that we were given was "sold" to us as an upgrade, which it was not. Satellite tv is advertised as part of the facilities but guests must be aware that all rooms is served with one decoder meaning everyone must watch the same channel and cannot choose which one. We advise future guests against booking the "Serenity" room, its door opens up into the breakfast/ lounge area and one is awakened by noise from staff preparing food in the kitchen from early morning to breakfast guests talking to guests chatting late at night in the lounge area. This room also has no blinds and guests can actually see into the room from the lounge area. We were forced to keep the curtains closed most of the time - which also kept us from seeing the view. The room also does not have a proper couch or chair.
Room hidden away downstairs with absolutely no view for the price. Stingy on breakfast bacon and eggs. Lots of noise from dinning room and kitchen upstairs. Toilet will kill you if you are claustrophobic.
Just a really nice place to stay, and the staff were really great!!!
We had a wonderfull stay. The friendly staff helped us and made wonderfull breakfast.love the heated floors.
Would have liked dstv in the rooms and a better working showerhead.
Dreamhouse is a very appropriate name for this guesthouse as you are situated high above the Hout Bay area. The accommodation was everything we had hoped it would be from the warm reception to the delicious breakfasts to the last nights thank you refreshments by the fireplace. This guesthouse was the best ending to our South African trip. Dreamhouse is a "must stay" if you are visiting Hout Bay area! You will NOT be disappointed!
The only drawback would be if you didn't have your own transportation as it is located a bit out of the town proper. However, I am sure that the staff would happily arrange transport as they were very accommodating and helpful!
Feli was great. The view was fabulous. Overall v good experience. Gladly go back.
The room was near a public room. One night some of the other guests were sitting there having a glass of wine. It was just unexpected and not really a problem.
The young manager worked very hard to make out stay a pleasure. One night we got a take away and lit the fire. Very cosy
Great views, excellent breakfast and we felt very welcom. Despite the rain, a wonderfull experience!
Loved Dreamhouse! Awsome! Will def return!! Thank you Dreamhouse!
The location and setting. The attitude and service. The pool area
The driveway, but what can one do ..
It's way away from home, but with the most incredible view. It's not just a room, but a place to relax with a magical garden and private hideaways, a beautiful pool you can laze around and lounge areas where you can sit and read a book. Evanka is a wonderful hostess and makes you feel right at home and like an old friend. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully prepared and the sherry and chocolates on our last night was a very nice suprise. It is close to the Houtbay Harbour and only 15mins drive to Cape Town. We will defenitely go back.
Breakfasts were wonderful - crisp white linen, platters of meats and cheeses, bread baskets, lovely fruit salad and yoghurt and optional eggs (which we never had room for). The setting was lovely and it was quiet and relaxing. The views were also nice and the garden was very pretty. It felt very safe and well looked after. The room facilities were excellent and lots of nice, extra touches. Would definitely recommend.
Nothing, although the pool area could have been slightly more enticing but that's a small thing.
Absolutely stunning view from the hotel over Hout Bay and the surounding mountains.
The street to the hotel is a bit steep, but doable.
The location high on a hill overlooking the valley & out to sea was wonderful. Wifi was good and code was supplied immediately on arrival, Adaptor sockets were in room so neither had to be requested. Breakfast on the terrace was excellent - both food & location! Ivanka & her colleagues were always most pleasant & helpful. Dream House is a little outside the centre of Hout Bay however if you don't have a car a shuttle will be arranged very easily with a reliable local company.
Friendly staff, wonderful breakfast and good facilities
We stayed in the Red room at Dreamhouse on our honeymoon. It was fantastic! The staff, service, views and breakfast were exceptional. If the weather is good, you can't beat it as a romantic getaway, even if only for one night.
