I liked the new suites with a lounge next to them. I liked having access to the lounge and tea-bar facilities -we had a medical emergency -Grace was excellent and extremely helpful -loved the breakfast.
I think the Aqua room needs to be updated -did not sleep well as light came through the glass roof panels-bathroom not up to standard.
Very near to the bus stop Annandale ( bus 101 and 103) Smooth and unlimited internet. Friendliness of staff. Great breakfast. Low Price. Great facilities.
There is nothing to dislike.
Room 7 very comfortable -facilities for tea making in the lounge good . Excellent friendly and helpful staff - Grace was very helpful when I had to rush my daughter to hospital.
Would like a bar of soap in the rooms ,milk for making tea in Aqua room and stronger Wi Fi if possible ?
Close to the Myciti and Hop-on/Hop off Bus stops. Very good breakfasts. Staff ffriendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Internet slow, room temperature a little cold
The incredibly polite, friendly and helpful staff. Grace and Eunice especially. The quality of the breakfast. The standard of the room. The location (quaint!)
The lack of connectivity in the rooms. (Room 8), but being welcome to work in the dining room avoided a potential disaster!!
Friendly and professional staff. Lovely breakfast albeit options were limited. Fantastic pancakes!! They changed our room after the first night as Room 5 - our room - was next to kitchen and reception so was very noisy in the morning.
i had an amazing time...so friendly and the room was beautiful..i shall return !...breakfast was great also.....and local (very nearby) restaurants are excellent.
No off-street parking, parking in the street difficult to find close to the Dunckley
The location of the venue is nice and central.
The room is very stuffy as no air is filtering through the room at any stage unless the aircon is on.
The support and advice from the staff at the front desk was superb. Breakfasts were delicious and and all of the kitchen staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful
Dunkley House was a truly pleasant experience! We stayed there for 4 nights and it was the perfect place to explore Cape Town and its surroundings. We were also impressed by Tammy's friendly helpfulness and Eunice's mouthwatering breakfasts - Southafrica at its best! ps. no worries about a car parking outside, it's a very quiet side street with security guards
Everything was superb, from room with plunge pool, spa bathroom, to staff, to gourmet breakfast. A fantastic boutique hotel in Gardn district. Will return!
Nothing. It was perfection!
Everything was great.
Nice hotel in the city center of Cape Town with authentical south african atmosphere. Good breakfast.
The location and relaxed atmosphere.
Staff very friendlly.
The location, vibe and facilities at the guest house. The breakfast offerings were also really good! Staff were friendly.
The battle for parking due to the narrow roads but was happy to see the car guards around and they also made sure that I never left anything of value in the car.
Nice and clean rooms. Awesome breakfast. Walk to Waterfront 20min Good restaurants 5min on foot. Street is guarded at night, so no problem with parking there.
beautifully furnished and decorated. very comfortable bed. great breakfast. free wifi was a big plus. awesome powerful shower..
rooms near the breakfast area can be noisy if you are a light sleeper or like to lay in late.
It's easy walking distance to several major attractions. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable, definitely fits the "boutique hotel" remit. I'm always fond of an honesty bar. They gave use the rooms very early when all we wanted to do was dump our bags!
They didn't get our departure right. We booked and paid for a transfer to the airport when we checked in and agreed a time, 6am. At 6 no-one was there and our friend found a member of staff who said there'd been a mix up. The driver turned up at 6.10, he'd only just been given the job, and had to get some fuel before he could go, he had difficulty finding the hotel (it seemed like some random guy, no seat belts working in the back). He was very helpful and got us there, but it was hardly what you'd expect!
Almost everything was up to expectations
The shower!!! The hot water system is dysfunctional, hot water takes to long to come through and pressure adn flow to low. Finishes in bathroom are a bit tired and can do with renovation.
The food was good, th location was excellent.
The staff could have been more helpful and knowledgeable about Cape Town.
