I liked the room as a whole, it had was very cozy well worth the price.
Excellent value for money. Wonderful location in beautiful, arty Stellenbosch. Clean and comfortable.
The Trust, friendliness and feel
Having to return the key back to Dorp street was a little irritation, but not a big deal!
it is a very nice place on a very central location. especially if you need to stay a bit longer it is great. sitting on the porch and feeling like you are part of the community as the man from across the road comes by to have a talk :-)
indeed, the kitchenette is not designed for making meals, but who wants to with all those great restaurants around the corner. And for making breakfast (enjoyed at the porch) it suits fine
Good value for money
Bed was OK. During the night a guard was around.
This is a colonial style house in a quiet street behind the main church. The ground floor has been divided into 4 s/c units. However, unit 4, where we stayed for 6 nights, has the bathroom in a corner of the bedroom separated by a clumsy construction of milk glass panels. The kitchen was very simple: we had just 1 frying pan and 1 sauce pan, both heavily scratched inside. Booking.com speaks about a well stocked kitchen: nothing of that was the case. Sound insulation between rooms is poor and so are floors and locks. There is no pool. Units 1, 3 and 4 share a covered seating area at the front; there is no privacy and only a few chairs
Very central in the best part of Stellenbosch for tourists.
The kitchette is very small, and it is not suitable for preparing meals. But there are many restaurants and supermarkets close by, so it is not really a problem.
Location was lovely. Care and attention to the gardens was obvious and house had nice character. Quiet dead end street meant no street noise.
This is an amazing find in the heart of Stellenbosch, right next to the botanical gardens, and some wonderful restaurants. The room was spotless, the staff attentive and kind, the ambience calm and vintage, with some lovely retro touches in the rooms. If self catering, the Birdcage cafe round the corner offer excellent breakfast
Location was ideal. Liked the fact I could make small meal / snack and had facilities to store few groceries. I thought the kitchenette unit was very compact and had all the appliances, crockery, cutlery necessary, but I did not use the stove and found balancing the kettle on that area a bit difficult LIked the fexibility that my daughter could stay for one night and my niece for two (I had booked 2 adults in the 4 sleeper). Great off road parking facility. Felt safe and secure even when occupying the whole house alone as I saw there was a security guard on duty at night If I weighed up the two, my preference would definitely be the hotel v self catering
The toliet, shower and basin in the bedroom made it too cramped and my preference would be to have these as a separate facility not in the actual room. It would have been better to have the TV in the lounge area which would allow for more cupboard space in the bedroom. On arrival the apartment was very damp smelling (I appreciate that you had experienced a lot of rain), so I bought some candles and that plus heater in lounge helped. Was not able to get the aircon in bedroom on to heat - possible because it is only aircon? Two pillows were very hard Not much room to manoeuvre in the bedroom
its in a very nice quiete place, private, safe walking distance to the mall, we enjoyed walking to the mall, the room was wow.
we struggled a bit when we wanted to cook, we did not have enough pots maybe if you can add two, but we enjoyed every moment besides the food is nearby
