Although I have only been with this property since 2007 I have 45 years experience in the Travel Trade. Having worked for SAA for 25 years and for an Outbound Wholesale Tour Operator for 15 years. Eight Bells Mountain Inn has a proud history of being in operation for more than 85 years. Our staff are all long-serving and we are currently on the fourth generation of two families that has always worked for Eight Bells. We still do things in the traditional way and offer real country hospitality.

Great staff and cool mountain location. Old-fashioned hospitality.
The evening meal could have been a bit better but breakfasts excellent. In this day and age a small fridge in the room should be standard.
staff food staff were always cheerful and helpful
a bit far away from places to visit
Very pretty setting and lovely room.
'RULES'. dress code for the dining room. No mobile phones, IPADS, kindles in the dining room. Unusual nowadays, This was more a vacation hotel where it felt unnecessary in the surroundings.
Good food, well prepared. Wine list well priced.
Rondavel affected by road noise.
The excellent way in which we were treated Mr and Mrs Bonger thank you for caring I do not think in this world anybody would work the xtra mile with their guests like you did We just love your staff
Perhaps DSTV? We missed KYKNET
From the moment we arrived to the time we left, our stay was outstanding. Excellent Location, Extremely friendly and well trained staff who even over the busy festive season remembered our names, Exquisite food. One of our nicest stays ever. Incredible value for money, We would highly recommend this hotel to any traveler, single, married or with children, they go out of their way to cater for all their customers.
In the summer heat, red wine could be cooled.
The room was very comfortable and every thing worked. The chap that showed me to my room tested every thing and explained things very well, Staff in dining room were attentive. Efficient check out procedure. Staff very pleasant.
No proper shower Cycle event which began before 07/00 on Saturday 29th Nov. It woke me up with the amplified microphone. I was not told of the event when I booked, so the car park was almost full of cars with bicycle racks. I needed to go out to visit a friend who live local to the hotel. It was not easy to get out of the rear car park.
We didn't get the room we booked
My wife likes the atmosphere and I like the tranquillity and good food
Very friendly staff
Lovely location, clean, comfortable and the ideal place to relax. Friendly and helpful staff - without exception. Can't wait to go back!
Can't think of any negatives.
Gardens, quiet peaceful surroundings, pleasant and helpful staff.
I thought the walks could be better sign posted. I did not enjoy the chicken curry which was very poor in flavour with minute servings of symbols and watery rice.
Staff were attentive in a well-intentioned way.
The hot water situation. For a family owned hotel with a four star rating, I expected more hospitality from the owners. They seemed to hide in their office, leaving the personal touch to the staff.
Quiet, serene atmosphere.
Excellent dinner and breakfast - superbly cooked and presented. Wines reasonably priced
Waiting for the hot water to arrive and then was not very hot !!!
We loved the view and the staff was very friendly. Room was very neat and clean.
There where no bubble bath for bathing. Menu is a bit dull, I think a dish of the day everyday will work wonders.
Friendly welcoming staff, clean and tidy recreational areas, fantastic food.
Everything the facilities ,the garden, nature and horses!!
The room was small and dark. I wanted to stay in a cabin (as I had done on two previous occasions) but was told that I could not.
Charming place to stay. Wonderful scenery with opportunity to do horse riding. Staff friendly and helpful. Something to do for all ages. Rooms very comfortable. Visited twice and will definitely return.
