Ambience was great.

Lights in the room were not working. No bedroom slippers.

There could be a play area for the children (not the baby sitting service) but perhpas a jungle gym, playhouse etc near the pool area.

Everything was amazing... We enjoyed every second of our stay!!!!

The staff were exceptional - it was our 1 year wedding anniversary and once they found out they went out of their way to look after us and treat us. We had rose petals scattered in our room, we had a complimentary bottle of champagne. The extra mile they went to look after us was wonderful. The staff are so friendly and helpful, and you could also see they were proud to be work for Zimbali. It was an exceptional weekend and we have already referred some friends there. And I am sure we will be back ourselves!

Our colonial-meets-Bali style room was gorgeous and luxurious, but stepping onto our balcony transported us into a lush, jungle wonderland. Pre-dinner drinks in this setting made us feel like we were in another world. Surprisingly the lodge is also located on the beach, thereby offering a very unusual combination. We walked along the romantic path to the main area where we enjoyed dinner in again, a lovely restaurant where I had the best chicken curry I have ever had. We are sorry that we only stayed for 1 night, we will definitely come again for a longer holiday. Zimbali Lodge is situated on a remote beach but getting to the main shopping area in Ballito was only a few minutes drive. The international airport is easily accessible. There are several different types of accommodation in this large resort. We loved the lodge, I did not see the hotel, which I heard has a more modern decor. There is also resort accommodation which we did not have time to explore. I have no negative comments other than minor irritations, like insufficient lighting for my make-up and a shower door that opens the wrong way. I can assure any fellow traveler of a glorious stay. Hluhluwe/Umfolozi game reserve; St. Lucia wetlands and Phinda game reserve are only a few hours away, so we used Zimbali as a stopover on our way there.

We loved it, I have no negative comments.

Not a complaint but the furniture is very heavy and the rooms could do with a refurb they are looking a little tired

The "sea" view is pathetic

The staff were very friendly. The lodge is in a great setting.

The room service was poor, we had to phn more than once on several occassions to get something delivered or fixed. The room service food was very poor. The airconditioning heat option didnt work. The hair dryer didnt work. The TVs were very old and the remotes didnt work. Quite a few of the over head lights didnt work. The floor under the bed was very dirty.The impression given was lack of attention to detail

The setting and the beach area was fantastic. The room was also very well done.

The food was average and no chocolate on the pillow in the evening was a little dissapointing. Our neighbour smoking on thier balcony didn't enhance the ambience for us.

The best features of this stay were the setting, an idyllic beach and forest setting with plenty of natural beauty, and the quality of the food. Staff were very attentive and responsive. Beds were extremely comfortable and the Victorian bath is wonderful! Afternoon tea was of a very high quality, as were dinner and breakfast.
