Score from 507 reviews Very good
noisy restaurant, not adequate to the expected getaway environment
The hotel is beautiful, the gardens and grounds immaculate. Good service all round- enjoyed my stay.
Housekeeping and incorrectly charging for in dining service
Location and facilities brilliant
most of it...
no flyscreens so we could leave the balconydoor open
They washed and dusted the room thoroughly when at reservation I stated I was very allergic to dust. I was impressed. Plus the Spa agreed to give me a ring 20 minutes before my appointment. Loved everything about that hotel.
the staff are well trained and meet your every need
room are spacious Valet attendants very friendly Loved the deli !
could not get a newspaper anywhere in hotel to read Waited 35 min for coffee and cake Lights in bathroom didnt work and water wouldnt flow out of basin Friendly Suggestion : Let your manager stay in Oyster Box for 2 days .
Room size and comfort, and great location! Location of bath tub and views - perfect
To take the service to the next level, get waiters to sample the restaurant food to help increase their knowledge and provide confident food recommendations when asked to. Other than this, absolutely nothing to fault!
Everything except the lack of a heated pool This is incredible resort.
Not one heated pool so you really could not swim despite warm weather. There are at least 15 pools in this resort. Just one small heated pool would have made a huge difference to the experience - and would probably increase visitor numbers out of season.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable especially the bed. Room service was superb.
Having travelled quite extensively the value for money was not good. everything seemed over priced and there is room for a basic a la carte restaurant. Not all has to have a theme.31 degree was understaffed.
We liked everything, from the food to the location. Staff were very attentative and accommodating. Property was well maintained, room was clean and everything worked.
Zimbali estate sales people, everytime we walked passed we were accosted to take a sales tour and listen to their sales pitch. We were there for R&R.
The reception takes long before answering calls and WIFI access from the room was a great struggle.
The size of the rooms. And position,I.e sea views.Helpful staff
Cockhoaches in the room,blocked sink!
I loved the hotel it was amazing and your staff are so good they treat you so well. I was impressed with the room and it was our 34th wedding anniversary and we were made feel welcomed and special. The breakfast was outstanding and what can I say about the view from our room. We will be back.
The only thing that would make the resort better would bee if you had a restaurant overlooking the sea it would be very romantic. You have a good view of the sea from the hotel, but from far.
View and comfortable room. Location (few m from the beach) and close to airport.
The whole complex looks like a high security PRISON, all but pleasant. Restaurants are below expectations and terrible ambience... rather order room service. No Hot water from the shower and toilet bubbled at night keeping us awake.
The food, the comfortable beds, the fact that the place is child friendly and luxurious is also a huge highlight for me. We really had a great relaxing time with the family!
The house-keeping service after 8pm. They hould come while we're having dinner at 6pm or so.
An excellent hotel for retreat, the food, the scenery and the rooms are wow!
Friendly staff and big luxurious rooms.
Bar fridge charge of R548 when we did not use!
Staff attitude was excellent - knowledgeable, polite, friendly and always smiling.
Rugs in the rooms would be welcome especially when its cold.
The hotel itself is immaculate, we were treated like royalty once driven onto the estate. The concierge was brilliant and the general service I was impresses with. The room was lovely and we even had our towels changed when we came back from dinner!!!!!
Unfortunately the entrance gate security was not welcoming at all. I presume this is outsourced. We were treated like criminals, who might I add in a sports car. asked for ID's Drivers licences, car registration was scanned. eventually we were let in. The reception of the hotel could not confirm our Booking.com reservation despite that we had it on sms and email. and that we called to query it. and most importantly I have never been so upset as to have our romantic weekend away spoilt at 5am by noisy neighbours in room 3008. we were in 3007. as we are situated at the end of the corridor the sound was contained there although what we heard was scary and I was afraid. We were woken from our sleep at 5am listening to an Indian women going insane! She was screaming like a banshee and then both her and a male voice were shouting. we went onto the balcony and I did see the people in the court yard below looking up in shock. we tried to sleep a few times I even took another half a sleeping tablet, The noise was unbearable and they were throwing around stuff. I called both the foyer and security to report the matter from our cellphones, as the room phone wouldn't dial out. I did warn security to hurry up as I could hear that she said they were packing up. The couple were threatening each other. By the time security arrived they said the room was quiet and they called us from room 2009 as the rest of the area was empty. I replied by saying I think they already left a few minutes ago. We also promptly packed up to bath and leave. Ruining what was to be our engagement weekend. I have addressed the matter to the GM.
Everything was awesome !! Pools are great
The view, ambiance and tranquility was great. Loved the swimming areas and all the dining facilities available. The staff were very helpful and pleasant.
The telephone didn't work, the shower lever has been installed upside down so it took a while to work out, the toilet door didn't close at all and the bathroom light was faulty. The shower door is level with the floor so you couldn't put a bath mat in front of it and open and close the door. This also meant the shower water leaked under the door wetting the bathroom and making the tiles dangerously slippery. Service in the Coral Tree Restaurant was not great.
The design of the hotel and how the swimming pools were set out. The friendly and well mannered staff. The view from the location of the hotel- however the disappointment that the beach had no rock pools or small flat swimming area for toddlers.
I found the shower hook to be loose. The shower grouting was discoloured : Mould? Rust? The toilet seat was damaged by some form of chemical and had a yellow line running across it, at first we thought it was urine. We chose the most affordable room for ourselves, so I assume that the Hotel caters more for overseas guests.
