Once again one cannot fault the location and facilities. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful

I believe that the maintenance and housekeeping ned a severe shake up.A Lot of issues with broken fittings and simple covers having loose, an zircon in our room that was stuck on 15 degrees celsius and lastly the cleanliness in the room is lacking and had to wipe cutlery at just about every time we had a meal.

The ambience

Room 664 needs maintenance. Rooms are aging. Upgrade Tv. There were no soaps. Bathroom handle screw is lose. On reading lamp was not working. Bottled Waters were not replaced the next day. Tea was not enough. Only 1 cup for the day per person. Tennis courts need maintenence. Shuttle service to tennis courts was not the most efficient. Had to wait too long.

level of cleanliness in room spider webs in corners and floors not cleaned properly. For me unacceptable for this establishment

Lack of cleaness , Shortage of clean linen. Staff not trained to handle full hotel in peak season. Reception and housekeeping out of depth in peak season room only ready three hours after advertised book in time

Golf course close safety comfort very good staff service excellent.

The morning we had breakfast we went to restaurant we should have been notified if our booking includes breakfast or not which we found out it doesn't after we had breakfast.

Location, Location. Location. We were traeted like kings!! Staff are very helpfull and friendly!

The location and setting is wonderful.

Has dinner at the Coral Tree Restaurant once and was not impressed at all with the meal. The menu offered Fillet steak and what i was served was fillet medallions which seemed to have been left standing and slightly re-heated before being served .The Red snapper that my mom had was average too. Breakfast on our last morning (also served in the Coral Tree) was probably the worst I've had ..cold scrambled egg , cold bacon , cold chicken sausages. Was also told by a waiter that the a la carte breakfasts were not served "when they are busy" and we had to have the buffet! (yes this from a Fairmont 5 star resort) ..perhaps I became too used to the impeccable service I had at the Four Seasons George V in Paris in June ...oh well you live and you learn..

the location and whole set up is perfect

maintenace is behind, loose thing in shower, bad finisches in toilet, room was never cleaned without phoning cleaning service, carpet in restaurant poor. No mini bar in the room!? should be in a 5 start hotel.

Will be nice if you improve your dinners. Our experience with the see food was very disappointing

Location

valet parking, warm welcome, easy check in, very helpful and friendly staff, excellent food at the Coral Restaurant, then sea view.

We had an absolutely wonderful week long stay at the Fairmont Zimbali Resort. The facitlities and staff were top notch and we could not have been more happy with of choice of hotel.

The surroundings and the location. The atmosphere in general was relaxing.

The lack of training and knowledge of some of the staff. The condition of the facilities.

Excellent general facilities including the golf course. The Thandi restaurant was particularly good.

It is a pity that 2 of the restaurants in the resort were closed and only open at 'high season' - which presumably means times like Xmas and Easter

Superbstes Frühstücksbüffet Sehr freundlicher, zuvorkommender Generalmanager, als wir spätabends, übermüdet mit quengelnden Kindern noch ein Hotelzimmer suchten. Kam ums preislich entgegen. Super Lage mit vielen Pools. Gut zum Erholen mit Kindern.

Härligt läge

Bäst före datum har inträffat, dåligt underhåll på fastighet. Går ej att bada i havet, inga hajnät.

There was miscommunication between booking.com and the hotel so that my room was not ready. However staffs were trying to sort it out and tried to make up the inconvenience.

Definitely bookong.com's and the hotel's booking system. In fact hotel did not know we were booked. Had there been no rooms, we would have to fly back home with a hungry and tired baby.

Its location and design.

The room was not clean enough, nor was the all day dining balcony (cigarette buts and chewing gum on the floor - at breakfast!). Room amenities insufficient (toiletries, rubbish bins, no 'do not disturb' sign (had to ask for it twice after being disturbed by housekeeping at 8h30 on a Sunday morning on day of check out). TV wasn't working (it did get fixed) nor was the internet.The shower leaks onto the bathroom floor. On Saturday night, the only in house dining option was the Coral Tree (all day dining). Only 4 snacks on menu at bar, one was not available we discovered after asking where our order was. My husband was incorrectly addressed (staff used the name on the credit card - my maiden name - despite requesting it to be changed to the name of the booking). Late check out was agreed to, then changed without informing us. Bottom line, no attention to detail...

quality of the service

The hotel is beautifully decorated. It is a 5 star setting. Pianist in the reception creates a high brow feel (although too stiff and formal for family fun). The rooms were spacious. We stayed in the junior suite.

It was a 3 star experience at best. The bathroom was unclean and housekeeping was poor. There was a plumbing leak under the sink which caused the bathroom to become flooded when the basin was used. The complimentary bottle of champagne was removed from our suite when our room was being "prepared" for us. Room service was overpriced and food quality was poor, and dispite management's apologies, we were still charged for a meal that was not palatable. There appeared to be insufficient staff and with the exception of a couple (Robin and Brian), the staff did not have the finesse that you would expect of a 5 star restort, and housekeeping staff in particular appeared to be untrained. The main hotel restaurant was very small and the floor plan was poor, and could not adequately accomodate the breakfast rush. Dirty dishes were not cleared away from the tables effeciently (also due to inadequate staffing). The main pool was green and there was no sign to advise guests that the pool should not be used and was under maintenance, and management also provided conflicting reports as to the safety of the pool when asked. It lacked a "resort" feel. There was access to the beach from the resort but you couldn't swim at this spot. It wasn't a festive place. I wouldn't recommend it for children. All things considered I felt ripped off.

We enjoyed the peace and tranquility , the spa facilties.

There's no jacuzzi ....

There are excellent leisure areas many with swimming pools; Fairmont also has access to the beach (which is unfortunately not a swimming beach)

The staff are not somewhat unfriendly
