This recently refurbished hotel is about 29 miles North of Durban, on the Kwa-Zulu North Coast, which is also known as ‘The Pearl’ of the Dolphin Coast. The Fairways hotel caters to vacationers, business travelers and conference goers alike. Enjoy breakfast in the patio restaurant and dinner in the formal dining room. Relax by the swimming pool surrounded by beautiful grounds, or in the Jacuzzi. Salt Rock is well known for its great, safe beaches. Everything!!! The breakfasts were super and the staff efficient and helpful. The bathrooms (although didn't get the one as actually advertised) were absolutely beautiful! Michelle, the Manager, I think, was wonderful and especially helpful and always made you feel so welcome. Well Done!! No Pool lounges or chairs, but they did make a plan for me. Although the rest of the staff were very friendly, the owner was somewhat unfriendly.

The distance from the beach The roof leaked the whole week, and the smell of old water damage was very bad.

nothing much the dogs running around all over the place in dining room etc. Staff sweeping outside room at 6.15am in mornings. Hair dryer in draw must be meant for a dwarf as goes through back of dressing table to plug and cable is very very short. Breakfast food not so hot. No credit card facilities to pay. this is definately not a 4 star hotel by a long way.

Warning: Do not bargain on the room you book and pay upfront. You might find you get a cheaper room. We have paid for the executive room and got the middle class room instead. This dishonesty almost got out of hand. This is also a hotel without any hotel services. I would say 5star B&B but defnitely not on my list of hotels.
