Fantastic. Beautiful setting. Very friendly staff that went the extra mile. Breakfast was fab. i like that its not a huge hotel, its just cozy - we went in the end of summer, I can imagine it would be great in winter too.
Atmosphere style and management
We were in Franschhoek for a wedding, but decided to have a relaxing day before the wedding by each having full body massages in the salon. Then had lunch in our room from the restaurant. I'm sorry I didn't take a photo of the breakfast buffet to post. it would have made you hungry.
The bedroom I had was small and tired looking, poor value for money. The alternative I was offered was loud as it was by the road As part of the local hotel feedback I highlighted this issue and they were aware of the failings of the room but I wasn't offered any kind of compensation
Lovely place to stay and nicely laid out Friendly staff who get to know you almost immediately Great food and wonderful support to take you to and from local locations
The room,s were clean and very comfortable and the whole ambience of the place. Breakfast was very good with the fruit being of top quality
Quiet luxury and excellent service; being in the Winelands sunshine. Excellent restaurant.
Pool chairs could do with being modernised
Bedrooms were huge
Plumbing needs rejuvenation
Staff, location, size of rooms Villas are luxurious, standard rooms more than adequate.
Reception staff very friendly but inneficient. No handover from one receptionist to next plus very short of general information re locality and tours etc.
Generous space in rooms and in general. Shuttle service very important.
A little noisy as on the main road
Great location and friendly service
The staff were excellent. We were particularly imopressed by the fact that they found us two good restaurants at short notice at a busy time of year. The shuttle driver was very good - friendly and punctual. The villa rooms are huge and gorgeous.
bed was slightly harder than we are used to. two single beds were pushed together to make a king size bed, so when holding my wife at night, we were actually lying in the middle of the bed, which was the edge of each single bed (if that makes sense). Pool could be bigger to accommodate more people
everything a real hidden little gem very professional service accommodation simply incredible
Loved the hotel style and in particular our little cottage with the horses in the field. Very convenient having a hotel shuttle into town.
Hard to think of anything - other, perhaps, than noting that dishes at dinner tend to have too much sauce - perhaps that's just our taste, however!
The suites are large and beautifully furnished - in a French style. More like apartments than standard hotel suites. The staff were professional and pleasant. The food, breakfast and dinner, was excellent. We very much enjoyed it, and would definitely aim to stay again on any future visit to the Cape.
thought the room and decor was amazing, the breakfast was also very good
The food was very good The massage is also very recommended
A bit far if you want to tour many wineries. Probably best to sort out your own transportation as the hotel-recommended provider is quite expensive.
The surrounding mountains, local cuisine, wine farms, Franschhoek Motor Museum
Slow wifi. Only able to log on one device at a time.
Lovely room and friendly staff
A gem in the heart of the winelands!
Grungy bathroom, poor value for the money spent on 1 night. Disappointed.
Rooms out of date. Service in restaurant on first night very poor. Cleanliness of rooms and upstairs lounge not so good. Half bottle of pink wine left in bookshelf. Staff stretched out in lower lounge in front of fire and talking loudly. Value for money compared to other hotels poor and perception from internet and advertising of 5star misleading. Appears to be little supervision.
The decoration was a little tired in places, especially the carpet in the cottage was worn down.
We stayed in the garden cottage which had two floors, the ground floor was the bedroom and first floor a living area which had a balcony with stunning views. It was the largest room we stayed in on our honeymoon. The restaurant Monneaux in the hotel was fantastic and made up for any small niggles.
For a 5 star facility I would have expected to have fruit bowl in the room.
Cleanliness, dinner at the restaurant and the breakfast.
