The staff were great, the rooms were cleaned well.
Although it's really the most reasonable place we have stayed in Franschhoek, you have to remember that the feeling is more like a school hostel, complete with communal bathroom.
The Franschhoek Travellers Lodge reflects what you pay. We stayed in a double room for one night and it was clean but quite noisy. The location is great and near to all the shops and restaurants. The staff are pleasant and helpful.
no facilities or basic equipment No staff at duty desk most of the time Very very basic
The warmness and help from Errol and the staff. The calm. The location.
Wifi connexion a little weak sometimes.
Great location, good facilities, big and clean private double room with big bathroom
Some noise from other residents (mainly kids) at night and early morning. Some quiet times enforcement + signs would solve it.
Internet available free. Close to centre of the town
Internet only available in communal area . Soulless underinvested environment The most uninspiring of backpackers hotels I've come across in South Africa but it's cheap for the area.
Good place for in-between places, good restaurants
Just a simple room, there is not i fibe in de house
Friendly stuff Location
Perfect location in an otherwise pricey town. Just a couple of minutes from the main high street. We stayed in an ensuite double for about £33 per night. If you don't mind basic facilities then this is absolutely fine. Airy high ceiling-ed room, comfy bed, large shower.
Some noise early morning from outside but ok if you're an early riser anyway.
Friendly receptionist and admirable owner.
There are no plugs in the room, so charge your phone beforehand. Your morning will start early, as there's a school nearby. There's 'permanent residents' and that kitchen will be felt throughout the place. Expensive for what you actually get (or don't)
Close enough to the town so everything was within walking distance but far enough away so it was very quiet at night.
We couldn't seem to find any kitchen facilities but I'm not sure if they were even offered.
nice and clean hostel, very close to the main road, enough parking space available (behind a fence) - staff was very helpful and friendly. Would absolutely stay there again.
Errol was for friendly and the location is very good. We don't even have to drive to go to the resturant. Very nice town~~
Towers were old.
The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. The venue is simple but very good value for money. Rooms were clean and neat. In a central location close to shops and restaurants.
Parking should be more secure, behind a locked gate.
Good unpretentious place for a night or two. Cheap.
