Beautiful place and great service, but we were a bit disappointed that we weren't given a room with a balcony overlooking the lagoon despite these rooms being vacant at the time and for the same price.
Wonderful and delicious breakfast served on the terrace with a breathtaking view.
The Guinea Fowl has a very homely feel . The owners are experienced ,extremely helpful and the breakfast was exactly what we wanted , tasty ,wholesome and comfortable . The view across the Heads is stunning.
The neighbours noisy dog . I believe they are moving soon !! The neighbours ,that is !
Hosts very friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean. Lovely breakfast on the deck. The view from the deck is stunning.
No aircon or decent fan. It was very hot that day and we had a very uncomfortable evening.
Place was nice, silent, fantastic view, very good breakfast, really nice owners.
Nothing. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Wonderful spot with amazing view over the lagoon to the Knysna Heads. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and clean. The owners are warm and friendly with loads of local information. Its just a couple of minutes drive from the waterfront, shops and restaurants. A great spot for a stop over.
The bed was too soft for my back.
The views from the balcony. Lovely comfortable bed
Peter and Martha were amazing hosts, extremely accommodating. They were very helpful in providing us information about Kynsna.
Amazing view over the town and estuary. Waliking distance to town centre, very close to Waterfront, and close to n2 (easy to find on arrival). Beautiful garden, swimming pool area, attractive, artistic decor. Private balcony with view. Good cooked breakfast with excellent view. Friendly and helplful hosts. Affordable. Off-street parking, mostly under cover. Comfortable bed, clean bedding, quiet neighbourhood.
Some dust and cobwebs in bathroom and on furniture on arrival, no shampoo, tiny handsoap (maybe an oversight by staff on a busy day). Tv limited to local South African channels. We did not notice any airdonditioner or heater.
It was my second time at the Guinea Fowl Lodge. The owner is very friendly and helpful. I would stay there always again.
The Guinea Fowl Lodge is on a hill, overviewing Knysna but still close –walking distance- to the city. When we arrived the host gave us a map and some helpful tips of what to do with the rest of the afternoon. The rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast is served on the beautiful terrace and everything you could possible want is there - fresh fruits, toast, cheese, jam & marmalade. We liked the accommodation and would definitely go again!
It is a bit of a hike up the stairs if you walk from town but the views from the balcony are well worth the effort! We received a very warm welcome and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this comfortable quiet retreat away from the waterfront bustle.
We stayed 2 nights at gfl and had a fantastic stay. The place and the room were very idyllic, charming and personal in its style. The room was very clean and with a beautiful view from the balcony overlooking the lagoon. The breakfast was delicious and the couple who owns the place is helpful, friendly and truly welcoming. This was the best place we stayed on The Garden Route and we loved everything about it. /Iben & Anders, Denmark
East access to the town of Knysna. Friendliness from Mart and Peter. Overall, a very good location at what can only be described as a good price!
I wasn't wild about the bed - too short with a mild dip in the middle, otherwise all else just fine.
