Absolutely nothing to complain about!
Wonderful experience, very, very friendly, nice, welcoming, outstanding staff, great game drives (thanks a lot, Shawn!), stunning location, great atmosphere. We already look forward to going there again!
Super location! Friendly staff, delicious food! Amazing time.. Thanks!
Nothing. It was outstanding.
Victorian pioneer feel, a wooden lodge with private accommodation in the trees overlooking a small river. Surrounded by wildlife, with 'resident' hippos, baboons etc etc. Stylish. Guides really excellent. Lots of great touches and attention.
There was nothing to not like - some items didn't get replaced (eg tissues) but all fairly minor in the scheme of things.
Our stay at Hamiltons has to rate us one of our best holidays ever! The staff were amazing, the food was excellent (esp the banoffee pie!), the accommodation surpassing expectations and our guide was simply outstanding! I cannot recommend this lodge enough! Definitely considering a return trip!
Floors, chairs and tables could use some more cleaning: But considering that you are in the middle of nowhere, it is still OK
Good value for money, very friendly staff, great views of the river, great game drives on private concession
Nothing. Not a complaint, but it would be nice if the menu could be varied that you don't get the same menu on day one and again on day four?

We did not like going home. It was unfortunate we had so much rain but this did not take away the pleasure we had.
We loved the position of our tent. The entire camp is beautiful and we liked the way everybody went out of their way to make our stay an unforgettable one. Thank you Harold and staff.
The facilities were fabulous. The staff incredible and the surroundings beautiful.... just for starters. Then you add the animals who were right there on property at any given time and it makes for a pretty amazing place. Our ranger made every game drive an exciting lesson on the wildlife. We would definitely go back.
Hamilton's web site indicates the lodge has been around since 1880's (on first line) which it decidedly has not been (opened 2004). There was a Disneyesque feel to the place, contriving very hard to come across as "old colonial." Which unfortunately extended to the food. Cuisine was not at the level of excellence I would expect from a 5-star. Exact same breakfast menu every morning. Poached eggs ordered soft arriving hard. Toast served well before the breakfast comes. Meals just very lackluster, salads with iceberg lettuce, pale tomato wedges. Really? In-room material said not to drink the water but they only provide one very small bottle/per day, otherwise there is a charge if you want more. That is just wrong. My biggest disappointment was there were no walks because they had to have 2 people with rifles. Well - then hire 2 people with rifles!! Was going stir crazy after 2 days, felt like a canary in a cage after 2nd day. You should have a small gym - roll treadmills out onto the deck to give guests opp to walk. I went to Lukimbi after Hamilton's and much preferred it. They had a chef onboard and it made all the difference with the food which was just excellent. Go stay there and see what I mean and how you can improve.
Location and way the tented camps/dining room are built overlooking river. That there are only 6 tents, sometimes was the only guest on a drive so individual attention fabulous. Guide was very good, the preserve beautiful. Butler staff very sweet. The hippo in the river. Weather was perfect.
