Smelling and bookings
Staff was amazing. Meals were very tasty. Swimming pool was very good. Special thanks to owner Meryl for kindness and hospitality. General manager Kelly and Meryl helped us to organize all kind of activities and tours around Kruger Park and nearby area ( including hippo Jessica, baobab trees, Tshukudu game lodge).
I arrived just before midnight and was helped in a kind way. Even a meal was offered through mail, which i only saw the next day.
Bushveld environment. Opportunity to walk down to river to see the hippos. Very attentive staff. Comfortable rooms.
Budget family rooms quite old and in need of some renovations. Very noisy fridge right through the night. No chairs in room. only beds
The service, accessibilty to Kruger National Park, the friendliness of the staff, the food and all else...
The Nature Reserve of the resort.
the pool was great. the owner was great and helpful.
it was further in distance to where i wanted to explore. my mistake for not realizing the distances.
The big pool. The situation close to the river.
We were actually the only people in the whole resort, which allowed us the whole pool just for us! We spent our last night in South Africa here, and it was a very easy transfer from our safari lodge. The price was great for what we got! The food was also decent and reasonably priced. It was exactly what we expected when booking. I recommend reaching out to the hotel before your stay, as Meryl can help you plan a fantastic trip and check out many of the sights in the area. We did not stay too long to give a full review on everything, but it was a wonderful last day of relaxation before our flight back to the us.
Meryl, the owner, was wonderful. The only reason I give staff a "good" rather than "excellent" rating is because it was not fully staffed while we were there. Meryl did everything to make us comfortable, but she had a lot on her plate.
The swimming pool was lovely - big, clean. We loved swimming there. The river next to the lodge is pretty. The lady at the reception was friendly and provided useful advice, even if she seemed quite confused.
When we first got there we were advised that our rooms were simple like backpacker rooms. When we booked that wasn't mentioned. Also, backpacker rooms we've stayed in before were cheaper than. While the rooms had camping stoves and fridges, the slope of the sink caused the water to flow to the front, there was almost no cooking or dish washing utensils. The shower heads were pathetic. One had the tiniest drizzle, in the other water came in small bouts. It seemed that the more expensive accommodation was of better quality. We also got the recommendation to upgrade our rooms. However, that is dishonest marketing. We should habe been given this information before arrival. Additionally, even backpackers we've stayed in before had functional showers and basic kitchen equipment while being cheaper!
