The cottage was spacious and staff very helpful and friendly.Enjoyed the sauna and jacuzzi. Great restaurant within walking distance.Near the airport.

It is a very comfortable hotel. The owner is very friendly and helpful. Nice neighborhood.

The place where the breakfast is served should be silent or with easy listening music. There was a TV and a radio at the same time, what was quite annoying. Maybe they should place some tables in the garden that is really nice.

Kevin (owner) is just a perfect guestkeeper, he was very friendly and very flexible regarding all our needs. The house itself feels more like a private home and that's what's so nice about. The garden is beautiful and kind of an oasis in that town. The area around is safe and there are enough nice places to eat available. Taxi to airport is with ~230 ZAR affordable for almost everyone.

The owner, Gavin Smith, has done a fantastic job at creating a comfortable place to stay with facilities for everyone - pool, sauna, jacuzzi, hamocs for relaxation, play area for children, small gym, pool, darts, lounge area, private cottage for families. Great place and wish we could have stayed longer.

The staff was helpful, the room (a little house actually) clean, and the location suited our purposes very well. Gavin, the owner, was very friendly. Jakes, the man who came to get us at the airport and drove us another couple of places was good, friendly and prompt. Taxi service is expensive, as there isn't really much in the way of public transportation, but he gave us relatively good prices.

Our only problem was a very uncertain internet connection. But the manager did manage to fix it so we could do what we needed to do.

Inspite of my email a day earlier, there was no one at the house to receive our party. The house maid did not know of our arrival. The house manager arrived at 9 pm and told us that he was busy at a meeting. No one told us about the hotel facilities including use of telephone and other services. Except for another guest, the entire property was vacant. Next morning though, Gavin the owner ,showed up and apologised and tried to makeup for our disappointment with the facility and treatment we received on our arrival. This facility is in a run-down part of Jo'burg and pretty isolated. For people without a vehicle, the nearest grocery store is more than a km walk.

Kids having freedom to play around, it felt like home far from our own home. A warm welcome nd friendly staff also made us feel at home.

Staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The house provided a safe, clean environment handy to restaurants and shopping. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed there only one night on our way to the AP. The place is incredible looks good it is second to nothing. The owner is a nice young guy who honor is gusts. We even got a bottle of fine white wine as a gift. Next time I am in Johannesburg this will be the place for me to stay.

Nice guest house, good location, free wifi in the room and a very big room/house ideal for a family with kids. Highly recommendable.

Excellent location, close to airport and shopping, very friendly and helpful owner and staff. We had the family unit with lots of space (2br and one bed in living). Excellect choice for location and value. Recommended.

We stayed in the family cottage which was lovely, very spacious and clean. There were two nicely decorated bedrooms with a couple of extra twin beds off the living room area so able to sleep up to 6 people. Really good layout with kitchen / breakfast bar and lovely lounge with open lit fire which staff happily prepared for us. The communal areas were also great and had pleasant decor. There were several indoor and outdoor games to entertain children and free access to a computer. The neighbourhood seemed fairly safe and accommodation was secure. We only had one night here before we flew home but could happily have stayed for longer. Very good location for the airport too.

No bath, only shower. This is difficult with kids. Living area not heated at all and thus very cold. Parking very cramped - take the plants out and improve the parking

Gavin the boss couldn't have been more helpful or generous. He was happy to go the extra mile to help out, and gave useful advice for our onward journey. Our room was lovely and had a huge bath and a very comfortable bed. The gardens are lovely and nice to chill out in, and the place generally has a very welcoming homely atmosphere. Highly recommended.

The location and the facilities were really very good! The staff were helpful and competent.

There was a pool table that the kids enjoyed playing with and several board games the kids used. As well there was an outdoor space for the kids to play in and as this compound is encircled by a wall it was fairly safe for older children. The new Sauna is functional and nice for up to 2-3 adults. The Shower in the Jacaranda Suite is new and nice (multi functional jets). The Jacaranda Suite is larger; 2 bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, living room, and other sleeping area.

Jacaranda family suite; this building is “older”. The floors were quite dirty when we stayed there. There were two bedrooms with 2 twin beds each. The "master bed" was in the open space adjacent to the living room when we were there. The problem with this is the curtains are a bit too small for the windows and fairly transparent in this area. This may make it more difficult to sleep when the sun rises or at night with the always on security lights that are on both sides of this area (Exercise area and lawn). Speaking of the exercise area adjacent to this large bed (just the other side of a door); you may be woken up early as people decide to use this equipment, and with the light curtains there may be little privacy if you choose to sleep in this bed. (Note: Gavin has since informed us that the master bedroom is one of the twin bedrooms and not this Queen Bed area). Other issues: We couldn’t get the foot spa to work and the manager couldn’t be found to help us (finding the manager was a problem on several occasions) (Note: Gavin has since informed us that the foot spa is now working); the "Pool", which is tiny, remained covered and cold, and the wireless was slow and only available from inside the main building to the front of the kitchen of the Jacaranda Suite. Other Important Items: Avoid Jacks (Jackson) cab driver, if he is recommended to you. He was over 30 minutes late picking us up at the airport and failed to show up on another pre-booked occasion; EastGate mall is a bit over 1.1 km away (to the beginning of the parking lot) on foot (we know as we had to walk).
