Score from 25 reviews Very good
reception staff good customer service cart service
a little uplift on bathrooms will be great
I liked the security. And driveways to the rooms, the gym and pool
The breakfast was not outstanding, The rooms was not cleaned properly. Roof shades will be welcomed for Gauteng rain, car stand outside in burning sun. Not nice..
Room was good, breakfast good
Poor choice of tv channels, fix shower door leak.
The extensive grounds. away from the main hotel the rooms are large and comfortable.
hotel breakfast was a shambles. A very nice breakfast room and good staff totally overwhelmed by 300 bus tourists from all over the world desperate to grab seats and food and be out by 8am. Dinner was also crowded and we were not able to get seated inside. Be warned!
Distance from rooms to halls and eating venues.
at the time of booking, which was months before arrival date, i requested the refurbished rooms. it was a waste of time doing the request as it was completely ignored. furthermore the rate on booking.com was more than 50% extra to wat the price of the room was. i paid 1260 per room and the rate at the hotel was only 800 zar
Hotel employees were friendly and helpful, responding quickly to our needs. One of the room attendants helped us with the steaming of our bride's wedding dress and the ironing of her veil.
The events co-ordinator, Lucinda could have been more visible and available. I feel that she could have responded to requests more proactively instead of blaming everything on "not having enough staff" to assist us.
Location is great handy for shopping and Monte Casino. Lots of bars and restaurants close by. Breakfast is amazing...is hard to beat.
Nothing to dislike at all
The size of the rooms, and the fact that they led outdoors and not into a corridor. The one House-keeping lady was friendly (albeit not too helpful or efficient.) The venue used for the function was good and the food was lovely.
Upon arrival, the front desk attempted to charge me far more than the amount Booking.com arranged. The amount was also more than the hotel charges when booking directly. The first room they put us in was not even clean yet, and the room they moved us into had not been set up with welcome chocolates. There was no bulb in the light fitting above the mirror, and they made the excuse that the wiring was faulty - in which case they should not use that room. Upon insistance that they check again, it was simply a missing bulb. The first room's mugs were filthy and chipped. the second room' bath plug didn't work, forcing only the shower to be available. We had a couple booked into the room next door, and the staff took 2 hours to bring their room key. We could not get hold of house-keeping to bring clean mugs, and room service could only provide tea cups. When checking out, the front desk staff were incredibly rude. The first gentlemen responded to our "Good Morning, how are you?" with an abrupt "Fine". You do not get to have this kind of "bad day" when working the front desk of an "elite" hotel. The lady who ended up checking us out, after we laid our simple complaints on the table, rudely responded that we should appreciate that our check-in experience at least went smoothly - which, I reminded her, it had not. I will not stay there again. I will go out of my way to recommend that people do not stay there. I have been to many places, much cheaper might I add, that had far better service and that were better prepared for their guests.
Staff Facilities Breakfasts Rooms
Bathrooms, a little outdated
We had an amazing stay. No request was too big or too small for the staff of the hotel restuarant and spa. Would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to SA
The road works around the hotel but that's only temporary
Mowana spa was great!
We enjoyed the setting of the hotel and the atmosphere. The breakfast was good.
Accessing the hotel was an issue due to the on going work on the road in front of the hotel.
Comfort of the rooms
No porters to assist with luggage. Room directional signs poor
The construction nearby.
Weak Wifi at the room.
Water didnt seem very hot.
staff nice and attentive during breakfast. The lady who assisted to sort out my booking when checking out.The gentleman who helped us with our bags.
Walter at the reception was very rude and refused to accept my confirmed booking because according to him i was not supposed to book online on a saturday. He made a new booking and charged me a more expensive rate than my confirmed rate. The house keeping staff who i had to call them three times to bring me an extra blanket. The tv that was too small and not working properly and being told that there was nothing they could do because technicians don't work after hours.
The staff at the front desk and restaurant were very professional, friendly and pleasant. Great experience for first trip to ZA.
the breakfast and the double room
The roadworks outside the hotel to get onto the main road was an absolute nightmare.
the staff at the reception and security staff
The room door and room condition
I enjoyed my room and the cleanliness of it. The breakfast staff were really friendly and helpful and so were the reception day staff. Loved the nature feel of it. Quiet and serene. Food was great too.
I did not like the fact that the internet was off in my room for two days. Despite reporting it on the first day evening time, and assured someone would come to my room no one came.
We stay quite often and normally find the rooms very clean which is nice
The last two times we have stayed the dining room is a little bit dirty and selection of breakfast is not replenished regularly ie fruit, cheeses, hams, fish etc
