excellent value for money lodgings, with very close proximity to all areas. a definite recommend for travellers to this region.
grounds and view
The remote location was nice for a get away. we stayed one night and left early. but supposedly you will have hippos playing in the river and even walking around the property.
it had been raining alot and the cottage had a faint mildew smell. the lodge is very far off the main road and the driveway was very rough. but then again we were in the rainy season.
Very nice place to stay, friendly owner
to drive there
the relaxed clean peaceful environment that was so close to this country's main attraction-KNP! The manager was very friendly and everything worked properly and it was a source of comfort to come back to the chalet in the evenings.
- Nice cottages, good location - proximity to Kruger National Park as well as the Panorama route leading to the Blyde River Canyon. - We were a little scared after reading a review that talked about thieves entering a cottage, but the place seemed quite secure, and there were 2 security guards watching the cottages at night (probably a result of the aforementioned theft). - Hans - the owner - is friendly and helpful. He even sent over a camera that we had forgotten in one of the cottages after we called him. - Breakfast was excellent!
As all the reviews have already said, the approach road (calling it a road is stretching it a bit already) is really bad. To the extent that you really don't want to make that extra trip for a couple of extra snacks. And this is coming from a guy who lives in India. 'Nuff said. Overall this is not luxury accommodation, so don't set expectations too high. It's fairly good value for money, and the cottages are quite nice.
Nice location close to hippo river Very kind hosts Great breakfast
Lodge could be a bit cleaner
Place environment; beauty gardens
Room was good but not really clean as espectes
Hospitality accommodation facilities
Road to lodge poor and mention of the road should be made when booking as it is not motorcycle friendly
Proximity to Kruger National Park. Cleanliness.
Would be useful to have an extra bathroom in the cottage.
Very Quiet, friendly proprietors.
Access was challenging.
