The only thing which could be disturbing, that there is no door between the room and bathroom but only a curtain.
The Jardin d'Ebene is a wonderful guesthouse and ideally situated for a trip to Cape Town.
The old Victorian house is nicely decorated with lots of African decor. You feel that the house is maintained with love. Together with his wife, Roland is a great host. He is there for you each single day and takes his time to interact with every guest personally. After arrival he gives you an intensive briefing about the house, the neighborhood, Cape Town (sights, restaurants, shopping, dos and don’ts) and the area of the cape peninsula. Also he gives recommendations on the day, where there are special things going on. He helps in organizing restaurants or visits of cultural events at no extra expense. Also his employees are very helpful all day long.
Even as a business traveler, this is a good place, because he also offers business services, as scanning of documents, printing and copying. There is a very stable WiFi throughout the house. Meetings can be organized in the hall and the garden offers also hideaways.
My room was the smallest of the house, but there was still enough room, when you store your things clever. Beds were good and the furniture is in very good condition. The bathroom is state of the art. But there is also an extra toilet on the ally. The house is an oasis of tranquility and lets you completely forget that you are in the 2nd largest city of the country.
A great buffet breakfast with a lot of choice is normally served in the quiet garden. Complimentary tea and coffee including some biscuits are also there for the whole of the day. The “honesty bay” offers everything to have a lazy end of the day.
The City Center is just a 20mins walk away and there are dozens of restaurants in the vincity. The V&A Waterfront and the Table Mountain funicular are just a few minutes by car. The airport can be reached within 30mins. There is plenty of space to park your car in front of the guest house.
