The place -and especially the bird garden- looks amazing! The breakfast was very good.

The lock on our door did not work properly, and someone stepped into our room while we were in bed already. The owner is the nicest lady, but gave us too much information about almost everything that we were not going to visit in the area. (we were just on our way to our next stop, not spending much time in the area, which we have told her repeatedly)

Nothing - we enjoyed our stay thoroughly.

Secluded setting in a superb natural environment. Very comfortable accommodation leading into the house's large sitting-room with TV and lots of books, especially about birds. The birds here are wonderfully varied. They eat at the feeders in the trees alongside the verandah where we had our splendid breakfasts. The owners are delightful people and do everything they can to help.

Nothing that we disliked; but people who like things all modern and flashly might not like this charming b&b.

We had a great stay at the Kingfisher. Beautiful room in a great garden, just a couple of kilometers from wilderness (with excellent restaurants) and loads of activities around the corner. We went kanoeing and hiking in the National park just a couple of 100 meters away. The hostess was very kind and provided us with all the information we wanted and needed. Homemade cookies, muffins,... and a great breakfast. We only stayed for one night. But longer would not have been a punishment at all.

It was so good we decided to stay a few days longer. Starting each day with a splendid breakfast on the balcony surrounded by colourful singing birds (incl. the Knysna Loerie). Spotless rooms and very warm people. What more do you need? Sue knows the best restaurants, activities and other spots to discover at the Garden Route.

Fabulous location, especially for bird watching, including very close views of feeding birds from an attractive open veranda and excellent nearby wetlands.

The setting of Kingfisher Country House is stunning - set in an indigenous area, close to the Touws river and you can also hear the sea, should the wind be in the right directions. Bird life is EXCELLENT.

We were surprised to see that there was no Television in the room. Since it rained the entire time during our stay, we could have watched a documentary or a movie. Non the less, this did not make our stay any less pleasant.

Outstanding hospitality of Sue and Phil. They also gave a lot of recommendations and tips regarding restaurants, what to do and what not, hiking, swimming and all other forms of activities. Breakfast with homemade jam, muffins and stuff.

Noisy fan at the ceiling in our bedroom
