Enjoy the air of relaxation and understated elegance in this classic Cape Dutch architecturally-styled house, set in the village of Franschhoek.
Score from 32 reviews Very good
We only stayed for one night. I could have spent several days enjoying the beautiful surroundings. The staff helped with dinner reservations and ensured our limited time stumbled on great wineries.
Difficult to find, but give them a call and they will guide you in.
The quiet. The mountain view.
The rooms are oddly placed and are rather long and too narrow to move around. Not enough light or windows. Strange design
Beautiful garden and views.
Breakfast setting lovely
Putting the tea tray in the clothes closet and having to boil a kettle on the floor - what about a tray in the room? The room was very boxy.
That there was good car parking available and the location was good and the wine was very well priced !
Climbing up the stairs !
there was a infestation of cockroaches! unaceptable! No any compensation was offered for this disgusting plague
1. THE LOCATION. 2. THE AMAZING VIEWS OF MOUNTAIN RANGE THAT SURROUND THE AREA. 3. THE VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL MANAGEMENT AND STAFF. 4. A FEELING OF BEING SAFE AND SECURE, EVEN ON THE SHORT WALK INTO TOWN; WITH EXCELLENT WINE AND FOOD.
THAT OUR STAY - OF SIX NIGHTS - WAS TOO SHORT.
Very spacious rooms and welcomed with a bottle of local cap classique which was really nice. Good breakfast. Walking distance into town and close to the Franschhoek monument.
Ladies on duty very friendly and tried to be helpful
Noise of wardrobe doors closing every time opening or closing. Tv remote didn't work so no tv in room. No management presence until departure.. A bit impersonal.
location and staff and breakfast
A beautiful country house with stunning views and luxury rooms. The afternoon tea and cake was a lovely touch.
The people, the place, the location, the weather.
Lovely situation Lovely breakfast Rooms beautifully decorated Bathroom of a high standard
Bed and pillows not comfortable Bedroom too hot, but when air con on too cold - didn't seem to be able to adjust it, so sleeping difficult. Would like to have been able to leave windows open at night
Hospitality of the owners and staff.
Plague of bugs each night invading our bedroom.
Setting, views and service all great.
Great welcome including a half bottle of sparkling wine and afternon tea and cake. Assistance with booking restaurants. Fantastic location and views Very nice room and facilities
La Cabriere is a lovely little gem in Franschoek. It is very quaint and comfortable, as soon as we arrived we were met by the manager who showed us to our room and then sent a bottle of bubbly in the house, very much appreciated!!!!! The staff were lovely, breakfast is served on a small patio with stunning views of the mountains. You can have the continental which is full of fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, hams and cheeses, or order from the kitchen!!!!! It was very busy in Franschoek so the manager booked tables for us both nights at two local restaurants, she also advised us to do the wine tasting tram tour which was a great idea and a right giggle:):):) We loved our two nights here and were sad to leave!!!
Beautiful aspect, clean and comfortable rooms, we were made to feel really at home, loved the bottle of welcome bubbly!
we didn't stay long enough!
Nice fresh breakfasts. Well presented welcome drink. Lovely gardens. Kitchen staff super
TV small, old,in cabinet, limited programme choice. Definitely not walking distance to town. Franschhoek is expensive to stay, this accom. at the top end for its type
Superb - Fabulous Beautiful Guest House and Gardens Peaceful and Tranquil Welcoming, Helpful and Friendly Private and Intimate I have already booked my next two stays and I am looking forward to my return! It's a special and quaint little guest house....definitely the place where one can relax and totally detach from hectic everyday life. The views from the terrace are just breath taking, which makes waking up with sunrise a very special experience. The room that I booked was of beautiful decor, the bathroom amenities exceeds that of a 5 Star hotel and overall I have felt at home from the moment I have stepped inside. Every detail is very well thought of, staff around the guest house are super friendly and helpful, nothing ever seems too much. This is a jewel that must be seen and experienced...
beautiful surroundings, cold sparkling wine on arrival nice touch.
Decor and fittings, more than adequate not luxurious as advertised and breakfast very ordinary for that price.
the setting was very beautiful and peaceful on the outskirts of Franchhoke,2 miles away. The new rooms are luxuriously appointed . We received a 1/2 bottle of complementary bubbly The domestic staff were helpful and friendly..
There was a total lack of welcome from the owner . Although we had booked in July the last available room when we arrived in December the lavatory was not flushing and windows did not lock . New rooms are going to be built and the one we stayed in will no longer be let .
Fabulous! We will definitely stay there again!
Great location Superb views Exclusive country-house atmosphere
