Well located within easy walking distance of restaurants and shopping and other points of interest. Yoann Nicolas and wife provide lively conversation at breakfast time, as well as good tips for tourists not familiar with Cape Town.

Room is new and very clean, love the smell of the air freshener too! It was tastefully decorated and was very comfortable. Great for single traveler like me who wants to stay in a safe, nice, warm, affordable and comfortable place yet near to the heart of Capetown. It is located in Bo-Kaap, which is a nice Muslim heritage area with a cool cafe down the road. The owner Yoann and his wife is very friendly and helpful too! The oriental room is located right next to the dining table for breakfast, where all the guests gather in the morning for breakfast. Won't be an issue for those who are early riser but can be really noisy if you are still sleeping. Nevertheless breakfast is from 7am-9.30am, so the noise is good enough to wake you up for breakfast.

I enjoyed the friendly, warm atmosphere of La Rose b&b as a small, family- run guest house. The owners are a young couple, who also manage their b&b and join their guests most mornings over a cup of coffee to chat and help with any information needed. The rooms are small, but comfortable and clean. My room, the Garden Room, was charming (green with Buddha wall decorations and a tiny garden outside the door). The b&b is conveniently located within walking distance of most Cape Town city attractions and near many good restaurants. In addition, it is in the Bo-Kaap district, which is colorful and appears to be one of the last genuine neighborhood communities in Cape Town.

What we liked most about the hotel was the owners and informal chats over breakfast . They were very helpful with advise about local places of interest. We also loved the location it is within walking distance of most of the attractions. If you like walking. If not a short taxi ride away. And the area has security patrols out on the streets day and night. Would recommend this place for a few days stay. What was the down side ? Well the room we had was very small and compact. Not a lot of storage space. Nio chairs in the room, The bathroom was clean but the water pressure in the shower was poor. We were on the ground floor with a small access over stepping stones with a seat beside it. The cushions were wet and had mildew on caused by the rain.

Rooms are furnished with very much care to detail creating a personal atmosphere. Owners a joining guests for breakfast to serve them and to chat about life in Cape Town. Everything in the city center is in walking distance, like the tourist information center where you can hop on the sightseeing bus or Long Street with its the restaurants and bars.

The staff of La Rose, including the owners, made this such a comfortable and clean " home away from home" for us. Always ready for a chat and a word of advice, I would suggest anyone visiting Cape Town and wishing to stay in a neighbourhood with a bit of character and in accomodation with warmth and personality - and a great breakfast omlette, not to miss this gem!

Owners most pleasant and helpful. Location central and interesting surroundings. Felt quite safe. The so called red room that we had is on the road and therefore a little noisy - however not unbearable. Others had Air Con and this didn't. Idem for international TV channels

The highly commited services offered by Yoann and Adeerah (tireless assistance and advice for restaurants, trips etc) , the unique atmosphere of this b&b (wonderful guests) which offers far more comfort and authentic details than I would have expected. Ideal location in the gorgeous bokaap/waterkant area. Its an extremely good value for money proposition where they make you feel at home! So much so, that I extended my stay in Kaapstad for à few more days!!! Keep up the good work guys!!

“Service attitude and spirit was very good, from management to the adorable cat Gingia. Clean and nice for a two weeks stay in the budget room. Location is almost perfect, close to the internet cafes and restaurants on Main Street, close to the sea and the superb sightseeing hop on hop off bus. Security situation in the city is also much better than I expected. I recommend this place + Cape Town rocks!” Axel, Helsingfors |
