Hospitality. The breakfast. The hosts had breakfast together with the guests sitting around a long table.
Hands on and friendly, helpful owners. Good breakfast.
Towels need to be replaced and suggest more than two small towels per room.
A great location, friendly helpful staff and a lovely breakfast. All in all great value
Wifi was a little flakey, but who cares
Perfect location, clean and cosy. We stayed in the Mandela room, very nice and original with a small balcony. Yoann, his wife and all the rest of the staff are very helpful and welcoming. Delicious breakfast :)
Wifi not very strong in Mandela Room, but still works closer to the door.
- we booked the garden room, its a perfect room when travelling alone. In the future, we will book a bigger room at la rose to be a bit more comfortable - location of la rose is good. As other reviews have mentioned, the area is a bit rough. In our experience, yes there were beggars in the area, but they were harmless - car is safe at night, there is a security man right outside of la rose guarding your car - go to the restaurant: 95keerom. Great food and wine Just 10-15 min walk - V&A waterfront / robben island Ferry is About 25 min walk. Taxi is around 50 rands. - staff are friendly. Owner is happy to help and assist you at Any time
- tv , not working - garden room is not very private, it has a glass door, guests need to walk past the room to reach their own room
Great location, clean, nice veranda, helpful owners with good tips.
We felt very welcomed and got helpful advice from Yoann, Adheera and their team. La Rose is a communicative and open-minded place in the colourful quarter of Boo-Kap.
The personalized welcome and expert advice by owner Yohan. The location in the eclectic and (literally and metaphorically) colorful Bo Kaap quarter. The delicious breakfasts prepared by Yohan's staff. The protection for my rental car provided by security guards outside the accommodation.
Colorful guesthouse, very good location near bars and restaurants, and extremely nice owners who had breakfast with us every morning and gave us a lot of tips. I definitely recommend this guesthouse!
the room, the comfort, the breakfast, and of course the owner & its staff. my trip would not have been the same without them
I found the place a bit noisy, but I am very sensitive to the noise. Yet I did not expect to be waken up by some muslim prayer @ 5.30 am :)
Yoann & Adheera, the owners & hosts get it. La Rose is an ideal location for experiencing the core of Cape Town crossed with the comfort of a residential neighborhood. They are both gracious & knowledgeable and the communal breakfast is a taste treat of flavors and other guests. I was there for 2 weeks, staying in the Lilac Suite and the Mandela Suite and I would return in a New York minute ie. a heart beat.
The staff is very friendly and ready to help with useful tips and suggestions. Location is charming by day, a little bit by night, but again apparently they discourage from walking at night in every part if the city.
The only thing I can think about was that the barthroom sink was too small.
Location - close to all main attractions, particualrly the Red Bus route Friendliness of Staff Professional approach Great breakfast
The area around the hotel may seem a little scary at night (I did not experience anything bad though) - just the impression.
This is a jewel in the Bo-Kaap, so happy that we found it! Very artistic and creative. Everything that we needed for our stay plus breakfast with smells of freshly baked muffins, fruit with honey and nuts and hot, tasty omelets. We will be back!
A long mirror in the room would have been helpful.
The hotel Breakfast Friendliness Willingness to help us understand the city we were in and get the best fom it
Nothing we did not like
Great place to stay, highly recommend
The premises, the cleaness and the staff
The location is good, but the sorroundings do not look safe to walk around
Great location, very nice and friendly Service with great tips for Restaurants, sightseeing and nightlife and really good breakfast in a nice atmosphere. Definitely again.
I like the building itself. It was cute and comfortable. The host was helpful as needed. I like the fact that there was a guard for my car
The morning prayers left me a bit cold, but it was an interesting event
Informal setting, great to access and very central in Cape Town. Good breakfast choices with fresh baked bread and a choice of eggs cooked the way you like. Great coffee and a big 'family' style table that stimulated conversation.
Maintenance needs to be done in the room I stayed in, towel rail broken, hot tap in shower not working properly and door lock sometimes would not accept the key.
Very nice and fresh place to stay, very good toiletry, breakfast with Juna who gave excellent tips for tips on what to do. I do recommend the Jorvan outreach tour but do also visit the wineyards =) Loved the the roof veranda. Nr 1 place to book if i go there again. Really far to a supermarket, but the whole town would need some 7Elevens quick marts as there is none, so not La Rose fault.
The owner was gracious and attentive. Our room, the Cerise room, was perfectly located and out of the way. The room was beautiful. The B&B itself was also gorgeous. Great wi-fi and helpful guidebook upon arrival. It's also great that there is a security guard that is always on duty at night.
I just wish it was a little closer to the centre of town but that's not a big deal since cab fare is so affordable.
clean, staff are nice.
Location, home-made breakfast, helpful owner (both Yoan and Adheera), and my cozy room the Crimson Suite!
We stayed in one of the smallest rooms but it was nevertheless quite comfortable, charming and had everything we needed, including a little veranda to chill before going to sleep. The location is great and right in one of the touristic attractions and cultural landmarks of Cape Town, which is Bo Kaap. The breakfast room is amazing and the breakfast was delicious, specially the custom made omelets (and you will never get such good, crispy and freshly baked bread again in SA). The manager/owner is extremely friendly, warm and helpful. The "La Rose experience" was a perfect start of our trip in South Africa and we will for sure book there again the next time we are in Cape Town. Thank you Joann!
