Rooms with satellite TV and garden views are offered by this B&B in Bethlehem, 1 km from the Bethlehem Casino. The breakfast room has a large wall picture of a forest.
Score from 26 reviews Very good
Friendliness and helpfulness of staff Everything about the room. Haven't slept like this for years. Uniqueness of the decor and the lovely shower and bath Breakfast was just enough and very enjoyable. Can definitely recommend it to everybody
Breakfast was wonderful. Staff very helpful. Beautiful gardens.
Wifi kept on disconnecting and the cellphone reception is poor, making it hard to use internet on this venue
Facilities in the room was very good. Nice and spacious. Staff are friendly.
Breakfast was disappointing.
We liked the room, very large, good beds and the absolute peaceful environment. it is great to stay at this place. We recommend this to others because it is good quality for the money
The rooms are very pretty inside and the bathrooms are spacious. The restaurant on site was excellent for dinner. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and everything was very clean.
There really isn't much to do in Bethlehem, and it was a pity that the restaurant was closed on Sundays. The coffee machine in the breakfast area didn't work properly, and breakfasts weren't as good as the meals from the restaurant.
Excellent accommodation great situation for touring the area around golden gate and clarens. Excellent menu at the restaurant on the premises
Had to b e in Kestell and skipped looking at accommodation there as I wished to treat my mother and as it was winter and she is already 70. Hence booked the much hyped wedding lodge. Duvet cover torn so badly (photographs - 3 places) that had to complain: second set also torn badly. Only third set in good condition. Then: no partition in the big en suite room towards the bathroom. No heater, only aircon - that was not able to heat the big space. Resulting in us not being able to have a shower or take a bath in night temperatures of 4 degrees. The following morning I discovered the core of the lodge where the weddings take place: in the centre. With partitions. And proper linen. We were given a "last available" room in a supposedly 4star lodge paying twice what I paid for the next night in an unstarred lodge in Kestell. It waas definitely not the room in the pictures. It was cold and miserable and smelly. And nobody told us they are using their 'spare' accommodation. Right next to the main road leading into Bethlehem. And definitely no p[rice compensation. What a terrible come down. What an embarassment - trying to treat my mother. Be careful.
The service The food The room The cleanliness The quiet
The slow wi-fi
Liked everything about the place and very centrally situated. Will definately like to be back again.
Only 1 negative was the service at breakfast as well as a very limited breakfast variation for a 4 star hotel.
Place was not cleaned properly
Well designed and comfortable rooms. Cozy resort
No hot water in the morning, despite having informed staff. Had to bathe with cold water in winter
Restaurant was good in evening although we waited 1 hour for our meal
Lousy electronic air freshner in the room. It made a noise every hour or so like a cat being attacked. Also had a bright blinking green LED which reflected on the mirror. I hung clothing over it. Minimal TV channels. Restaurant does not even have a coffee machine!!!! Gate remote did not work. TV remote did not work. Highway noise. Barfridge in room not stocked at all apart from 2 small bottles of water..and a notice that no alcohol allowed to be brought onto property. not enough hot water
What a surprise! This is a gem set in beautiful surroundings. Complete DSTV package, so I did not miss any of my favourite programmes. Friendly, engaging staff, good food, crisp, clean, good quality linen, huge bed - everything so comfortable - even the house cat was a pleasure!
Perhaps a bit off the beaten track, but that was the least of it.
The accomadation is very good and the setting is lovely.
When we arrived we were asked to settle the accomadation which we did in Cash. At check-out the receptionist was advised that the account had already been settled however this was not updated and they debited our credit card with the same amount. My husband found that very irritating as we were still there having breakfast so they could have chacked with us before making the debit. The cc was refunded but it did put a damper on what was a very nice stay.
Setting was nice
Thought the food was not great and the buffet on Sunday night was very bad cold tasteless,. We met the chef very nice guy but needs to be a little bit more imagantive with food.
The sherry The room The dinner The garden The peaceful atmosphere
We really enjoyed our stay
Loved the location, peaceful and quiet and beautifully appointed.
I feel they should offer some sort of brunch or meal on Sunday after breakfast - also they need to up their selection of fresh fruit - now (Feb) we have mangoes, litches, berries of all kinds, peaches, watermelon and grapes. Granny Smith apples are not the way to go.
It had beautiful gardens - all the potential to be a great venue - whether as a stop over or as a weekend for just relaxation
1. Staff not well trained. Even from management side (those who were on duty for the weekend) communication was non-existent. 2. we were not told that the Restaurant would be closed for the Sunday afternoon. We came back to eat there and found it closed. 3.No one was picking up the phones on all numbers available - not before we came to Lavender Hill and not when we wanted some advice on places to eat. 4. The restaurant prepared great food but we had to go and call a waiter to serve us wine and to take our orders - Poor training 5. The day we left we had to wait one and a half hour for the restaurant to open. Although we were the only guests for that morning, we expected better service at a 4* Lodge 6. I was very disappointed wrt our booking and will not recommend it
Beautiful setting, huge, clean rooms and great beds
Food were wonderfull, the accomodation nice big rooms, and very private
The rooms were beautiful, and the breakfast wonderful. We will definitely tell other people. We loved staying there. thank you for going into so much trouble making the room beautiful.
We noticed that there wasn't a separate light in our room for the bathroom, which means if you wanted to go to the bathroom you had to put on the light for the whole room, which can be disturbing. another thing, which is more personally taste, we are huge coffee lovers and where a bit disappointed that there wasn't filter coffee for breakfast.
all other services were good
the breakfast staff was non existend!
