    Very expensive restaurant, slow service, small portions, poor fish dish but good steak though too small

    We were a large group. Booked a last minute dinner. The staff pulled out all the stops to accommodate us despite their restaurant bring fully booked. And we were all served within a hour.

    The inflexibility of the reception staff when they were not prepared to negotiate a last minute walk-in rate when one of the couples wanted to book a room for the night, at 9pm that eve, after they confirmed availability. The rate requested was one they'd advertised 2 days earlier.

    Check in, friendly staff, very helpful staff, service great, but food a bit slow in arriving. Loved the driver facility which we used on the Saturday night to drop us and fetch us at restaurant in town, so didn't have to worry about drinking and driving.

    Would have preferred to be closer to town, but happy with our choice of hotel

    Food was great, room clean.

    Could not get a spa menu online, I emailed way in advance and by the time I finally received a menu they did not have availability. If I had know this I would not have booked there.

    I got married on the 26th of April. We stayed at Le Franchhoek and it was the most enjoyable and memorable stay. Thank you for making our wedding so perfect.

    Lovely attitude of staff who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and special. Lovely touch of complimentary champagne as celebrating an anniversary. Delicious steak and live entertainment at DISH restaurant.

    Beautiful setting. Great atmosphere spoilt by noise level in bedroom and lazy, untrained staff.

    The rooms in the wing 27 to 40 are over a generator or something similar which drones away loudly all night and day spoiling the wonderful country atmophere and peace The staff in the Bar and breakfast room seemed not to know what to do. Got two coffees and two teas wrong On arrival in the Bar , chairs had been moved out of normal positions and all tables had dirty glasses, empty bottles & cans and half eaten bowls of nuts which were left by previous customers. A young manager appeared from somewhere and sorted it all out after we had been in the Bar for half an hour with the Bar staff chatting at the Bar.( Barman & two waitresses.) He forgot to puff up the cushions and arrange neatly which still gave an untidy look. We did get our drinks and the waitress removed the glasses etc on our table from the previous customers but did not wipe the table which was full of bits dropped by the previous people The hot breakfast buffet was quite cold with cold plates so by the time you reached your table the food was cold There seemed to be several staff removing used plates Only one waitress asked us if we needed anything. We had several trips backwards and forwards to get what we needed. A Four star hotel deserves four star service.

    The therapist smoked before she did my facial, so all I smelled on her hands was stale smoke. It really put me off. She also wanted to do my eyebrow wax after the facial. I had to ask her to do it before the time and she was quite surprised? What's the point of having a relaxing facial, just to be shocked awake afterwards with the waxing. I think she went out for another sigaret while she waited for the wax to warm up. Also, I had an allergic reaction to the products (Thalgo). The skin around my eyes started to itch as I left the salon and the next morning around both my eyes were swollen from the reaction. I have told the therapist before the time that I sometimes get exama. I did go back the next morning to show them. They did not say anything. I will not go back to Camelot again. I ordered room service for breakfast and both mornings. The first morning I ordered the breakfast for 7h30. After I phoned 3 times, my breakfast arrived at 8h30. The second morning I wrote on my ticket that I would like my breakfast at 6h30 the next morning. Fortunately I was not in such a hurry, because, again my breakfast arrived at 8h30. Both taps in my bathroom basin came out of the wall everytime I opened them. I thing the hotel needs a bit of TLC. The setting and gardens are beautiful, but I would rate the hotelat the moment 3 star. Not 5star.

    Great staff, we arrived late on Sunday night and the restaurant staff were very accommodating

    Only issue was being woken up by housekeeping at 7am and the noise in the morning from staff moving up and down the hallways.

    The first night we were in room 1. It is right above the kitchens. The noise from the fridges/freezers were so noisy that it ruined our first night 's sleep. We complained and we were immediately moved to another room.

    The setting was beautiful

    On arrival at 11.30pm, no one offered to carry our luggage upstairs. We phoned room service but no one answered. At breakfast I had to ask for coffee, also no one told us we could order from the kitchen. The stitching in the chair in the room was coming apart. It was not 5 star.

    The hotel is advertised as a hotel and spa. On arrival I requested a spa menu to make a booking and was told that none were presently available!! Had to walk up to the spa . Made a booking for the following morning. On arrival early the next morning as advised, we were not on the booking list!!! not a good way to start our anniversary. Hotel manager was informed and have still not received any response. Also, not 5 star in terms of facilities in the room. No bed turn down etc. Room pretty basic. Shower and bath shabby Definitely not worth the price!!!

    Nice location

    Le verger Restaurant Alentours Swimming Pool No Wifi !!!!!! avaiable and payable in the rooms (verry complicated) 1 st Hotel in SA we had to pay for a Wifi not working ( 150 R )
